  • Quantum information and communication technology(QICT) holds out tremendous promise for efficiently solving some of the most difficult problems that are intractable on any present or future conventional computer. QICT is one of the most active research areas of modern science, attracting substantial funding that supports research groups at internationally leading academic institutions. To facilitate the progress of QICT research towards the commercialization, a roadmap needs to be formulated, providing some direction for the field with specific technical goals and elucidating interrelationships between approaches for synergistic solutions to obstacles within any one approach. In this paper, we suggest a brief version of roadmap for QICT research and give a discussion about the potential contribution of QICT in Korea industry.

  • The practice of producing and transmitting TV programs with uneven loudness can harm audiences' welfare in the digital environment where audiences are entitled to be offered quality broadcasting service. The purpose of this paper is to investigate issues concerning the digital loudness policy institutionalized in Korea since May 2016, and to offer policy suggestions. This paper reviews previous studies on audience welfare in digital broadcasting, focusing on the close link between loudness policy and audience welfare. In order to explore the state of international policy, this paper examines loudness standards developed by international standardization organizations including ITU, ATSC, and EBU, along with loudness regulations in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Korea, respectively. Based on the analysis, this paper suggests recommendations for policy makers and broadcasters. First, policies on mandating regular monitoring and establishing penality system should be established for broadcasters not to violate loudness standards. Second, broadcasters are recommended to collect audience feedback, to be equipped with loudness measuring devices, to offer personnel training programs, and to check the compliance of loudness standards when they outsource TV programs.

  • Recently, companies seek a way to overcome their financial crisis by reducing costs in the field of IT. In such a circumstance, cloud computing is rapidly emerging as an optimal solution to the crisis. Even in a digital forensic investigation, whether users of an investigated system have used a cloud service is a very important factor in selecting additional investigated subjects. When a user has used cloud services, such as Daum Cloud and Google Docs, it is possible to connect to the could service from a remote place by acquiring the user's log-in information. In such a case, evidence data should be collected from the remote place for an efficient digital forensic investigation, and it is needed to conduct research on the collection and analysis of data from various kinds of cloud services. Thus, this study suggested a digital forensic framework considering cloud environments by investigating collection and analysis techniques for each cloud service.

  • The development of the computer widens the expressive ways for the nature objects and the scenes. The cutting edge computer graphics technologies effectively create any images we can imagine. Although the computer graphics plays an important role in filming and video production, the status of the domestic contents production industry is not favorable for producing and research all at the same time. In digital composition, the match moving stage, which composites the captured real sequence with computer graphics image, goes through many complicating processes. The camera tracking process is the most important issue in this stage. This comprises the estimation of the 3D trajectory and the optical parameter of the real camera. Because the estimating process is based only on the captured sequence, there are many errors which make the process more difficult. In this paper we propose the method for correcting the tracking data. The proposed method can alleviate the unwanted camera shaking and object bouncing effect in the composited scene.

  • As the number of foreign tourists increases worldwide, it provides tourism services with various information and convenience. Most foreign tourists have difficulty using existing methods that require internet connection because internet communication is restrictive. In this paper, we propose a mobile device based digital signage via WPAN that can support multi-lingual for foreign tourists. the proposed method shows a menu by combining a template of mobile client with fundamental contents from digital signage through WPAN. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, it is compared with a conventional webpage method. The results of the evaluation confirm that the latency decreases compared to the conventional webpage method due to the improved loading time.

  • As success stories of using virtual reality (VR) have become more prevalent, interest in performance-related technology has rapidly increased around the world. Performances such as, Cirque du Soleil had much success in using video technology, these VR applications have enabled experiences using digital image technology. However, critics have claimed that the completeness and diversity of visual content is reduced, due to insufficient storylines, spatial composition, and partial use of the entire visual field. Therefore, the design of a performance using digital image technology should consider the characteristics of the production stage to be different from real world performances. In this study, the visual space of the stage, the method of creating space for the stage, and the movement of the performer and utilization of the performance was analyzed. Through this, It transferred the limitation of the traditional stage into the space and time of the image and opened the possibilities of the tran-media.

  • The master plan for the land management information system development was established in 1997 and demonstration projects were carried out in Nam-gu, Daegu Metropolis in 1998. As of the end of 2001, 12 project areas have completed installing the land management information system and are now utilizing it in operations or in trial operation and 88 areas are still under construction. Sixteen metropolises and provinces and 232 cities, counties and districts plan to complete the development of land management information system by 2004 and additionally Install a land information center to manage and maintain the land management information system. The land management information system was introduced as one of information technologies to solve the problems arising in the operations of land management and administration. It inevitably accompanies a radical change of working environment, from analogue to digital. It is obviously not a simple job and largely depends on how to entice the officials working in analogue settings into a digitalized world. Therefore, it is not too much to say that the success of the land management information system development project depends on how to rationally adapt the analogue land administrations to a digital environment.

  • The Korean animation has enjoyed the brisk formation and establishment of its world-class infra for the last several years without unified titles or concepts, under the name of a national strategic project in the age of digital image. It also enjoys its new evaluation as digital animation that it's one of the greatest money making business in the non-education and frivolous culture and has the closest relations with the modern time. A great portion of popular image media has been taken by animation for the last 30 years. In this paper we propose a motion algorithm using an animation technology. It was developed for education purposed and accessible through the internet. For instance, in Cyber Clam Museum, 1000 gesture contents, the visual processes were used to design a screen with a realistic image and create an animation that makes possible show at 360 and every such transformation as translation, rotation, and scaling can be applied in the image interactively for the convenient and effective viewing.

  • In this paper, dual-band digital codec for UHF(Ultra High Frequency) and MW(Micro Wave) is proposed for an RFID reader system. Most RFID systems have been supported only one protocol. But, There are many protocols of each bandwidth. Especially, UHF bandwidth which is widely used on the globe consists of A,B,C type, and more standards will be established. Recently, Since an interest about mobile RFID system is increasing, the RFID system with more than one protocol will be need. Therefore, this paper suggests a dual-band digital codec with UHF and MW bands for an RFID reader system. Standards used in this system are 18000-6C and 18000-4 standards. The digital codec is synthesize by the Quartus II compiler. Target device is EPC20Q240C8 which is family of CycloneII. Main Clock is 19.2MHz and elements of FPGA which is used for the system is 18,752.

  • Generally, a paper book that is digitalized or a method of giving information to user in a form of paper book after digitalization is called ebook. Due to the rapid spread of internet and development of digital information technology, ebook has become an important issue globally. Not only can ebook send information efficiently but the price is low and compared to paper books it is more effective in sending information by using technologies like multimedia. However, ebook markets have problems to grow because there are different ebook formats. In this study, we will explain about the development of Electronic Book of Korea Standard(EBKS) to solve the problems. The purpose of EBKS is the exact exchange for ebook contents. To archive this purpose, we define the explict logical structure for documents and recommend metadata for doemetic enviroments and XSL-FO to provide high-quality layout. We expect that the establishment of EBKS will greatly contribute to growth of ebook markets by preventing the duplicable investment for contents and technologies.
