Study of the Usability Factors of Remote Controllers for Multifunction A/V Appliances (다기능 A/V제품 리모컨의 사용성 결정 인자에 관한 연구)

  • In order to develop a more useful and ergonomically attractive remote controller, I peformed experiments with various subjects to define factors that may obstruct the usability of remote controllers for multifunction A/V appliances. I also performed the experiments to evaluate other factors that were created to improve the usability of them, and showed that remote controllers with the improved factors are more efficient and more attractive to use. I analyzed about 40 types of remote controllers for various A/V appliances to understand impediment factors of usability. By this analysis I found the factors that affected the usability of them, and developed three types of improved remote controllers for the next version of $Play@TV^{TM}$ also set the subjects with the task of usability tests with an existing remote controller and the three newly chosen remote controllers, and those results were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the 'B type' remote controller took less time to perform the same tasks by 9.2% than the existing remote controller. I concluded that the usability factors of remote controllers - function receptivity, presentation of a tactile clue, reasonable size and weight, how to arrange the main buttons, grouping of related functions - will be useful and effective to improve the usability of A/V appliances.

  • Whereas traditional user interface are well accepted modes of information exchange, the new digital conversion type's of information media is relatively complex and provides new means of transaction with user interface. User interface can be decomposed into two component: the physical structure through which information media is controlled, and the presentation of the content. This research explores the two user interface element have different effect on the adoption of information media and, as such, can influence perceived usefulness, perceived easy of use, and intention of use. The hypotheses have been tested with the survey of 148 end-users examines two interface characteristics factors such as efficiency, error, design, entertainment, accuracy, and vividness, and so on. The research summarized in this paper decomposes the influence of interface elements of physical structure interface and content presentation interface to gain a better understanding of how interface stimulates user's perceived usefulness to adopt the information media.

  • 21st century has become an era can design human's image. By designing the each human's images it is possible to express the hidden abilities of their mind. Modern society changes rapidly where the elements such as consideration, sympathy, understandings, and female leadership of communication emerge as a spur rather than speediness or complexity.In a lot of global conglomerates, it is very common for women to be selected as CEO, and even more, the rate of woman who are the member of Congress is almost 40%. The fashion of female leader has come to the fore with an improvement of female leadership, and the fashion colour which is suitable to P.O has been developed as a significant image strategy. I am going to conduct the research and analyse the fashion of a female political leader through the colour image which is equivalent to a visual image and sensitive language. I will analyze the human image which female leaders present through fashion colors.

Consumer Resistance to Smartwatches: Gender and Age Differences (스마트 워치 소비자 저항에 영향을 미치는 요인: 수용 보류 집단의 성별, 연령별 집단 차이 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting consumer resistance of smart watches, focusing on consumer groups. SPSS 19.0 was used to conduct a descriptive analysis and multi regression analysis of the data. This study is based on the questionnaire data of 407 consumers. The results of this study are as follows. First, the relative advantage was identified as a factor in reducing consumer resistance across all gender and age groups. Second, complexity has been identified as a factor that increases the consumer resistance of female consumers, and consumer groups in their 20s and 40s. Third, esthetics was found to reduce consumer resistance in men, women, and the consumer group in their 20s. Fourth, subjective norms were identified as a factor reducing consumer resistance in women and in consumer groups in their 20s and 30s. Fifth, the risk of privacy was identified as a factor in increasing consumer resistance in men and the consumer group in their 40s. The results of this study can be helpful to understand consumer resistance to smartwatches.

Fashion Typography from a Conceptual Art Perspective (개념미술 관점의 패션 타이포그래피)

  • This study aims to analyze typographic expressions used in recent fashion trends from the perspective of conceptual art and thus identify a variety of meanings. Towards this end, theoretical considerations were made vis-à-vis the main concepts of research, such as typography and conceptual art, and the ready-made, documentation, intervention and language, which are the expressive features of conceptual art, were applied to fashion typography as analytical frameworks. The results are as follows. The ready-made appears in a way that borrows or transforms the visual identity of other brands, and documentation is utilized in a way that lays tautological or contradictory texts together. Intervention arises, while leading to more complex layers of meaning when borrowing the visual identity of the brand, which is conceptually irrelevant. The language is expressed as statements about contemporary social issues, such as environmental protection, ethical consumption and gender problems. Based on the findings of this study, it can be confirmed that in fashion design, typography serves as an effective marketing tool and a medium of social statements. Moreover, it can expand into the possibility of generating new meanings as a novel way of visual expression.

