  • To organize training in limited training area for an actuai combat, realistic training simulation plugged in by various battle conditions is essential. In this paper, we propose a virtual target overlay technique which does not use a virtual image, but Projects a virtual target on ground-based CCD image by appointed scenario for a realistic training simulation. In the proposed method, we create a realistic 3D model (for an instructor) by using high resolution Geographic Tag Image File Format(GeoTIFF) satellite image and Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED), and extract the road area from a given CCD image (for both an instructor and a trainee). Satellite images and ground-based sensor images have many differences in observation position, resolution, and scale, thus yielding many difficulties in feature-based matching. Hence, we propose a moving synchronization technique that projects the target on the sensor image according to the marked moving path on 3D satellite image by applying Thin-Plate Spline(TPS) interpolation function, which is an image warping function, on the two given sets of corresponding control point pair. To show the experimental result of the proposed method, we employed two Pentium4 1.8MHz personal computer systems equipped with 512MBs of RAM, and the satellite and sensor images of Daejoen area are also been utilized. The experimental result revealed the effective-ness of proposed algorithm.

  • This paper will cover recent discussions on the risks of human being due to the development of artificial intelligence(AI). We will consider AI research as artificial narrow intelligence(ANI), artificial general intelligence(AGI), and artificial super intelligence(ASI). First, we examine the risks of ANI, or weak AI systems. To maximize efficiency, humans will use autonomous AI extensively. At this time, we can predict the risks that can arise by transferring a great deal of authority to autonomous AI and AI's judging and acting without human intervention. Even a sophisticated system, human-made artificial intelligence systems are incomplete, and virus infections or bugs can cause errors. So I think there should be a limit to what I entrust to artificial intelligence. Typically, we do not believe that lethal autonomous weapons systems should be allowed. Strong AI researchers are optimistic about the emergence of artificial general intelligence(AGI) and artificial superintelligence(ASI). Superintelligence is an AI system that surpasses human ability in all respects, so it may act against human interests or harm human beings. So the problem of controlling superintelligence, i.e. control problem is being seriously considered. In this paper, we have outlined how to control superintelligence based on the proposed control schemes. If superintelligence emerges, it is judged that there is no way for humans to completely control superintelligence at this time. But the emergence of superintelligence may be a fictitious assumption. Even in this case, research on control problems is of practical value in setting the direction of future AI research.

  • Unlike a typical video wall system, video wall systems used for integrated monitoring in smart city environments should be able to display various videos, images, and texts simultaneously. In this paper, we propose an Internet Protocol (IP)-based video wall system that has no limit on the number of videos that can be monitored simultaneously, and that can arrange the monitor screen layout without restrictions. The proposed system is composed of multiple display servers, a wall controller, and video source providers, and they communicate with each other through an IP network. Since the display server receives and decodes the video stream directly from the video source devices, and displays it on the attached monitor screens, more videos can be simultaneously displayed on the entire video wall. When one video is displayed over several screens attached to multiple display servers, only one display server receives the video stream and transmits it to the other display servers by using IP multicast communications, thereby reducing the network load and synchronizing the video frames. Experiments show that as the number of videos increases, a system consisting of more display servers shows better decoding and rendering performance, and there is no performance degradation, even if the display server continues to be expanded.

  • This paper traces the historical genealogy of the subjectivity and the silsim (實心, true mind) that appear in Jeong In-Bo's "gukhak" (國學, the national learning) thought and illuminates its characteristics. In the modern East Asian history of thought, the beginning of the emergence of subjectivity and the silsim as the main philosophical topic comes from the Neo-Confucianism of Song Dynasty in China. Cheng Yi is the first thinker to emphasize subjectivity and consciousness. Zhu Xi and Wang Yang-ming inherit the Neo-Confucian thought based on Cheng Yi's principle of subjectivity, but only show difference in methodology. In the Chosun Dynasty, Jeong Je-Doo and his School were one example of the Neo-Confucian spirit of subjectivity and the silsim. Although Jeong In-Bo (鄭寅普) belongs to Jeong Je-Doo's school of Ganghwa in the school curriculum, he has only used it methodologically since he believed that Yangming's learning is more effective in the awareness and practice of the silsim. Especially noteworthy is that the principle of subjectivity led Jeong In-Bo to follow the frame of Zhu Xi's moral theory. Jeong's claim that selfish desire (jasasim 自私心) should be controlled by a conscious mind (silsim) being aware of the right and 'ought to do' corresponds to Zhu Xi's view that the moral mind (dosim 道心) should be selected in the conflict situation between sensual desire (insim 人心) and moral consciousness so that the insim should be supervised by the dosim. Such ethics is a position to emphasize the inner motive and the sense of duty of conduct, and there is no fundamental difference in Zhu Xi and Wang Yang-ming. At least on this point, it is necessary to look at modern and contemporary Korean studies from the perspective of continuity, not discontinuity from Confucian tradition.

