Real time Monitoring System using Web Camera (웹 카메라를 통한 실시간 모니터링 시스템)

  • As security and surveillance have become the center of interest, remote controlled CCTV(Closed-Circuit Television) market has been formed while rapid development of digital image compression technology and Internet triggered the advent of web cameras. The characteristic of web camera is that it can provide users with higher quality image than CCTV at any place where Internet access is available. However, As for the system administrator, the existing web camera have disadvantage in that they allows users only. who are connected to the server of the web camera, to see the image from it. In this paper, in order to make up for this defect, designed multi-vision interface showing multi images on single screen and, for the purpose of the improvement in efficiency, the functions of saving images and of scheduling the time to save the images.

  • With development in computing and networking technologies, national supports and attention for building digital library, which is to overcome the limits of time and location in using information resources, is increasing. To accomplish the main goal of digital library that is to freely share and transfer information on network, the importance of standardization in developing electronic document is increasing. Now several tools to develop electronic document, which will be used in digital library, are developed for electronic document used on WWW. But none of them has absolute advantages to other formats. Those tools, that is, have comparative advantages and disadvantages for making electronic documents. Through reviewing features and analyzing comparative advantage and disadvantage of SGML, HTML, and PDF, which will be used to develop electronic documents in digital libraries, this study focuses on their comparative advantages and disadvantages. With doing it, this study propose relevant type of electronic document formats to the types of information resources.

  • Smart Camera provides intelligent vision functionalities which can interpret captured video, extract context-aware information and execute a necessary action in real-timeliness in addition to the functionality of network cameras which transmit the compressed acquired videos through networks. Intelligent vision algorithms demand tremendous computations so that real-time processing of computation of intelligent vision algorithms as well as compression and transmission of videos simultaneously is too much burden for a single CPU. Davinci processor of Texas Instruments is a popular ASSP(Application Specific Standard Product) which has dual core architecture of ARM core and DSP core and provides various I/O interfaces as well as networking interface and video acquiring interface necessary for developing digital video embedded applications. In this paper, we report the results of designing and implementing S/W for Davinci-based smart camera. We implement a face detection as an example of vision application and verify the implementation works well. In the future, for the development of a smart camera with more broad and real-time vision functionalities, it is necessary to study about more efficient vision application S/W architecture and optimization of vision algorithms on DSP core of Davichi processor.

A Comparative Study on Healthcare Autonomous Vehicle Technologies between South Korea and the US Based on Social N etwork Analysis (헬스케어 관련 자율주행 자동차 기술 한미 비교 연구 : 사회연결망 분석을 중심으로)

  • The rapid increase of ageing population and chronic disease patients cause high medical expenses, and it led an increased attention to digital healthcare. Smart car technologies for healthcare have been developing to recognize drivers' status and predict diverse driving environments. The present study aimed to understand the research trends of autonomous vehicle technologies of Korea and the United States through time series analysis, network analysis, visualization, and comparison between the two countries. The results suggest that cooperative study needs to be done in common research areas such as driver's safety and algorithms. It is also needed to conduct studies and benchmark about liking technique related to part-to-part and vehicle-to-vehicle as America's competitive advantaged area. In the US, diverse approaches of autonomous vehicle technologies have used to consider the characteristics of various age groups and passengers' health status through sensor, while in Korea, only one aspect, older drivers, is mentioned. Implications for the development direction of autonomous vehicle technologies with competitiveness in considering public health, ethics, and driver's safety and convenience are discussed in detail.

  • Induction motors are a critical component of many industrial processes and are frequently integrated in commercially available equipment. Safety, reliability, efficiency, and performance are some of the major concerns of induction motor applications. Fault tolerant control (FTC) strives to make the system stable and retain acceptable performance under the system faults. All present FTC method can be classified into two groups. The first group is based on fault detection and diagnostics (FDD). The second group is includes of FDD and includes methods such as integrity control, reliable stabilization and simultaneous stabilization. This paper presents the fundamental FDD-based FTC methods, which are capable of on-line detection and diagnose of the induction motors. Therefore, our group has developed the embedded distributed fault tolerant and fault diagnosis system for industrial motor. This paper presents its architecture. These mechanisms are based on two 32-bit DSPs and each TMS320F2407 DSP module processes the stator current, voltage, temperatures, vibration signal of the motor.

  • Digitalization of the substation in Korea has been in progress so far with focusing on Station Bus. However, its application to Process Bus has been delayed due to some technical issues. IEDs based on Process Bus use the data values of SV and GOOSE. As the size of communication data on Process Bus is comparatively bigger than that of Station Bus, it is very important for the evaluating the performance of Process Bus to analyze the transferring speed and quality of data from the first equipment, which is located on process level, to station level. According to the results of related studies, it is said that the most important factor for the design and operation of Process Bus network is the communication delay with consideration of the volume of packets. In the paper, the results of performance test for the network with and without application of VLAN on Process Bus system that uses integrated IEDs are presented. Additionally, the paper proposes the optimal method to analyze the communication delays of network systems through evaluating the maximum delay time, link process ratio and the amount of lost packets by using a simulation tool.