수학 수업에 그래픽 계산기 활용하기

  • 교수 ${\cdot}$ 학습 과정에서 계산 능력 배양이 목표인 영역을 제외하고는, 복잡한 계산, 수학적 개념 ${\cdot}$ 원리 ${\cdot}$ 법칙의 이해, 문제 해결력 향상 등을 위하여 가능하면 계산기나 컴퓨터를 적극 활용하도록 한다. 제 7차 교육과정에서는 수학적 힘의 신장을 구현하기 위한 실천적인 항목 중 다음과 같이 교수 ${\cdot}$ 학습과정에서의 technology의 활용을 적극 권장하고 있다. 이는 곧 수학교육과 실생활이 서로 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있음을 의미하는 것이다. 이런 새로운 움직임에 따라 계산기 활용에 대한 관심과 이를 수업에 이용하려는 방안을 적극 모색하고 있으며 이미 많은 자료들이 간행되고 있다. 그래픽 계산기는 컴퓨터와는 달리 많은 자료를 내장하고 있지는 않지만 휴대가 간편하고 개별적으로 사용할 수 있어 학교 수업시간 중 활용하는 데에 큰 장점을 가지고 있다. 또, 수학의 교수 ${\cdot}$ 학습 과정에서 그래픽계산기는 학생들의 흥미를 자극하고, 시각적인 힘을 활용하고, 수학적 사고력을 향상시키며, 문제를 탐구하는 과정에서의 단순한 계산을 효과적으로 처리할 수 있도록 도와준다. 뿐만 아니라 수학의 내적 영역과 수학의 외적 영역을 연결시키는 힘과 학습 과정에서 학생의 주도력을 강화시켜줄 수 있다. 그러나 계산기의 사용 자체가 목표가 될 수는 없으며 그래픽 계산기의 사용으로 학생들의 계산능력을 하락시켜서도 안된다. 이를 위해서는 적절한 교수 ${\cdot}$ 학습법의 개발과 연구가 끊임없이 지속되어야 할 것이다. 그래픽계산기는 함수, 통계 단원에서 자료를 분석하고 그에 적합한 식을 찾는 과정에 매우 유용하게 이용된다. 이는 재량활동이나 특기적성활동 시간에 조작활동을 통하여 개념에 대한 다양한 창의적인 표현을 할 수 있는 기회를 제공하기도 한다. 다음은 함수식을 이용하여 여러 가지 디자인을 할 수 있는 예를 그래픽 계산기를 통하여 보여준다. 생활 속의 여러 가지 모양들은 대체로 함수식으로 표현될 수 있다. 그래픽 계산기는 함수식을 입력하여 그래프의 형태를 관찰하고 그 특징을 살펴보는데 매우 유용하며 제한된 변역에서 여러개의 함수식을 입력하여 원하는 모양의 디자인을 해 볼 수 있다.

