Development and Evaluation of Video English Dictionary for Silver Generation (실버세대를 위한 동영상 영어사전의 개발 및 평가)

  • Based on the analysis of physical and learning characteristics and requirements of the silver generation, a video English dictionary was developed and evaluated as English learning contents. The video English dictionary was developed using OCR as an input method and video as an output method, and 17 silver generations were evaluated for academic achievement, learning satisfaction, and ease of use. As a result of the analysis, both the text English dictionary and the video English dictionary showed high learning satisfaction, but the video English dictionary showed higher results than the text English dictionary in an academic achievement and ease of use.

Usage of Beauty Contents in a Multi-Channel Environment: A Niche Analysis of Webzines, Televisions and Online Video Platforms (다매체 환경에서의 뷰티 콘텐츠 이용: 웹진, TV, 인터넷 동영상 플랫폼 간 적소분석)

  • This study aimed to investigate the competing relationships among webzines, TVs and online video platforms in terms of usage gratification of consumption of beauty contents based on niche theory. Five types of usage gratification including information, entertainment, attractive characters, convenient usage and honesty were identified from the previous literature and they were used for niche analysis. The findings showed that online video platforms had the wider breadth than webzines and TVs in all dimensions of usage gratification except for attractive character and TVs and online video platforms had the least niche overlap. The results also revealed that online video platforms had the competitive superiority over the other media in terms of convenient usage and honesty. This study has meanings in a way that it can be used as guidelines for how the future consumption patterns of beauty contents will be.

  • 본 논문에서는 모션 그래픽 진화에 따른 모션 그래픽 트랜드 변화에 대해서 나타내었다. 웹의 트랜트 변화와 함께 웹에서의 모션 그래픽스의 인터렉티브 기법에 관해서 나타내었다. 본 논문에서는 인터렉티브 기법을 적용한 웹 동영상 콘텐츠 기법들을 나타내었다. 웹 인터랙티브 콘텐츠 제작 및 활용으로 플래시 동영상 제작 활용을 나타내었다. 웹에서의 인터렉티브 콘텐츠는 이용목적에 따라 제작 및 활용 기법이 다양하다. 따라서 콘텐츠 이용에 대한 인터렉티브 콘텐츠 제작 및 활용을 고려하여야 한다.

  • Recently, there're lots of interest in UCC, user-created contents, in the Internet market. the sites providing only the UCC service are beginning to appear. I am going to find out their strengths and weaknesses and the future directions. I started this study by discussing the direction of the UCC business. Now we see that the video UCC contents in the portal sites are growing gradually.

  • is a mobile application based SNS video platform that launched its service in China in 2016. At the beginning of the service, TikTok is a music video content platform, and later, it evolved into a social platform that provides a wide variety of contents, and the process of creating, producing, and editing videos was easily provided. Since started its service, it has analyzed various social phenomena that have appeared to young people and the types and characteristics of video content popular in this app. The demand for vertical video content in the form of short clip is on the rise rapidly, which can be expected to improve the quality of video content in accordance with the development of mobile-based imaging technology. Useful for mobile based on the creative video producers through this study data are to be used to.

  • 본 논문은 스마트폰 카메라를 사용하여 파노라마 콘텐츠를 제작하기 위한 동영상 스티칭 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 동영상 스티칭 방법으로 특징점 추출 알고리즘인 SURF와 블렌딩 알고리즘인 멀티밴드 블랜딩 알고리즘을 사용한다. 또한, 동영상 스티칭 결과의 정확도를 향상 시키기 위하여 스마트폰의 센서 데이터를 사용하고, 동영상 스티칭 시 흔들림이 생기는 현상을 해결하기 위하여 선형 호모그래피 행렬 생성 방법을 적용하였다. 추가로 스마트폰을 활용하여 파노라마 콘텐츠 제작 시 요구되어지는 거리와 각도를 찾기 위한 실험을 진행하였다.

  • As the paradigm of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is expanding, VR devices and their contents industry are drawing more and more attention as the digital devices of the next generation. Of the realms of VR contents, $360^{\circ}$ 3D videos are receiving the most attention in the field of media, and they are being utilized by Google as educational contents. As such, this research analyzes actual condition of use and motivation of using corresponding contents through survey of $360^{\circ}$ 3D video users. Results show that the most utilized platform is Youtube, and the genres which the respondents have used or are willing to use turned out to be Games and Movies.

  • This study identified the characteristics of video contents related to waste cycle in Korean social media. The contents of broadcasting companies were the most popular among production entities, and mainly current affairs contents and educational contents were popular. Among the solutions to recycle wastes, 'Improvement of systems and policies' was predominantly covered in the video as solutions to the waste circulation problems. 'Broadcasting companies', 'local governments', 'non-profit private organizations' and 'central administrative agencies' actively used the social media to deliver solutions and engage consumers. However, very few contents were produced by companies that are socially responsible for waste. The results of this study show the importance of communication-oriented, public-friendly content development in the process of video production related to waste cycle. These are expected to be useful guidelines for decision-making supporting the development and improvement of related systems and policies.

  • The recent UCC video sector possesses an explosive potential for growth as it will act as a critical factor in determining the popularity of portal sites. We identified and compared the strengths and weaknesses in the UCC sector of "Naver" and "Daum", which are currently in the development phase, and we investigated alternatives as well as proposing an outlook for both portal companies. We believe a better UCC video service will be the deciding factor in a portal's popularity and therefore researches in the UCC video sector must continue.
