Transformation of the Music Market brought about by Technology (테크놀로지가 가져온 음악 시장의 변혁)

  • As technology advances, various applications linked to the music industry are becoming popular through new media. There have been many changes in the music market. Beyond the existing music market, where music copyright and performance rights were the center of the music business, we are unifying and operating communication channels that connect artists and fans, such as investment products derived from music copyrights. The technology that connects the fandom with additional business digital content has transformed into global platforms such as HYBE Entertainment's and YG Entertainment's Weverse, as well as SM Entertainment's Bubble. In addition, various national support projects to build a 5G MEC (MobileEdge Computing) environment to quickly respond to the rapidly changing 5G industry ecosystem are supporting for the immersive content demonstration, immersive content testing, and technical analysis, we are laying the groundwork to efficiently respond to the ever-expanding metaverse content market. Technology is changing dramatically. Therefore, we would like to study to changes in the music market brought about by technology and suggest strategies for a new era in the music business.

  • 최근 들어 햅틱 분야는 디지털 콘텐츠를 만질 수 있게 촉감을 제공함으로써 의학, 교육, 군사, 엔터테인먼트, 방송 분야 등에서 널리 연구되고 있다. 그러나 햅틱 분야가 사용자에게 시청각 정보와 더불어 추가적인 촉감을 제공함으로써 보다 실감 있고 자연스러운 상호작용을 제공하는 등 여러 가지 장점을 가진 것에 비해 아직은 일반 사용자들에게 생소한 분야다. 그 이유 중 하나로 촉감 상호작용이 가능한 콘텐츠의 부재를 들 수 있다. 또한 최근에 가상환경(Virtual Environment, VR)에 관심이 증가 되고, 가상환경에 햅틱이라는 기술을 접목시키는 시도가 많이 일어나고 있어서, 촉감 모델링에 대한 욕구 또한 증대 되고 있다. 일반적으로 촉감 모델링은 Material properties를 가지고 있는 그래픽 모델들로 구성이 된다. 그래픽 모델링은 일반적인 모델링툴 (MAYA, 3D MAX, 기타 등)으로 할 수 있다. 하지만 촉감 관련된 촉감 모델들은 콘텐츠를 제작한 이후에 일일이 수작업으로 넣어 주어야 한다. 그래픽 모델링에서는 사용자가 직접 눈으로 확인 하면서 작업을 이루어 지기 때문에 직관적으로 이루어질 수 있다. 이와 비슷하게 촉감 모델링은 직관적인 모델링을 하기 위해서 사용자가 직접 촉감을 느껴 보면서 진행이 되어야 한다. 또한 그래픽 모델링과 촉감 모델링이 동시에 진행이 되지 않기 때문에 촉감 콘텐츠를 만드는데 시간이 많이 걸리게 되고 직관적이지 못하는 단점이 있다. 더 나아가서 이런 촉감 모델링을 포함한 모델링 높은 생산성을 위해서 신속히 이루어져야 한다. 이런 이유들 때문에 촉감 모델링을 위한 새로운 인터페이스가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 촉감 상호작용이 가능한 촉감 콘텐츠를 직관적으로 생성하고 조작할 수 있게 하는 촉감 모델러를 기술한다. 촉감 모델러에서 사용자는 3 자유도 촉감 장치를 사용하여 3 차원의 콘텐츠 (정적 이거나 동적이거나 Deformation이 가능한 2D, 2.5D, 3D Scene)를 실시간으로 만져보면서 생성, 조작할 수 있는 촉감 사용자 인터페이스 (Haptic User Interface, HUI)를 통해서 콘텐츠의 표면 촉감 특성을 직관적으로 편집할 수 있다. 촉감 사용자인터페이스는 마우스로 조작하는 기존의 2 차원 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 포함하여 3 차원으로 사용자 인터페이스도 추가되어 있고 그 형태는 촉감 장치로 조작할 수 있는 버튼, 라디오버튼, 슬라이더, 조이스틱의 구성요소로 이루어져있다. 사용자는 각각의 구성요소를 조작하여 콘텐츠의 표면 촉감 특성 값을 바꾸고 촉감 사용자 인터페이스의 한 부분을 만져 그 촉감을 실시간으로 느껴봄으로써 직관적으로 특성 값을 정할 수 있다. 또한, XML 기반의 파일포맷을 제공함으로써 생성된 콘텐츠를 저장할 수 있고 저장된 콘텐츠를 불러오거나 다른 콘텐츠에 추가할 수 있다. 이러한 시스템은 햅틱이라는 분야를 잘 모르는 사람들도 직관적으로 촉감 모델링을 하는데 큰 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

