모터전류를 기초로 한 드릴 마멸 모델링과 실시간 마멸 추정 (Drill Wear Modelling based on Motor Current and Application to Real-time Wear Estimation)

  • In-process detection of drill wear is one of the most important technoligies for automatic, unmaned machining systems. In this study, an on-line drill wear estimation model based on spindle/Z-axis motor currents generated during the drilling process is proposed. The theoretical model is obtained by integrating the drilling process model and the servomechanism model. The drilling process model describes the relationship of drill wear and drilling torque/ thrust force, whereas the servomechanism model describes the relationship of drilling torque/ thrust force applied to motor and spindle/Z-axis motor current. Evaluation tests have shown that the proposed model is a good real-time estimator for drill wear.

  • 초정밀 초고속 레이저 가공공정 및 장비는 유연소재의 태양전지, 인쇄전자소자(printed electronics devices)의 초고속 절단공정, 고기능 다기능 모바일 기기용 고부가 PCB의 초정밀 초고속 레이저 드릴링 및 복합 유연 가공 등에 적용된다. 최근 레이저 가공기 연구개발 패러다임은 레이저 의존형 장비 개발에서 레이저 맞춤형 장비 개발로 변화되고 있다. 즉, 수입된 레이저 발진기 및 광학기기를 사용하여 레이저 공정 및 장비를 개발하는 방식에서 벗어나, 개발하고자 하는 공정 및 장비에 최적화된 레이저 발진기 개발을 병행하는 것이다. 이러한 상황에서 최근 지식경제부 산업원천기술개발사업으로 신개념 레이저 기반 초정밀 초고속 가공시스템 개발이 착수되었으며, 본 고에서는 이에 대한 전반적인 내용들 소개하고자 한다.

전처리 집합체해체 핵심장치 디지털 목업 검증

  • 전처리 공정장치 구축에 앞서 정확한 설계와 검증이 선행되어야 한다. 우선 디지털 목업 기술을 통해 설계검증을 철저히 함으로써 공정의 품질을 높이고 공정하자를 최소화 할 수 있다. 전처리 공정 중 집합체해체 핵심장치의 유지보수를 쉽게 하고, 원격 제어 효율을 높이기 위한 모듈화와 그에 대한 사전 검증을 수행하였다. 이를 위해해 전처리 디지털 목업 시스템 검증 대상과 집합체 해체핵심장치 주요모듈을 선정하였으며, 주요 모듈의 모듈화 방안 과 모듈 탈착 시간 검증하였다. 그 결과, 집합체해체 핵심장치에서는 5개의 주요 모듈로 구성되었으며, 모듈 탈착 시간 검증에서 작업시간은 클램프모듈이 약 130초, 언볼팅, 드릴링 모듈이 140초 소요될 것으로 분석되었다. 향후 전처리장치별 모듈 분석과 LAYOUT 운영을 포함해서 MSM 시뮬레이터의 디바이스 및 시뮬레이터 시스템 구축을 수행할 것이다.

피코초 레이저 드릴링 공정 및 플랫폼 (Picoseconds Laser Drilling and Platform)

  • Laser drilling is an enabling technology for Through Silicon Via (TSV) interconnect applications. Recent advances in picoseconds laser drilling of blind, micron sized vias in silicon is presented here highlighting some of the attractive features of this approach such as excellent sidewall quality. In this study, we dealt with comparison of heat affection around drilled hole between a picosecond laser and a nanosecond laser process under the UV wavelength. Points which special attention should be paid are that picosecond laser process lowered experimentally recast layer, surface debris and micro-crack around hole in comparison with nanosecond laser process. These finding suggests that laser TSV process has possibility to drill under $10{\mu}m$ via. Finally, the laser drilling platform was constructed successfully.

  • Recently, the manufacturing market for low-cost airlines has led to an increase in aircraft demand. Most processes in the production of these aircrafts are manual such as drilling, sealing, and swaging. A drilling and riveting machine is a numerical-control based equipment that automatically performs drilling, sealing, and swaging operations. The accuracy of the drilled holes and the exit burr length has a significant impact on the quality of the aircraft wing during assembly. This study was conducted to identify the conditions necessary to maintain a uniform quality by controlling the rotation speed of the spindle, which directly affects the hole diameter and the quality of the exit burr.

