본 연구는 HD 복합TV 사용자의 시청행태 및 사용자 니즈 분석을 통해 사용자 시나리오를 도출하여 실제 제품에 적용할 수 있는 DTV 인터페이스 디자인의 일반적인 원리를 발견하고 대형 DTV 화면에 적합한 OSD디자인을 개발하여 디지털 복합 TV에 적합한 새로운 디자인 가이드라인을 제안하는 것을 그 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 DTV 시청환경을 기반으로 PVR, EPF, 녹화, 1394 등 다양한 기능에 대한 사용 시나리오를 정의하고 유저 내비게이션 특성을 반영한 OSD디자인 방향을 검토하였고 개발환경인 50인치 PDP 화면에 적합한 레이아웃을 제작하여 사용자조사를 통해 검증하였다. 사례연구로 최근 이슈가 되고 있는 타임머신 기능 X Canvas PDP의 OSD 디자인을 개발하여 양산용 제품에 적용할 수 있었다. 대표적인 특징으로 복합 TV 의 Gateway 인 홈메뉴, PVR 기능의 핵심인 프로그래스바, 모든 컨텐츠에 일관되게 적용할 수 있는 목록화면, 녹화관련화면에 공통적으로 적용할 수 있도록 폰트,칼라,레이아웃,위젯 정의를 수행하여 각 기능별 화면들이 Package개념으로 Identity를 갖추면서 사용하기 편리하도록 구성하였다. 그리고 이를 통하여 DTV Application Design에 일반적으로 적용할 수 있는 메뉴구조 및 화면디자인 가이드라인을 도출하였고 세계최초로 자사에서 개발한 하드디스크 내장 HD TV Application GUI 의 사용성 및 심미성 측면을 모두 만족시키는 등 DTV GUI 분야에서 주목할 만한 성과를 거두었다.

Although the data service of the digital broadcasting has been regarded as the representative service of the broadcasting and communication convergence, it, however, has failed to gain the popularity with the viewers due to the viewer's viewing modality of focusing only on the TV programs. Based on the experts' opinions that the data service should step up so that using a data service while watching a TV program creates a synergy effect, the paper proposes a method for allowing a data service to utilize the information of a TV program. The method has a tool for describing the information of a TV program's content, which changes as time goes on and provides a mechanism for transmitting the information in the way compatible to the digital broadcasting standard. As an application of the method, with a domestic data service developing company, we have developed a ticker data service that shows the information (e.g., actors, places, sponsors, etc.) of a drama.

For this study, we conducted a survey targeting elementary school students to examine how the type of family communication shows differences in the children's use of media to draw up effective measures to use media. The result of study is that meaningful differences showed according to the time spent watching TV(F=6.719, p<.05) and using PC(F=7.713, p<.05) or cell phone(F=6.404, p<.05). The authoritative type pursuing obedience preferred entertainment programs and spent much time watching TV and preferred entertainment games when using a PC. The deliberating type pursuing conversations preferred educational and informative programs when watching TV and informative programs when using a PC. This study is meaningful in that it presents lessons learned to draw up measures for children to effectively use media based on the study results.

Recently, as TV home shopping has entered into the stage of stability, competition between the same lines of business has become more intense. Thus, this research goals have been determined in order to analyze the purchase intent of customers related with the genre and tempo of background music of TV home shopping by different types of products. In order to achieve the research goals, thorough research on related literatures have been conducted and found out about the background music. Furthermore, the characteristics of background music of actual TV home shopping broadcasting have been analyzed, focusing on the genre and tempo of the music. In addition, a survey has been conducted in order to verify what kind of music genre and tempo of the background music has an influence on the highest purchase intent of the chosen three products(sportswear, household appliances, fresh and processed foods). This study investigated the influence of background music of TV home shopping in relation to the purchase intent of customers. Also, this study has significance in the sense that it analyzed the causal relationship between the background music of home shopping and reactions of customers by categorizing products in details and using the music genre and tempo as the independent variables that affect the purchase intent of customers.