  • In accordance with the digital broadcast data converted, the number of the service provider, and content channel for interaction with the viewer has increased exponentially. Electronic program guide in such a multi-channel time(Electronic Program Guide, EPG) is an essential requirement, and also from day to day EPG generation technique according to the user's requirements. But the current situation is getting EPG to viewers outside for reasons such as absence, lack of accurate information, organizing techniques utilized lack of standard systems. In this article, we describe the State and EPG solution to the problem of these terrestrial stations. This, the EPG information and the actual broadcast time of the terrestrial channel 6 using a ground wave receiving method for a direct comparison was studied the problems and the average error of the current start. Also this research perform to enhance accuracy of EPG information.

An Empirical Study on the Success Factors of Digital Classical Music (클래식 음원의 흥행요인에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This study conducted an exploratory empirical analysis on the factors affecting the performance of digital classical music based on signaling theory. For this purpose, using the classical weekly chart provided by the music platform Genie, 297 digital music sources that entered the top 100 chart from March 2020 to October 2020 (35 weeks). In this study, as signals that can influence consumers' choice to listen to classical nusic, we set an the artist's award history, artist's broadcast content linkage, taking the top spot in the first classical music chart entry, producing companies' competency, and the popularity of classical music repertoire. The effect of these signals on the chart success of digital classical music was verified subsequently. As a result of the verification, it was found that the artist's broadcast content linkage, taking the top spot in the first classical music chart entry, and the popularity of the classical music repertoire indeed had a positive effect on the chart success of a classical music. On the other hand, the artist's award history and the producing companies' competence did not significantly affect the chart success of digital classical music. This study is the first empirical study on the success factors of digital classical music performed from a business perspective, and is expected to contribute to subsequent studies related to classical music.

  • One of the recent important issues in IT fields is the convergence. It had been simply focused on functional convergence of technologyies. However the convergence in terms of businesses or services also has been made in recent years. The convergence between broadcasting and telecommunication industries can be possible because the e-transformation of broadcasting industry based on digital technology such as multimedia and multi-channel, can be combined with the high speed telecommunication network. It is giving a birth of various convergence services such as IPTV. IPTV is a kind of new service that is combined with the convergence of network, contents, and device. Nevertheless the controversy about the scope and the value of this new convergence service has constantly been raised; for example, what is the difference between IPTV and Internet TV? or what are the benefits that customers can have? This study measured the expectation level and the cognitive level of users before and after using the service and analyzed the gap between the importance and the satisfaction of the service. From this study, we proposed the priority of each function by analysing Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) method to suggest required functions of IPTV service based on N-Screen technology. This study will identify the gap of awareness level between service providers and end users for the functions of broadcasting and telecommunications convergence service and suggest a solution enhancing user satisfaction.

