In this analysis of relationships among parent-child communication style, child's sense of identity, and their effects on child's peer relationships, a survey was conducted of 506 6th grade students in 3 elementary schools of Incheon City. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analyses. Results showed that : girls had higher scores in academic identity and more positive factors in peer relationships than boys; when communications between parents and children were more open, peer relationships were more positive and less negative; children with a stronger sense of identity had more positive factors in peer relationships; social identity was the most influential factor in positive and general identity was the most influential factor in negative peer relationships, respectively.
This study explored how communication with parents, relations with teachers and intra- and extra-mural activities were related to peer relationships. Data were collected from 453 middle school students in the city of Iksan. Results showed that students with more harmonious communication with parents reported more desirable peer relationships. More familiar and friendly relations with teachers was also associated with more harmonious peer relationships. As adolescents appeared more vigorous in intra- and extra-mural activities, they had friendlier peer relationships. Gender, communication with fathers, relations with teachers, and intra- and extra-mural activities had significant effects on peer relationships. Relations with teachers was the best predictor for peer relationships.
This study examined the effectiveness of a social competence program for mentally challenged(IQ 58-74) and/or somewhat autistic 6- and 7-year old children with peer relationship difficulties. The Hierarchical Model of Social Competence by Guralnick(1992) provided the framework of the experimental program. The intervention consisted of 16 sessions: 2 intervention teachers implemented each session for 90 minutes once a week. Target behaviors were to initiate interactions with others, to respond to behaviors of teachers and peers, to participate in group activities, and to express their needs to others with speech. Data on the frequencies of target behaviors, the behavior episodes and parent reports were analyzed. Most of children became to be more sociable, although there were individual differences in the changes in target behaviors.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the interaction and effects of shame and parent-child communication on children and early adolescents' peer pressure. The subjects of this study were 359 children and early adolescents from 5th grade in elementary school to 2nd grade in middle school (187 boys, and 172 girls) in Daejeon city. The results of this research indicated that gender and age played a significant role on the effects of shame and parent-child communication on peer pressure. Open communication with mothers showed a positive relationship with boys' peer pressure, whereas open communication with father showed a negative relationship with boys' peer pressure. The interaction effects of shame and open-communication with fathers and mothers worked differently on peer pressure across gender and age. Interaction effects of shame and open communication with fathers and mothers were significant for boys, but not for girls. Interaction effect of shame and open communication with mothers was significant for children and adolescents.
This study investigated the relationship between conflict issues and resolution strategies in pretend play. Also, the relations among frequency of internal state terms, conflict resolution, and communicative strategies were examined. 704 and 5 year old preschoolers, each paired with self-chosen peer, were observed and videotaped during 20-minute play session. Findings revealed that conflict issues were associated with resolution strategies. Internal state language and communicative strategies were related with conflict resolutions in pretend play, which shared with socio-emotional ability.
The purpose of this case study was to construct a social context-based musical play program for children with high-functioning Autism Spectrum disorder (ASD) and to examine its applicability in improving the social skills of the children. The participants were a group of three children with high-functioning ASD with an average age of 9 years. The children participated as a group in 40-minute sessions that were implemented twice a week for 8 weeks. The children's social communication behaviors were observed during the sessions and analyzed in terms of sharing and exchanging their ideas and voluntarily interacting with peers and an adult (i.e., the researcher). The Social Skills Rating System (SSRS) was completed by the teachers of participants before and after the intervention. For all three participants, the occurrence of behaviors to exchange their ideas with peers and voluntarily interacting with an adult increased following the intervention. However, there were individual differences between the participants in terms of changes in each target behavior depending on their level of language and social skill development. These results suggest that social context-based musical play program may produce positive changes in voluntary communication with peers and play a significant role in expanding the scope of interventions that target the social communication of children with ASD.

The findings of this study were as follows First, the boys were more addicted to internet use than the girls, as were the children of less educated parents. The children of parents with professional careers were less addicted to the internet. The children who perceived their school achievements as low were more addicted to the internet. Second, the children who spent more time daily, longer time at once and more frequently per weekly internet use were more addicted. Third, internet addiction was influenced tv parent-child communication and peer relationship. Boys who had more problem communications with their parents less open communication with their mother and a lower level of peer support were more addicted to the internet. The purpose of this study was to discriminate important variables among general self-efficacy, peer attachment, and parent-child communication that could predict internalizing problems(anxiety, depression) of Korean children of divorce. The participants were 101 children aged from 10 to 13. They completed questionnaires and discriminant function analyses were performed. The results showed that (a) the discriminant function derived from 3 variables was effective in classifying high, moderate, and low group of children's anxiety and depression, (b) parent-child communication plays a key role in predicting anxiety and general self-efficacy plays a key role in predicting depression of Korean children of divorce, (c) but peer attachment plays a significant role only to predict depression. This means that anxiety and depression of Korean children of divorce result from different kind of interactions among children's important contexts.

Over time, the structure of the relationship between the cause and the effect has shown mostly consistent results.
The purpose of this study is provides an implication of further teaching learning process by analyze the common and difference and characteristic of mathematical self-efficiency between three peer tutoring groups discourse in the mathematical teaching leaning process that use peer tutoring. To achieve this goal, three groups formed that consist of one peer tutor who received a first grade of mathematic achievement and one peer student. Peer student of each group is divided into high grade, middle grade, low grade of mathematic achievement. Then analyze the discourse in the exponential function problem solving process. Based on the results of study, this paper provides a concrete example of merit of peer tutoring on the peer tutor. Result of study also provides a practical help to make a peer tutoring group by considering a difference of grades between peer tutor and peer student. Because there is a possibility of mutual discourse on the tutoring group that consist of similar grades.
