  • The some papers which deal with the dynamic instability for shell-like structures under the dynamic excitation have been published, but there are few papers which treat the essential phenomenon of the dynamic buckling using the phase plane for investigating occurrence of chaos. In nonlinear dynamic, examining the characteristics of attractor on the phase plane and investigating the dynamic buckling process are very important thing for understanding why unstable phenomena are sensitively originated by various initial conditions. In this study, the direct and indirect snapping of shallow EP shell considering geometrical nonlinearity are investigated by Galerkin method numerically. This finding out the characteristic of the dynamic instability through the phases curves and running response spectrum.

  • The dynamic instability for snapping phenomena has been studied by many researchers. Few paper deal with the dynamic buckling under the load with periodic characteristics, and the behavior under periodic excitation is expected the different behavior against STEP excitation. We investigate the fundamental mechanisms of the dynamic instability when the sinusoidal shaped arch structures are subjected to sinusoidal harmonic excitation with pin-ends. By using Newmark- β method, we can get the nonlinear displacement response, and using this analyze characteristics of the dynamic instability through the running response spectrum by FFT(Fast Fourier Transform).

  • This study deals with dynamic instability of a tendon moored submerged floating tunnel (SFT) due to tendon slack. In general, environmental loadings such as wave and current govern SFT design. Especially, the wave force, whose amplitude and direction continuously change, directly induces the dynamic behavior of the SFT. The motion of the floating tube, induced by the wave force, leads dynamic response of the attached tendons and the dynamic change of internal forces of the tendons significantly affects to the fatigue design as well as the structural strength design. When the severe motion of the SFT occurs due to significant waves, tendons might lose their tension and slack so that the floating tube can be transiently instable. In this study, the characteristics of dynamic instability of the SFT due to tendon slack are investigated performing hydrodynamic analysis. In addition, the effects of draft, buoyancy-weight ratio, and tendon inclination on tendon slack and dynamic instability behavior are analytically investigated.

  • The dynamic instability for snapping phenomena has been studied by many researchers. Few paper deal with the dynamic bucking under the load with periodic characteristics, and the behavior under periodic excitation is expected the different behavior against STEP excitation. We investigate the fundamental mechanisms of dynamic instability when shallow EP(Elliptic Paraboliodal) shell of two degree of freedom are subjected to sinusoidal excitation with direct snapping and indirect snapping. By using Newmark-$\beta$ method, we can get the nonlinear response, and characteristics of the dynamic instability through the running response spectrum by FFT(fast Fourier Transform) and attractors are compared in the phase plane. Dynamic buckling loads are strongly influenced by the relationships between the natural frequency of structures and the dominant frequency of incident excitations.

Few papers deal with dynamic buckling under loads with periodic characteristics, and the behavior under periodic excitations is expected to be different from behavior under STEP excitations. We investigate the fundamental mechanisms of the dynamic instability when the sinusoidally shaped arch structures are subjected to sinusoidally distributed excitations with pin-ends. The mechanisms of dynamic indirect snapping of shallow arches are especially investigated under not only STEP function excitations but also under sinusoidal harmonic excitations, applied i the up-and-down direction. The dynamic nonlinear responses are obtained by the numerical integration of the geometrically nonlinear equation of motion. And using this analyze characteristics of the dynamic instability through the running response spectrum by FFT(Fast Fourier Transform).

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of training using unstable plate on displacement and dynamic balance ability of ankle joints in women college students wearing high heel shoes. Subjects were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. 3D motion analysis was performed while walking 9cm high-heeled shoes and walking 5m. Dynamic balanced ability evaluation was performed. The intervention program was administered to experimental subjects three times a week for four weeks. They performed balance training using unstable plates. There was no intervention in the control group. The results showed that the displacement of the ankle joints in the experimental group after the intervention was decreased overall and the dynamic balance ability was significantly increased. The control group showed little change. As a result, the training using unstable plate stabilizes the ankle joints and improves the dynamic balance ability of the subjects wearing high-heeled shoes.

  • Purpose : The present study was aimed at investigating the plantar pressure on dynamic balance of subjects with functional ankle instability following fatigue of lower leg. Methods : The subjects(30 university students) were divided into 2 groups ; functional ankle instability group(7males and 7females) and ankle stable group(9males & 7females) who could evaluate questionnaire. All the participants were evaluated muscle fatigue of lower leg by Biodex system III and distribution of plantar pressure by Zebris FDM-S system, The dynamic balance was tested by single-leg jump landing. This study were to measure of plantar pressure on dynamic balance with the difference between FAIG and control group following muscle fatigue. Results : In functional ankle instability group(FAIG), the post-fatigue was significantly higher than pre-fatigue in forefoot(p2,p3,p4) of plantar pressure on dynamic balance(p<0.05). The FAIG was significantly higher than the ASG in forefoot(p2, p3, p4) & lat midfoot(p6) of plantar pressure after fatigue in dynamic balance(p<0.05). The FAIG was significantly longer than the ASG in anteroposterior(AP) & mediolateral(ML) distance on center of pressure(CoP) after fatigue in dynamic balance(p<0.05). Conclusion : This study showed that FAIG were effected plantar pressure and center of pressure(CoP) by dynamic balance following muscle fatigue. Further study is needed to measure various age & work with ankle instability for clinical application.