  • Non Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) is a technology to guarantee the explosively increased Quality of Service(QoS) of users in 5G networks. NOMA can remove the frequent orthogonality in Orthogonal Multiple Access (OMA) while allocating the power differentially to classify user signals. NOMA can guarantee higher communication speed than OMA. However, the NOMA has one disadvantage; it consumes a more energy power when the distance increases. To solve this problem, relay nodes are employed to implement the cooperative NOMA control idea. In a cooperative NOMA network, relay node participations for cooperative communications are essential. In this paper, a new bandwidth allocation scheme is proposed for cooperative NOMA platform. By employing the idea of Vickrey-Clarke-Groves (VCG) mechanism, the proposed scheme can effectively prevent selfishly actions of relay nodes in the cooperative NOMA network. Especially, base stations can pay incentives to relay nodes as much as the contributes of relay nodes. Therefore, the proposed scheme can control the selfish behavior of relay nodes to improve the overall system performance.

  • A 3-tonf class liquid rocket engine that powers the upper stage of a small launcher and lifts 500 kg payload to 500 km SSO is designed. The small launcher is to utilize the flight-proven technology of the 75-tonf class engine for the first stage. A combination of liquid oxygen and liquid methane has been selected as their cryogenic states can provide an extra boost in specific impulse as well as enable a weight saving via the common dome arrangement. An expander cycle is chosen among others as the low-pressure operation makes it robust and reliable while a specific impulse of over 360 seconds is achievable with the nozzle extension ratio of 120. Key components such as combustion chamber and turbopump are designed for additive manufacturing to a target cost. The engine system provides an evaporated methane for the autogenous pressurization system and the reaction control of the stage. This upper stage propulsion system can be extended to various missions including deep space exploration.

  • In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, manufacturing is the implementation of smart factories through digital transformation, and refers to consumer-centered intelligent factories that combine next-generation digital new technologies and manufacturing technologies beyond the existing factory automation level. In order to successfully settle such a smart factory, it is necessary to train professionals. However, education for smart factories is difficult to have actual field mechanical facilities or overall production processes. Therefore, there is a need for a system that can visualize and control the flow and process of logistics at the actual production site. In this paper, the logistics flow of the actual site was implemented as a small FMS, a physical system, and the production process was implemented as a digital system. In real-time synchronization of the physical system and the digital system, the location of AGV and materials, and the process state can be monitored to see the flow of logistics and process processes at the actual manufacturing site. The developed digital twin system can be used as an effective educational system for training manpower in smart factories.

  • Organizations are attempting a digital transformation that converts physical business processing into virtual business processing. Through this digital transformation, organizations are overcoming time and space constraints and creating competitiveness. The digital transformation of this work environment has been accelerated as many organizations have implemented remote work due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic. This study focused on business process virtualizability, which is the result of the rapid digital transformation of the work environment. Business process virtualizability is the resulting quality, such as the suitability or excellence of business processing in a virtual environment. This research model is the effect of process, IT and organizational characteristics on business process virtualizability. As a result of the verification of people who have experienced remote work in a virtual environment, first, it was confirmed that, in terms of process characteristics, sensory requirements affect business process virtualizability, but relationship requirements, synchronism requirements, and identification and control requirements do not. Second, in terms of IT characteristics, it was confirmed that representation and reach affect business process virtualizability. Third, it was confirmed that, in terms of organizational characteristics, job autonomy affects business process virtualizability, but evaluation unfairness does not. This study found that representation and reach of IT had the most significant influence on business process virtualizability, job autonomy was next, and sensory requirements had the lowest influence. This presents practical implications for organizations to increase the success potential of business process virtualizability.

  • Multi-screen service is a service that consumes more than one media in a number of terminals simultaneously or discriminately. This multi-screen service has become useful due to distribute of smart TV and terminals. Also, in case of hybrid broadcasting environment that is convergence of broadcasting and communication environment, it is able to provide various user experience through contents consumed by multiple screens. In hybrid broadcasting environment, scene composition technology can be used as an element technology for multi-screen service. Using scene composition technology, multiple media can be consumed complexly through the specified presentation time and space. Thus, multi-screen service based on the scene composition technology can provide spatial and temporal control and consumption of multiple media by linkage between the terminals. However, existing scene composition technologies are not able to use easily in hybrid broadcasting because of applicable environmental constraints, the difficulty in applying the various terminal and complexity. For this problems, HTML5 can be considered. HTML5 is expected to be applied in various smart terminals commonly, and provides consumption of diverse media. So, in this paper, it proposes the scene composition and multi-screen service technology based on HTML5 that is expected be used in various smart terminals providing hybrid broadcasting environment. For this, it includes the introduction in terms of HTML5 and multi-screen service, the method of providing information related with scene composition and multi-screen service through the extention of elements and attributes in HTML5, media signaling between terminals and the method of synchronization. In addition, the proposed scene composition and multi-screen service technology based on HTML5 was verified through the implementation and experiment.
