Developement of planetary differential type traction drive (차동유성형 마찰드라이브의 개발)

  • The traction drive has advantages of having high efficiency and transmitting the power without blacklash. However, when high ratio of speed reduction is desired, excessively large size is required. In this study, a new type of traction drive is invented, designed and manufactured so that stable speed reduction mech- anisms are available by adopting a cross roller type drive. It has a simple structure, but produces high speed reduction ratio. Power loss is observed, and also, driving torque and torque transfer efficiency are calculated. Pre-loads are needed in order that the traction drive transfers power without slipping, and the spacer is enlarged due to the pre-loading. After all, the key point of pre-load mechanism is that the spacer's diameter becomes larger as pre-loads are applied.

  • A friction tester to measure friction force generated at the interface between the piston ring and the cylinder liner was developed. Modified piston ring is bar-shaped and 100mm long. Surface of the modified piston ring is machined by the profile grinding machine to be formed as a shape of an arc of a circle. Measured data are treated as mean effective friction force and power loss. From this test it can be confirmed that friction force is deeply affected by surface shape of the piston ring and viscosity of supplied oil. Friction force is deeply affected by surface shape of the piston ring and viscosity of supplied oil. Friction force is decreased and power loss is increased with increasing velocity. And it is known that region of mixed lubrication is broader than estimated with theoretical analysis. it is expected that this tester can be used as the optimization tool of the surface shape of the piston ring at the first stage of development of the piston rings.

  • 흔히 자동차용 belt를 단순한 소모품으로 생각하여 대수롭지 않게 여기는 경향이 있으나 belt slip에 의한 동력의 손실은 매우 큰 것이며 특히 자동차용 belt에 있어서 그 중요성은 상당한 것이다. 왜냐하면 crankshaft에서의 중력이 belt를 통해서 water pump나 air compressor등에 전달되며 이때 동력전달이 제대로 안되는 경우에는 engine은 냉각수와 냉각팬에 의해 냉각이 되지 않아서 금방 고은소착 되기 때문이며, 또한 belt를 너무 조이는 경우에는 water pump bearing의 파손 등을 초래하기 때문에 belt의 정확한 길이 계산이 매우 중요하다. 그러나 이러한 중요성에도 불구하고 belt의 설계계산을 행하는 데는 많은 시간이 걸리며, 간혹 잘못 계산을 하는 경우에는 큰 문제가 발생할 수도 있기 때문에 belt계산의 기본이론식들을 전부 computer program 화하여 시간의 절약과 계산의 오류를 피하고자 한다. Program을 만들기 위해서 사용한 computer는 micro-computer로서 PET (Personal Electric Transactor)2001이며 사용한 언어는 BASIC이다.

  • In order to improve the performance of heat exchanger, fluidized bed is often employed. The experiments are carried out in fluidized double pipe parallel flow heat exchanger in which finned tube is vertically immersed. And the heat transfer coefficients between the heated tube and fluidized bed of alumina beads(dp=0.41, 0.54, 0.65, 0.77mm) are calculated as a function of air fluidized velocity and pumping power. The effects of particle size, static bed height and pumping power on the heat transfer coefficients are investigated. And the heat transfer coefficients are compared with that of single phase forced convection heat exchanger. In particular, the heat transfer performance of each type heat exchanger is evaluated in relation to the pumping power.

  • In the study, it is considered sporty car as 1400cc entry cars using sound generator. These cars are required special sound quality, also sporty sound quality. The operational principle of this sound generator system is that on the operation of the engine intake valves caused pulsating is to shake the membrane of the sound generator on the inside of the driver front dash panel through the intake manifold, which will deliver the required sound quality and tone. For the component constructed sound generator, main design parameters are selected and optimized using the daguchi's method. The results are as follows; The C2 sound level must be minimized and C4 level must be maximized. And also overall level keeps linear characteristics.

  • 기어는 회전 기계 사이의 동력 전달을 위한 장치이며 현재 산업 전반의 통상적인 기어는 기계적 기어가 주류로서 형성되어 있다. 하지만 기계적 기어는 맞물린 톱니바퀴의 물리적 접촉에 의해 접촉 경계면의 마모 및 파손, 소음과 진동의 문제가 있으며 유지보수 비용 또한 크다. 따라서 최근 물리적 접촉이 없어 기계적 기어의 많은 문제를 해결할 수 있는 마그네틱 기어 (Magnetic Gear)에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 마그네틱 기어는 영구자석에서 생성된 자계를 이용하여 비접촉 동력전달이 가능하며, 마찰손실 제거, 유지보수의 용이성, 매우 적은 소음 및 진동 등의 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 마그네틱 기어의 토크전달 방법과 형상변화에 따른 전달토크 특성을 2-D 유한요소해석법을 이용하여 해석하고 분석하고자 한다.

  • This paper represents a study on the conceptual design of new automatic bicycle transmission. The gear change in a commercial bicycle is carried out by moving the chain between sprockets. By the use of a multiple sprocket for speed change the power loss and transmission shock may occur. To solve the problem of bicycle transmission, the improved solution was derived by the technical contradiction matrix of TRIZ. The conceptual solution is one sprocket which replaces the function of multiple sprockets and adapts actively to the pitch of chain. And it was confirmed to be an adequate design through the Independence Axiom of design axiom.

  • A coreless electronic transformer is proposed. Conventional iron cored transformer is heavy and bulky and it has substantial amount of no load loss. On the other hand, electronic transformer can be made of negligible no load loss and is small size and lightweight. It consists of rectifier and PWM inverter. Electronic transformer is easily modeled to conventional Buck converter; therefore, output voltage is controlled by duty ratio. It is thought to be suitable for applications where the operation duty is low. In this paper, a novel coreless transformer is proposed, then it's detailed analysis, simulative and experimental results are presented

  • In the present study, an interactive mode of the computing system has been developed for the hydraulic analysis of the circulating waters in the industrial pipings. The system consists of three separated modules, which are linked together with common graphical user interfaces. Application to the design of the cooling sea-water system for the ships was demonstrated to be very reliable and practical in support of design activities.

  • The purpose of the present study was to develop the numerical method for predicting the on-design and off-design performance of multistage axial-flow compressors. The aerodynamic properties in blade rows were analyzed by incorporating the streamline curvature method as a quasi 3D analysis with the imperical modeling of exit flow angle and loss coefficients. The present calculation procedure has been tested by applying to 5-stage compressors and good agreement with experiments has been found. The detail analysis of aerodynamic performances has been done on the compression part of the bench-scaled gas turbine engines. The predicted performance map at the variable speedline and flow rates could be used as a guide of the engine operation.