  • 와관과 실체의 갈등은 문학작품의 주제 중에서 가장 보편적이면서도 복잡한 양상을 지니고 있다 희곡 Macbeth에 있어서 이주제는 Shakespeare의 어느 작품에서보다도 핵심적인 역할을 하며 특히 외관과 실체의 주제를 시각적으로 보여주는 복식이미저리는 그의 주제를 상징적으로 나타내는 데 효과적일 뿐만 아니라 극적 분위기 창조 및 무대사에서배우들의 의상변화로 인한 시각적이미저리 효과를 극대화 시키고 있다 본 연구의 목적은 Macbeth에 내재된 복식 이미저리를 고찰하고 이를 가장 최근에 공연된 macbeth의 무대의상에 적용 분석함으로써 무대의상 제작시 복식 이미저리의 효과적인 무대적용 여부를 파악하는 것이다.연구의 방법은 먼저 이론적인 배경으로 희곡 Macbeth의 본문을 분석하여 복식이미지저리와 관계된느 대사 및 지문 등을 추출한 다음이를 하나의 케이스 연구대상으로 선정된 1996 RSC극단 공연의 Macbeth 무대의상에 적용하여 분석 고찰 하였다 본 연구에서 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다 첫째 자신의 실체를 파악하지 못한 인물이나 혼동하는 인물은 자신의 신분에 맞지 않은 남의 의상을 적응기간조차 없이 착용함으로써 결국은 자신을 파멸로 몰고가는 복식 이미저리가 제시되어 있었다 둘째 자신의 실체를 분명히 지각하고 있는 인물들은 새로운 복식이나 신분에의 적응은 많은 시간과 노력을 요한다는 것을 매우 잘 파악하고 있었으며 이것은 그들의 대사 중에 구체적으로 제시되어있었다 1막1장의 Banquo 의 대사 중에 나오는'새로운복식'과 '새로운 신분'에 비유 2막 4장의 macduff의 대사중에 나오는 '새로브'와 '헌로브'의 비유 5막 2장의 Caithness의 '자제력의혁대'등의 비유는 복식이미저리의 구체적인 표현으로 분석되었다. 셋째 복식 이미저리의 측면에 1996 RSC의 Macbeth 무대의상을 분한 결과 이의상들에는 '난쟁이가 훔쳐 입은 거인의 옷' 으로 대표되는 복식 이미저리가 직접적으로 제시되지는 않았지만 공연전체를 통하여 무대장치 및 의상에 변화를 주지 않음으로써 이 작품의 초시한성과 복식이미저리를 오히려 역설적으로 표현하고 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 따라서 이공연의 의상 계획은 복식 이미저리의 역설적인 한 표현으로 분석되었으며 관객에게 등장인물의 외곤은 그 실체를 그대로 반영한다는 Shakespeare 본래의 의도를 잘 보여주는 의상계획으로 파악되었다 이러한 결과는 Shakespeare극의 무대의상 디자인 및 제작시 무대의상이 단순한 무대의상 그 이상의 의미로 고려되어져야 함을 보여주며 이는 관객에세 의미 깊은 메시지로 전달될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

A Development of CNC Engraving Machine System for Non-experts (비숙련자를 위한 CNC 조각기 시스템의 개발 방안 연구)

  • As the culture of making things based on "do-it-yourself" (DIY) activity is increasingly promoted, the use of recent digital technologies and tools, including the 3D printer, have become widespread. However, the use of computerized numerical control (CNC) engraving machine is considered difficult because of the complicated procedures and specialized knowledge required for its operation. Therefore, this study aims to resolve the issue that limits the usability of the CNC engraving machine. This paper presents a novel CNC engraving machine system for non-experts based on human-centered design. First, the size and type of the workpiece and tool are reduced. Second, computer-aided process planning (CAPP) steps such as tool path generation, workpiece clamping, and corresponding coordinate system are automated by compromising productivity and efficiency. As a result, a CNC engraving machine system that can be easily used by non-experts was developed. This development has great significance in that it opens up the possibility of using the CNC engraving machine for a wider range of DIY activities.

A Study on the Structuralization of Consumer Needs by Analysing Emotional Factors (감성 요소 분석을 통한 소비자 니즈의 구조화에 관한 연구)

  • As the Production technology Progresses, the necessity to consider consumers needs being complex and diverse in the phase of developing product is being more important. However, existing system of consumers needs being structured with the view of marketing is too abstractive and categorical to apply in the phase of developing product. So, the goal of this study is to establish method that structuralize customer's needs for applying practically in the phase of the product concept development and to suggest guidelines to needs structuralization with emphasis on the view of cognitive science/cognitive psychology. The major findings of this study is summerized as follows. First, to structuralize not only customer's needs category which being used as standard to assort needs in existing way but also practical needs features, it must contain the concept of emotion that is actual product's meaning to customers in its structure, and for this reason, the structuralized needs with emotions can be defined as emotional needs structure. Second, categorization of concept will be divided as essential concept and referential concept centering around symbolic concept, and from this supposition, emotional needs structure can be composed as benefit concept(essential concept), customer needs(referential concept) centering around emotion(symbolic concept).

  • The Internet is becoming increasingly diverse and complex, the needs of user's convenience is also various and increased. The task forces have been working on how to design the future Internet in satisfaction of user's require and mobility management is one of the key issues to be considered. mobility management in the future Internet is still being designed in an "all-in-one" way where all management functions are tightly kept at a single location and this results in cost inefficiency that can be an obstruction to constructing flexible systems. In this paper, we propose a cost-effective function-distributed mobility management scheme that can enable more flexible future Internet construction. Furthermore, we show the effectiveness of our proposed system via a cost analysis and computer simulation with a random walk mobility model.
