Fisheye Image Correction with Ellipsoid Model (타원체 모형을 통한 어안 영상 보정)

  • General method for correcting the distortion caused by the characteristic of the fish-eye lens may be classified in two ways. The first method is a calibration method using a mathematical model taking into account the characteristics of the lens, the second method is a method using only the distortion correction image, regardless of the lens. When considering the characteristics of the lens, calibration equation can be calculated geometrically from the relationship between the three-dimensional real-world coordinates and two-dimensional image coordinates and the parameters of lens. However, it is not suitable for ellipsoid type lens, because of existing research papers have been corrected on the spherical-type fisheye lens. In this paper, we propose a method for correcting geometrically using fish-eye lens as an ellipsoid model. Through a calibration picture, it can be seen that the proposed method is valid.

  • 본 논문은 스테레오 영상의 왜곡 현상을 분석하는 수학적인 해석 방법을 제안하였다. 스테레오 카메라의 중심과 투사기의 중심을 연결하는 직선이 스크린이 가지는 평면의 중심을 지나는 법선 벡터가 되고, 스테레오 카메라와 투사기의 두 렌즈의 광축이 스크린의 중심에 놓일 경우에 사진을 찍는 조건, 투영 조건 및 관측 조건에 해당하는 해석해를 유도하였다. 위 세 가지 조건에 따라 영상의 왜곡 정도가 바뀌게 되는데 왜곡을 최소한으로 만들 수 있는 조건식을 유도하였다.

The Change of Interior Orientation Parameters in Zoom Lens Digital Cameras (줌렌즈 디지털 카메라의 내부표정요소 변화)

  • Recently, as digital photogrammetry bas been widely used in various fields including construction, it is also being applied to several industries. It is essential for interior orientation to determine accurate focal length of camera, lens distortion, location of principal point in order to apply high quality digital camera to digital photogrammetry. In this study we conducted interior orientation for zoom lens camera with regular time and zoom factors and analyzed change of radial distortion parameters and location of principal point to evaluate interior orientation stability. As a result, radial distortion parameters($k_1,k_2$) are converged into zero by increasing zoom factors. There are correlation between the change of location of point and zoom factors. The displacement of $x_p$, $y_p$ increase as zoom factors rise high.

  • Vehicle Black Box (Event Data Recorder EDR) only recognizes the general surrounding environments of load. In addition, general EDR is difficult to recognize the images of a sudden illumination change. It appears that the lens is being a severe distortion. Therefore, general EDR does not provide the clues of the circumstances of the accident. To solve this problem, we estimate the value of Normalized Luminance Descriptor(NLD) and Normalized Contrast Descriptor(NCD). Illumination change is corrected using Normalized Image Quality(NIQ). Second, we are corrected lens distortion using model of Field Of View(FOV) based on designed method of fisheye lens. As a result, we propose integration algorithm of two methods that correct distortions of images using each Gamma Correction and Lens Correction in parallel.

Performance Improvement of Soccer Robot by Vision Calibration and Patch Change in Real Time Environment (실시간 환경에서의 영상조정 및 패치 변경에 의한 축구로봇의 성능개선)

  • This paper proposes a new method about performance improvement of soccer robots system by the revision of lens distortion most commonly occurred in camera and the revision of position and angle error in robot patch for the realization of robot position. Among the lens distortions, we revise geometrical distortion and apply it to soccer robots system for realtime environment. Patch used in the recognition and the distinction for coordination and direction of robot occurs a position and angle error according to the figure of it. In this paper, we suggest the method of reduction for position and angle error of robot by improved patch and verify its propriety through the experiment.

  • 일반적으로 카메라는 좁은 시각 영역(field of view)를 가짐으로 인해, 넓은 영역의 뷰를 얻기 위해서는 모터를 이용하여 카메라를 팬/틸트시키는 것이 일반적이다. 하지만, 이들은 아직까지 기계적으로 카메라를 직접 움직여 원하는 영역의 영상을 보여주기 때문에, 내구성이 떨어지며 생산 원가도 많이 든다. 또한 움직임으로 인한 모션 블러 현상도 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 한번에 보은 지역을 촬영할 수 있고, 비기계적으로 팬/틸트가 가능한 카메라 시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 한번의 촬영으로 널은 영역을 얻기 위해, 어안렌즈를 CCD 센서와 항께 사용한다. 또한, 어안렌즈(fish-eye lens)를 통해 얻은 왜곡된 영상을 와핑 기술을 이용해 편 다음, 원하는 부분의 영상을 보여준다. 본 논문은 TI사의 TMS320DSC25 프로세서로 구현하였으며, 어안 렌즈 캘리브레이션 및 실시간 왜곡 보정, 영상 출력을 위한 방법을 소개한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 차량에 부착된 4대의 어안렌즈 카메라 영상을 이용하여 차량 주위 전방향의 주변 정보를 포함하는 정합 영상을 생성하고, 생성된 정합 영상에서 차선을 검출하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존의 전방 카메라만을 이용하여 차선을 검출하는 방법들은 안개와 같이 기상 환경이 안 좋은 경우 가시거리가 짧아져 정상적인 차선 검출이 어려운 문제가 있다. 이에 반해 4대의 어안렌즈 카메라로 차량의 주변을 촬영한 영상은 기상 환경에 영향을 적게 받아 안정적인 차선 검출에 용이하다. 어안렌즈 카메라로 촬영한 영상은 왜곡이 심하기 때문에 왜곡 보정을 수행한 후 차량 위에서 아래로 내려다본 시점으로 투영 변환하여 하나의 영상으로 정합한다. 정합영상에서 관심영역을 설정한 후 차선 후보 영역을 검출하고, 검출된 후보 영역들로 차선을 직선으로 모델링한다. 점선 차선 구간이나 차량 흔들림에 대응하기 위해 직선으로 모델링된 차선 정보의 차선 각도와 차량으로부터 거리 정보를 칼만 필터 기반 추적 및 보정하여 안정적으로 차선 검출을 수행한다. 실험 결과 제안하는 방법은 실선구간에서 99.57%, 점선구간에서는 90.48%의 검출 정확도를 가진다.

The problem of determining the relationship between the camera frame and the robot hand frame is refered to as the hand-eye calibration. In the literature, various methods have been suggested to calibrate camera and for sensor registration. Recently, one-step approach which combines camera calibration and sensor registration is suggested by Horaud & Dornaika. In this approach, camera extrinsic parameters are not need to be determined at all configurations of robot. In this paper, by modifying the camera model and including the lens distortion effect in the perspective transformation matrix, a new one-step approach is proposed in the hand-eye calibration.

Full-field Distortion Measurement of Virtual-reality Devices Using Camera Calibration and Probe Rotation (카메라 교정 및 측정부 회전을 이용한 가상현실 기기의 전역 왜곡 측정법)

  • A compact virtual-reality (VR) device with wider field of view provides users with a more realistic experience and comfortable fit, but VR lens distortion is inevitable, and the amount of distortion must be measured for correction. In this paper, we propose two different full-field distortion-measurement methods, considering the characteristics of the VR device. The first is the distortion-measurement method using multiple images based on camera calibration, which is a well-known technique for the correction of camera-lens distortion. The other is the distortion-measurement method by measuring lens distortion at multiple measurement points by rotating a camera. Our proposed methods are verified by measuring the lens distortion of Google Cardboard, as a representative sample of a commercial VR device, and comparing our measurement results to a simulation using the nominal values.