  • In this paper, the consolidation of ICT basic legislation and ICT special legislation concerning "Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning" and "Korea Communications Commission" which came on the back of governmental reorganization in recent years is discussed in the theoretical and practical aspect. Development of "data communication technology" innovatively changed the method of livelihood of mankind, the emergence of network under global dimension provided financial social benefit and posed a challenge and a threat at the same time. Form digital revolution human kind can expect to receive many important blessings. Nevertheless, there are many advantages of development of technology by digital revolution, cyberspace like online media, internet etc. has realistically many problems that must be solved. To maximum positive aspects like the expansion of freedom of expression and creating plan of economy by the advance of transmission technology is needed. And to minimize side effects of informatization is required more. The First, Special Act on ICT has an adaptation in normative standardization to be fit in media convergence beyond convergence of broadcasting and telecommunications. Henceforth, there must be established a legal basis for the achievement of protection of economic evolution and freedom of speech in digital media, information, communication technology and content development. The second, the government action is to accomplish economic development and freedom of information in structural aspect of norm. Therefore minimizing normative problem by reorganization of organization remains clearly unresolved in politics. The third, Special Act on ICT must be basic law covering info-communications field, pay telecommunication and media contents field. The forth, from a technical point of view, net neutrality, conflict of interest for digital content and so on can be fixed easily. Special Act on ICT must not only pursuit of development of industry. Special Act on ICT and pursuit of enhancing quality of life of people and preparing program to promote democratization. From now on, we need to make powerful nation of information& communications technology and in information human rights protection field got to be one step ahead of others with reference to appear all the various aspects must be brought together in the discussion of legislation process of Special Act on ICT.

Watermarking for Digital Hologram by a Deep Neural Network and its Training Considering the Hologram Data Characteristics (딥 뉴럴 네트워크에 의한 디지털 홀로그램의 워터마킹 및 홀로그램 데이터 특성을 고려한 학습)

  • A digital hologram (DH) is an ultra-high value-added video content that includes 3D information in 2D data. Therefore, its intellectual property rights must be protected for its distribution. For this, this paper proposes a watermarking method of DH using a deep neural network. This method is a watermark (WM) invisibility, attack robustness, and blind watermarking method that does not use host information in WM extraction. The proposed network consists of four sub-networks: pre-processing for each of the host and WM, WM embedding watermark, and WM extracting watermark. This network expand the WM data to the host instead of shrinking host data to WM and concatenate it to the host to insert the WM by considering the characteristics of a DH having a strong high frequency component. In addition, in the training of this network, the difference in performance according to the data distribution property of DH is identified, and a method of selecting a training data set with the best performance in all types of DH is presented. The proposed method is tested for various types and strengths of attacks to show its performance. It also shows that this method has high practicality as it operates independently of the resolution of the host DH and WM data.

  • This paper addresses the stereoscopic 3D broadcasting technology that delivers the 3DTV contents through the digital cable networks. In order to convey the 3D contents via DCA TV network, specifications of 3D video format, compression, multiplexing, signalling and transport are to be developed. Since 3D has some constraints unlike 2D, it is required to be well designed by considering the capacity of the additional view and the backward/forward compatibility. This paper goes with the latest trends of 3D standard, requirements and service scenarios and then covers the 3D format, compression, multiplexing and signaling, service information and transport/reception technologies.

  • There have been more demands for the culture and leisure activity services in the industry friendly to older adults. Of these culture and leisure activities, the activity of their watching TV programs and online media content has been on the increase. High-resolution display devices have become popular and are cheaper than before, and hardware for realizing multi-dimensional images can be easily configured. However, it is not easy to view high-resolution multi-dimensional images that reflect the physical and mental characteristics of the elderly. It is expected that the results of this study contributes to developing a variety of content for older adults' culture and leisure activities with the use of reality image technology and promoting the industry friendly to older adults by developing.

  • This paper deals with a longitudinal time series study on the viewing behavior of digital media service. After holdback of terrestrial broadcasting VOD service was extended in 2013, viewers' terrestrial broadcasting VOD viewing went down sharply. Researcher assumed that there was driven by watching alternative products such as movies, kids, etc. as the cause of the decline of the terrestrial broadcasting VOD viewing. In addition, researcher assumed that the decline of terrestrial broadcasting VOD viewing had an influence on the viewing rate of the terrestrial real-time broadcasting, and confirmed the cause of the decreasing of the terrestrial real-time broadcasting viewing rate. In order for terrestrial broadcasters to retrieve real-time broadcasting and VOD viewing, it is necessary to shorten the VOD holdback and reacquire viewers away from terrestrial broadcasting.
