According to the recent investigation, the 4th grade students' eyesight weakness was occurred on a large scale in primary school. To improve the classroom illumination environment which affects students' eyesight weakness of the 4th grade student, an analysis of illumination environment and an eyesight acuity for the whole 4th year students was held. In four out of the whole classrooms, each improvement work in illumination has done using different types of luminaires. Re-test of eyesight was held for students who studied under the improved illumination environment for 10 months and students under the environment not improved. Comparative analysis of the results which was obtained from re-test and measurements was carried out. Consequently, influence on the eyesight variation by classroom illumination was analysed and the improvement of classroom illumination was researched.

It has been subject to question whether a conventional traffic signal controller can support efficient operation at grade intersections in which vehicles and tram lines cross concurrently. This study proposes a list of functional requirements for a traffic signal controller to support effective operation of trams at such an intersection. The considered details includes the combinations of geometric conditions at which vehicle, bus, and tram lines are aligned, the types of exclusive tram signals, and the combinations of various signal phases, including exclusive tram phases, which are currently undefined in the nation. The results suggest that the controller should be capable of dealing with the NEMA standard overlap relays and a quadruple-ring phase representation scheme.

Lighting improvements are needed for adequate operation of security installations according to the turn of scientific policing instead of human policing. The basic principles of security lighting is to provide sufficient lighting over a specific area so that anyone moving in or around can be seen easily. Also, in security lighting, illuminance and uniformity are to be considered for clearing of CCTV screen through the lighting improvement. To achieve such goals, each pole is to be considered of the height and the space of luminaries as well as the wattage and the type of lamps. In this paper, the lighting designs show the adequate operations of fence security systems through the actual measurement of illuminance by mock-up and the illuminance analyses for obtaining proper illuminance and uniformity value to keep brightness of CCTV screen able to confirm objects considering characteristics of CCTV monitor by simulations.
