A case study on the application of service design in a tertiary care hospital - Focusing on patient and Medical staff experience data at a Regional emergency medical center - (상급종합병원 서비스디자인 적용 단일 사례연구 -권역응급의료센터의 환자와 의료진 경험 데이터를 중심으로-)

  • This study is a single case study of the application of service design in a regional emergency medical centre of a senior general hospital, focusing on the experiences of patients and medical staff. It aims to measure and improve the experience of healthcare services using service design techniques and to verify their effectiveness. A qualitative case study centred on ethnography and design workshops was conducted to collect in-depth experience data from patients and medical staff. The study identified key experiential differences between patients and healthcare workers, with a particular focus on the challenges faced in emergency medical services. The qualitative data collected through patient and healthcare worker interviews and design thinking workshops were analysed and incorporated into the design in order to understand the complex dynamics of the regional emergency medical centre environment. The results of the study highlighted the need to improve communication, manage patient flow, and improve the environment in three main aspects of the current state of design reflecting the needs of patients and medical staff. By analysing the differences in the specific needs of the two groups of patients and medical staff, a design-led implementation process can be applied to improve the services of the regional emergency medical centre. This study highlights the role and importance of design in healthcare and provides an efficient way to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical design implementation. This will contribute to creating a faster, more effective, and more satisfying healthcare experience. It is hoped that this will be a new opportunity to see service design as a key to a new innovation process for the satisfaction of both patients and medical staff.

  • A design collaboration system for a plant project is a set of complicated multidisciplinary processes in which a large number of various engineering fields are involved. Each subsystem is related to each other as they depend on information that other subsystems create, which leads to inefficient design iterations. This study presents an optimal design collaboration system for a plant project using Design Structure Matrix (DSM). Data regarding design subsystems, parameters, etc. were obtained by expert surveys and workshops. An automatic analysis program for DSM was developed using Visual Basic Application and Matlab to provide a partitioned DSM. A case study was conducted on a furnace project; consequently, the optimal design collaboration system with five crucial iteration groups was derived.

  • The navigation in 3D virtual space is a procedure which must be carefully established in advance with understanding of a complicate perception process. Although current various desktop softwares are suppling developers with easier production circumstances in accordance with popularization era of interactive 3D media it is true that previous systematic conceptual study has been performed exclusively at specific institutions. Therefore, based upon the examples of virtual reality research reported by universities and companies core concepts giving the background for navigation realization and direct/indirect factors supporting substantial realization were analyzed and discussed in this paper.

  • Until now, the level design for games has played a very important role in the process of developing games since it has been mapped out and applied so the game players have fun to certain level in playing games. So as game becomes more complex the number of game designers also grow and to make diverse levels, work force and working hours also should grow larger. In this treatise, it suggest a way where level's structure is changing dynamically so with only one level you can experience diverse levels by introducing wandering agent to the level structure. Also, I am trying to show the possibility of balance between the players by wandering agent.

  • In this paper, hair beauty fashion design feature points detection system is proposed. A hair models and hair face is represented as a graph where the nodes are placed at facial feature points labeled by their Gabor features and the edges are describes their spatial relations. An innovative flexible feature matching is proposed to perform features correspondence between hair models and the input image. This matching hair model works like random diffusion process in the image space by employing the locally competitive and globally corporative mechanism. The system works nicely on the face images under complicated background. pose variations and distorted by accessories. We demonstrate the benefits of our approach by its implementation on the face identification system.

  • 비트루비우스(Vitruvius)에서 벤츄리(Venturi)에 이르기까지 많은 건축사가(建榮史家) 또는 건축가(建築家)들이 건축원리에 대한 각자의 규범적 태도를 글로써 밝혀왔다. 이러한 규범적 내용 중 비례이론은 서양건축에 있어 건축미(建築美) 비밀로 간주되어, 조화로운 건축물이 꼭 갖추어야 할 덕목중의 하나로 인식되었다. 현대건축에서 비교적 근대 비례시스템이라 불릴 수 있는 것으로 르 꼬르뷔지에의 모될로르와 반 데어 란의 플라스틱 넘버를 들 수 있다. 모될로르는 현재까지 아주 제한된 성공밖에 거두지 못했는데, 이는 피보나치 수열에 기초한 수치들이 커졌을 때 단위의 배수관계가 거의 형성되지 않는다는 사실에 기인한다. 반면에 플라스틱 넘버는 모될로르의 결점들을 보완할 수 있는 매력적인 수열을 가지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 반 데어 란의 비례시스템 분석을 통하여 유도된 수열규칙이 건축디자인과 관련되어 직접적으로 적용되어 질 수 있는 CAAD시스템을 제안한다. 본 시스템의 초점은 반 데어 란의 비례이론이 어떻게 컴퓨터 언어로 변환 및 CAAD시스템에 적용되어, 실질적인 건축 실무행위에 있어 컴퓨터가 디자인 도우미로서 역할을 수행할 수 있겠는가하는 것이다. 연구의 결과, 사용자는 이러한 시스템을 사용함으로써 반 데어 란의 비례시스템을 자신의 디자인에 손쉽게 적용할 수 있으며, 이는 복잡한 치수관계로 구성된 비례시스템의 건축실무 활용으로 발전되어질 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • This study performed a focus group interview(14 people) on food-service staffs, dieticians, and housewives to develop a small multi-function oven for rice flour. The interviewees have experienced rice flour cooking and oven at home or food-service business. The interviewees have not used commercial ovens on a daily basis for several reasons, such as the absence of understanding rice flour, lack of various recipes with rice flour and inconvenience of the oven. This study suggests of design, user experience, functional characteristics, color and so on relating to a small multi-function oven to the customers.

Towards Characterization of Modern FPGAs: A Case Study with Adders and MIPS CPU (가산기와 MIPS CPU 사례를 이용한 현대 FPGA의 특성연구)

  • The FPGA-based emulation is an essential step in ASIC design for validation. For emulation with maximal frequency, it is crucial to understand the FPGA characteristics. This paper attempts to analyze the performance characteristics of the modern FPGAs from renowned vendors, Xilinx and Altera, with a case study utilizing various adders and MIPS CPU. Unlike the common wisdom, ripple-carry adder (RCA) does not utilize the inherent carry-chain inside FPGAs when structurally designed based on 1-bit adders. Thus, the RCA shows the inferior performance to the other types of adders in FPGAs. Our study also reveals that FPGAs from Xilinx exhibit different characteristics from the ones from Altera. That is, the prefix adder, which is optimized for speed in ASIC design, shows the poor performance on Xilinx devices, whereas it provides a comparable speed to the IP core on Altera devices. It suggests that error-prone manual change of the original design can be avoided on Altera devices if area is permitted. Experiments with MIPS CPU confirm the arguments.

  • Human desires start from the factors that make up the basic living environment. The development model of the safety guidelines will start from a sense of departure from collective psychology and systemic environment, at the time of inducing threats to threats. The design and methodology of the safety guidelines should be drawn up repeatedly by the sequence of iterative models, and the design methodology should be designed in the chronological order of the public services through the methodology of service design methodology. Various and complex threats attempt to derive insights from the user's perspective and to derive insight into the development of the safety guidelines and the sophistication of the user experience, and to extract insights from the perspective of a user's perspective and supervision model. This derived insight can be implemented as a multi-dimensional service model derived from the same problem consciousness methodology.