Bandwidth-Efficient Multi-Code Modulation Scheme (대역폭 효율적인 다중 부호 변조 방식)

  • As a general rule, the orthogonal modulation scheme which is widely used for wireless communications is not appropriate for the high speed data transmission applications due to the low bandwidth efficiency. Therefore, to increase the bandwidth efficiency of the conventional orthogonal modulation, we propose the multi-code trans-(bi-)orthogonal modulation in this paper. It is the combined scheme of multi-code modulation and trans-orthogonal modulation. We can know that the bandwidth efficiency of the proposed scheme is better than that of the conventional orthogonal modulation. Additionally, the receiver complexity of the proposed scheme is lower than that of the conventional orthogonal modulation. The proposed scheme can be used for the physical layer of the high speed wireless digital data transmission applications such as multimedia communications system and high speed personal area networks.

Effect of Ozone Treatment of Carbon Nanotube on PTC/NTC Behaviors of High-Density Polyethylene Matrix Composites (오존처리에 따른 탄소나노튜브 강화 고밀도 폴리에틸렌 기지 복합재료의 PTC/NTC 특성)

  • In this paper, the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were ozonized and the positive temperature coefficient (PTC) behaviors of CNTs-filled high-density polyethylene (HDPE) conductive composites were studied. The results of element analysis (EA) and FT-IR indicate that the oxygen-containing functional groups on the CNTs surfaces, such as O-H, C-O, and C=O groups, were increased with the ozonization. Electrical resistivities of the CNTs/HDPE composites were measured by using a digital multimeter. The resistivity of the composites was increased abruptly near the crystalline melting temperature of the HDPE used as matrix, which could be attributed to the destruction of conductive network by the thermal expansion of HDPE. And, the PTC intensity of the CNTs/HDPE composites was increased with the increase of the ozone treatment time. It was probably due to the growing of maximum volume resistivity of the composites induced by the increased oxygen-containing functional groups in the CNTs surfaces.

  • 스마트워터그리드(Smart Water Grid; 이하 SWG)란 현재 직면에 있는 물 부족, 물 안보, 물 복지 등 물에 대한 문제를 ICT 기술을 활용하여 물관리의 새로운 패러다임을 제시할 수 있는 융합 기술이다. 즉, SWG는 기존의 수자원 관리 시스템의 한계를 극복하기 위해 첨단 정보통신기술을 이용하는 고효율의 차세대 인프라 시스템으로 다양한 수원을 활용하고 물을 효율적으로 배분 관리 운송하여 수자원의 불균형을 해소하고, 첨단센서네트워크를 이용해 용수관리 전분야에 걸쳐 양방향 실시간으로 용수정보를 감시 대응하여 용수관리와 에너지 효율의 최적화된 메가시티(mega-city)에 적합한 지능형 물관리가 가능할 것으로 예상되는 시스템이다. 따라서 국토교통부 과제로 추진중인 SWG 연구단에서 개발한 스마트 워터 기술을 영종도 112 블록에 적용하여 지역주민의 물복지 향상 및 물 사용자에 대한 소비자 만족도를 높이는데 목적을 두고 데모플랜트를 구축 방안을 수립하였다. 영종도 112블록(인천 운서동 및 운북동 일원)은 인천 공촌정수장에서 해저관로를 지나 영종통합 가압장에서 가압 후 공항신도시배수지에서 물을 공급받고 있는 지역으로 면적은 $17.41km^2$, 인구는 약 17,000명, 물사용량 $8,000m^3$/일, 총관로연장 약 55km, 유수율이 겨우 73.2% 지역이다. SWG 적용성 평가를 위해 영종도 112 블록에 유수율 제고 및 운영비용 저감을 목적으로 데모플랜트를 구축하였다. 스마트 계측을 위해 스마트미터 469개(15~20mm), 디지털미터 172개(25~200mm), 누수유무센서 1개소, 다항목 수질측정기 1개소, 유량계 3개소, 수압계 5개소, AMI 시스템 641개 및 물효율 운영프로그램과 물정보 App서비스 기능으로 구성하였다. 물효율 운영프로그램은 실시간 수요량 예측, 배수지 운영에 따른 취수량, 송수량, 펌프 대수조합 및 운전스케줄링이 가능한 경제적 물공급 스케줄링, 관망상태 감시 및 제어(실시간 유량/수압 분석을 통한 누수분석) 기능이 탑재되어 통합운영센터에서 운영할 계획이다. 데모플랜트 운영을 통해 수자원의 효율적인 배분 및 공급, 유지관리 향상, 운영 비용 최소화 등의 결과를 바탕으로 신도시 및 기존도시의 물관리 정책수립에 활용할 수 있을 뿐만아니라 시간적 공간적 불균형 해소 및 물시장 발전에 크게 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

  • Digital devices that apply Ubiquitous-IT Convergence in ship manufacture are used as ship automation device. Need sailing data recording of ship black box that equip integrity and consecutiveness as legal confesser fare that inquire responsibility whereabouts of disaster such as fire of ship. It is research that create Forensic data from ship black box using Multidimensional networking that use ZigBee radio short distance communications division Wireless LAN with short distance RFID sensor that is used in ship in this treatise, UWB communication, GPS and artificial satellite. Sailing recording of shipping that is recorded to black box is transmited, and stores doubly by real time on ship insurance company and ship administration recording membrane using SHA-1 hash function and secure consecutiveness and integrity as Forensic data through artificial satellite encoding by 3DES 1024bit.