  • Grinding Center(GC)는 머시닝센터가 갖는 드릴링, 태핑 등의 절삭가공의 수행은 물론 주축의 고속화, 이송계의 고정밀화를 토대로 연삭숫돌의 절삭성 회복과 다듬질면의 거칠기를 확보하기 위한 기계로서 Dressing/Truing장치, 기상계측 장치, CNC기능을 구비하여 테이블과 공구간에 3차원의 상대운동을 시킴으로써 평면연삭, 내면연삭, 홈연삭, 캠연삭 등의 복잡한 형상의 연삭가공에 대해서도 공정을 집약화 할 수 있는 기계이다.(중략)

드릴 공정시 절삭 토크 제어 제 2 편 : 주축 모터 전류를 이용한 드릴링 토크의 제어와 드릴 플랭크 마모에 대한 영향 (Cutting Torque Control in Drilling Part 2 : Drilling Torque Control Using Spindle Motor Current and Its Effect on Drill Flank Wear)

  • Drilling torque was measured indirectly using the spindle motor current and controlled in real time through feedrate manipulation in a machining center. The PID controller designed in the previous paper was applied to drilling torque control. A series of cutting experiments were performed for various cutting conditions. Experimental results showed that the drilling torque was well regulated at a given reference level by feedrate manipulation in all cutting conditions. The increase in the cutting torque and temperature according to the increase in machining depth was suppressed and the risk of the drill failure and the drill flank wear were reduced remarkably through cutting torque control. Moreover, the suggested cutting torque control system doesn\`t disturb the cutting process and is practical for industrial environment. Therefore, the proposed culling torque control system will contribute to productivity improvement in drilling process.

드릴, 보링 공정복합형 스텝 커터의 개발 (A Study on the Development of a Step Cutter with Hybrid Process of Drilling and Boring)

  • As demands for being economical, precise drilling process is on the increase. Therefore, the objective of this study is to develop a step cutter that can be controllable through micro dimension and can be changed from separate manufacturing processes of drilling and boring into an integrated one. In order to attain this object the step cutter is designed with a 3D geometric modeling and the design could be modified easily by using parametric modeling methodology. Also, collision is not occurred during manufacturing process because of cutting simulation. The step cutter is assembled by parts made up of 5-axis machining and sintering. Validation tests are accomplished. They show that developed cutter has characteristics such as reduction of machining time as well as the good surface roughness of the machined hole. Indeed, reliability could be obtained from a durability test.

  • watches, air bearings and printed circuit hoards (PCB). However, it is not easy to determine optimum cutting conditions since the micro drilling process is very sensitive to various disturbances. Also, undesirable characteristics to optimize the micro drilling are small signal-to-noise ratios, drill wandering motions and high aspect ratios. Thus, in this study, experimental design methods are applied to determine optimum cutting conditions. Suing the methods, three cutting parameters, fred, step and curving speed are optimized to minimize thrust forces. Obtained conditions are verified through required experimental works. As the results, it is shown that the experimental methods can be applied to micro drilling processes to determine Optimum Cutting Conditions.

신경회로망을 이용한 드릴공정에서의 칩 배출 상태 감시 (Chip Disposal State Monitoring in Drilling Using Neural Network)

  • In this study, a monitoring method to detect chip disposal state in drilling system based on neural network was proposed and its performance was evaluated. If chip flow is bad during drilling, not only the static component but also the fluctuation of dynamic component of drilling. Drilling torque is indirectly measured by sensing spindle motor power through a AC spindle motor drive system. Spindle motor power being measured drilling, four quantities such as variance/mean, mean absolute deviation, gradient, event count were calculated as feature vectors and then presented to the neural network to make a decision on chip disposal state. The selected features are sensitive to the change of chip disposal state but comparatively insensitive to the change of drilling condition. The 3 layerd neural network with error back propagation algorithm has been used. Experimental results show that the proposed monitoring system can successfully recognize the chip disposal state over a wide range of drilling condition even though it is trained under a certain drilling condition.