우리나라는 세계 TV 시장의 선두에서 산업을 주도하고 있으나 최근 중국의 거대 내수시장 및 기술 개발 등의 기반에 따른 추격의 위협을 받고 있다. 스마트미디어 산업으로의 패러다임 전환과 스마트 TV의 등장으로 이러한 중국의 추격에 대응할 수 있는 경쟁우위 전략을 모색해 본 결과 소비자 주도형 콘텐츠 혁신이 새로운 기술적 관점의 기회의 창으로써 제시되었으며 이는 향후 우리나라 소프트웨어 산업의 발전에 긍정적 영향을 끼칠 것으로 판단된다.

This paper describes a study of terrestrial digital TV transmission systems using wideband opto-electronic techniques such as electro-absorption modulators, wavelength division multiplex to support cost effective, high speed, flexible and interactive digital TV networks including ultra-high speed subscriber networks. In particular, the national DTV networks to be installed is required huge amount of cost. Therefore, the network should be carefully designed for DTV, communication and multimedia services in the future. In this paper, wideband optoelectronic DTV systems are suggested.

In the 21st century, it may be possible to offer comprehensive service by integrating all communication media under the development of digital technology without the classification of broadcasting and communication. In addition, it will be begun to perform HDTV broadcasting by focusing on the Metropolitan area in 2001yr and will permit over 100 channels for satellite communication, thus multi-channel TV broadcasting age has come in Korea. Therefore, this study is to identify the future environment of TV broadcasting and service area in ISDB age and to present new interactive type publication satellite TV transmission system, which provides customizing type digital screen book publication by analyzing satellite broadcasting technology to create Korean cultural area around the Korean peninsula.

The personal video recorder is a consumer electronics device that records television shows to a hard disk in digital format. In this paper, we propose an implementation method of personal video recorder for digital TV. The proposed personal video recorder includes cpu and system control modules, graphics and display module, audio DSP module, digital I/O module, NIM module, graphic software library, and embedded software modules for providing a lot of PVR functions such as live or reserved recordings, browsing of recorded content list, trick play and time shifting. Especially, combining trick play with time shifting makes much more convenient functions such as pausing live TV, instant replay of interesting scenes, and skipping advertising.

Current paper introduces the additional multimedia module for digital TV. The module is developed for displaying the image captured by digital still camera, camcorder, or PC in the digital TV. For these purpose, the module has the interface circuit for accessing five media type of memory cards. It decodes JPEG, BMP, or TIFF image data saved in the memory card and converts the image data to analog RGB signal. It also supports three types of output image size from HD to WXGA resolution. So the introduced module could be adopted In the most of digital TV.

HbbTV는 2009년 독일과 프랑스를 중심으로 하여 유럽 방송연합(EBU)에 의해 인정받은 범 유럽 하이브리드 방송 브로드 밴드의 표준 이다. 이후 HbbtTV컨소시엄은 "HBBTV 1.5" 규격으로 까지 진화시켜 ETSI TS 102 796 표준으로 인정받게 되었다. 현재까지 독일과 프랑스등 유럽을 중심으로 상용 서비스가 활발하며 유럽뿐 아니라 비 유럽 국가들도 기존 디지털 TV의 보완 및 발전과 함께 HbbTV의 도입을 적극 검토하고 있다. 이러한 추세에 힘입어 EU FP7은 HBB-NEXT콘소시엄 통해서 현재의 hbbTV를 발전시켜 차세대 HbbTV규격을 만들기 위해 "HBB-NEXT" 연구 프로젝트를 수행하고 있다. 본 고에서는 범 유럽에서 차세대 하이브리드 미디어 서비스의 주축이 될 HBB-NEXT 규격의 진행상황, 구성, 주요 기술적인 이슈 등에 대해서 살펴보고 나아가서 향후 표준화 및 상용화 전망에 대해서 알아본다.
