Virtual pencil and airbrush rendering algorithm using particle patch (입자 패치 기반 가상 연필 및 에어브러시 가시화 알고리즘)

  • Recently, the improvement of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies leverages many new technologies like the virtual study room, virtual architecture room. Such virtual worlds require free handed drawing technology such as writing descriptions of formula or drawing blue print of buildings. In nature, lots of view point modifications occur when we walk around inside the virtual world. Especially, we often look some objects from near to far distance in the virtual world. Traditional drawing methods like using fixed size image for drawing unit is not produce acceptable result because they generate blurred and jaggy result as view distance varying. We propose a novel method which robust to the environment that produce lots of magnifications and minimizations like the virtual reality world. We implemented our algorithm both two dimensional and three dimensional devices. Our algorithm does not produce any artifacts, jaggy or blurred result regardless of scaling factor.

  • In this paper, I explain the design and implementation of an automated drawing system by communicating with a user. I made a system providing an UI for virtual environmental actual robot to interwork with environment to make a drawing that I was able to read work, and to help convenience of a user in computers. The UI of a system was used the AWT(Abstract Window Toolkit) in NetBean tools. To draw images, I got image information from SVG vector files. This system can make images according to the demand of users by using real-time communication. Also this kind of drawing process can be an artists performance, not only the final image as a result of the work. So I suggest that this real-time drawing process which is operated by user’s command can be considered as an artists performance.

The Effect of Tool Surface Treatment and Temperature on Deep Drawability of AZ31 Magnesium Alloy Sheet (툴 표면처리 및 온도가 AZ31 마그네슘 판재의 드로잉성에 미치는 영향)

  • The square cup drawing of magnesium alloy AZ31 $(aluminum\;3\%,\;Zinc\;1\%)$ sheets was studied by experimental approach in various temperatures (200, 250, 300, 350, $400^{\circ}C$) when blank holding force (BHF) was controlled in real-time. And so on, the drawability was measured with the different die and punch coating. The square cup drawing test was performed by three different coated punches (CrN, TiCN, Non-coated). BHF was set about 2.0 KN, forming speed was 50 mm/min, blank thickness were 0.5, 1.0mm and the cup size was 40 mm by 60 mm after forming. The experimental data of square cup drawing test show that the tools coating and temperature were effect on the drawbility.

  • This paper describes the plagiarism inspection supporting system of typical cultural contents or properties such as game programs, cultural contents of natural language documents and art works and proposes the cultural contents the plagiarism inspection supporting system For this, firstly, a survey of plagiarism inspection methods and tools for supporting Plagiarism inspection about programs, cultural contents of natural language documents are discussed. Secondly, the technical method for supporting plagiarism inspection of cultural art works by analyzing the drawing characteristics of authors is proposed. Finally, the experimental results show the effectiveness of this paper.

A Simple and Fast Algorithm for Real-time Pencil Strokes (간단하고 빠른 실시간 연필 스트로크 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we present a new algorithm which imitate real pencil strokes. The purpose of research on NPR(Non-Photorealistic Rendering) is simulating automatically manmade artistic expressions such as pen-and-ink illustrations, watercolor paintings, pencil sketches and pastel drawings with computers. Recently, there has been a great deal of research works on NPR. One of them is researching in pencil illustration methods for NPR, and a lot of researchers have investigated into the LIC(Linear Integral Convolution) techniques which would change the initial images into the output images by directional vector field images for generating effects of pencil. However, the LIC techniques can not be applied to real-time drawing tools because they are post processing techniques. This paper presents a real-time pencil strokes algorithm which is based on an observation of how pencils(from 6B to 6H) draw lines. Although this algorithm using some pencil variables and noise generation is simple, it is fast and also can draw real-time pencil strokes similar to real manmade pencil strokes in a GUI drawing tool.

  • Light Drawing is a photographic technique which exposures are made at night or in a darkened room usually by moving a hand-held light source[1]. Due to the limitations of equipment and environment, users having difficulty in drawing a picture in 3D space. If user take a light drawing, they need a camera that have function and darkened environment. Alternative solution is that we can make a light drawing picture by using the computer drawing tool as in Photoshop. Nevertheless, this solution will let the User lose their interest in drawing because this solution cannot synchronize between the real action of human hand motion and the electronic input devices such as mouse and keyboard. This paper proposed a digital content that can make light drawing easier. We used a digital content that will facility Light Drawing easier. We can measure the light spot position by using the stereo camera. Based on the measured position of the light spot, we reproduce light drawing in virtual space by using drawing effect method.
