  • The weld seam tracking sensor is indispensable to improve the flexibility of automatic arc welding systems. Among the position sensing methods available, a laser displacement sensor is one of the most prevailing methods. In this study, a laser displacement sensor was examined on detecting the weld seam of lap joints in sheet metal arc welding. The output signal of the laser displacement sensor may ontain severe fluctuation from the effect of arc light, spatters, fume, etc. So a variety of signal processing methods was applied to smooth the output signal of the sensor. And then the weld joint was determined by using the central difference method. It was revealed that the quadratic mean method plays an important role in detecting the weld seam during welding especially.

  • From reverse-engineering's point of view, the main step is the digitizing or gathering three-dimensional points on the target physical model. As well known, the touch or scanning probe gives higher accuracy, while the non-contact digitizing apparatus by use of laser or structured light can rapidly obtain digitized points of great bulk without contacting onto the part surface of the physical model. We propose a digitizing methodology by use of the LK-031 laser displacement sensor, which was tested with a physical model.

Silicone/Pu 처리한 폴리에스테르/면 교직물 표면특성의 측정기법 비교

  • 본 연구에서는 표면처리를 달리한 폴리에스테르/면 교직물에 대한 표면특성의 측정기법을 비교·검토하였다. 시료로는 미처리 직물과 silicone 처리 직물, pu 코팅직물, silicone/pu 처리 직물을 이용하였다. 측정 기법은 비접촉식 방법으로 위치에 따른 직물 표면잔털의 grey scale을 FFT하여 그 대수값의 관계식의 기울기값을 결정하였다. 또한, 레이저 변위센서를 이용한 촉각 측정 장치에 의해 표면 거칠기와 표면마찰 계수를 측정하였다. 접촉식 방법으로는 평판과 직물을 접촉시켜 영상처리에 의해 접촉면적을 정량하고 fractal 차원을 도출하였다. KES-FB system에 의해 표면특성을 측정하였다. 주관적 접촉감각 평가는 표준환경에서 20명의 여성을 대상으로 실시하였고 분석에 ANOVA와 상관분석을 이용하였다. 측정기법에 따른 표면특성치와 주관적 감각평가치의 상관분석 결과, 접촉식 방법인 KES-FB에 의한 방법보다 다른 접촉식 방법인 영상처리에 의한 접촉면적, fractal 차원과 비접촉식 방법인 FFT 분석에 의한 기울기 및 레이저 변위센서에 의한 표면거칠기 결과가 주관적 접촉감각과 더욱 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타나 접촉 감각을 객관화하는데 보다 타당한 것으로 나타났다.

  • Inclinometer has several problems of 1)difficulty installing inclinometer casing, 2) measuring 2D local lateral displacement of retaining wall, 3) measurement by manpower. To solve such problems, a 2D LiDAR sensor-based retaining wall displacement measurement system was developed in previous studies. The purpose of this study is to select a displacement analysis algorithm to be applied in the retaining wall displacement measurement system. As a result of the displacement analysis algorithm selection, the M3C2 (Multiple Model to Model Cloud Comparison) algorithm with a displacement estimation error of 2mm was selected as the displacement analysis algorithm. If the M3C2 algorithm is applied in the system and the reliability of the displacement analysis result is secured through several field experiments. Convenient management of the displacement for the retaining wall is possible in comparison with the current measurement management.

  • In this research, the fiber Bragg grating sensors with long gauge for displacement measurement in the long distance is developed and tested. The sensors show an accuracy and a capability for displacement measurement oin long distance. Monitoring using static logger of system of FBG sensor with strained optical fiber shows the capability of measurement in the harsh environment such as strong wind. Measurement of long distance displacement by optical fiber sensor if use $250{\mu}m$ optical fiber and impose some strong pre-tension shows possibility in monitoring of nuclear containment structure.

Development of seam tracking sensing system for welding environment with wall (벽이 있는 용접 환경을 위한 용접선 검출 시스템 개발)

  • Both ends of welding line are often closed by wall in the welding of ship blocks. In this research, seam tracking sensing system for butt welding in the condition with wall was developed. Seam tracking sensing system measures position of carriage from wall and detects root-pass of welding line. The system consists of the laser displacement sensors and ultrasonic sensors. The laser displacement sensor reciprocal1y rotates by the motor and measures a distance from laser sensor to the welding material. The ultrasonic sensor measures a distance between welding system and walls. The distance measured by the ultrasonic sensor is used to get X(driving) position and to determine initial and end point of the weld line. Y(weaving) and Z(height) of the weld line are obtained by the distance measured by the laser displacement sensor and the orientation of the sensor. The sensing system includes the controller that is independent from the welding carriage. The seam tracking sensing system is attached to both side of welding carriage so that interference between welding torch and sensing system can be avoided during the welding. And both side sensing system minimize dead zone. Finally, developed sensing system was adhered to welding carriage and verified usefulness by experiments.

Design of a Displacement and Velocity Measurement System Based on Environmental Characteristic Analysis of Laser Sensors for Automatic Mooring Devices (레이저 센서의 환경적 특성 분석에 기반한 선박 자동계류장치용 변위 및 속도 측정시스템 설계)

  • To prevent accidents near the quay caused by a ship, ports are generally designed and constructed through navigation and berthing safety assessment. However, unpredictable accidents such as ship collisions with the quay or personal accidents caused by ropes still occur sometimes during the ship berthing or mooring process. Automatic mooring systems, which are equipped with an attachment mechanism composed of robotic manipulators and vacuum pads, are designed for rapid and safe mooring of ships. This paper deals with a displacement and velocity measurement system for the automatic mooring device, which is essential for the position and speed control of the vacuum pads. To design a suitable system for an automatic mooring device, we first analyze the sensor's performance and outdoor environmental characteristics. Based on the analysis results, we describe the configuration and design methods of a displacement and velocity measurement system for application in outdoor environments. Additionally, several algorithms for detecting the sensor's state and estimating a ship's velocity are developed. The proposed method is verified through some experiments for displacement and speed measurement targeted at a moving object with constant speed.
