A Study on the Harmonics Simulation of the High Speed Electric Train Loads by Field Tests (현장시험에 의한 고속전철 부하의 고조파 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구)

  • High speed electric trains have nonlinear loads including converters and inverters for the control synchronous motors. Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. Direct application of the harmonic assessment to the snapshot measurements would result in ambiguous conclusions depending on which instant is sampled. A cumulative probablistic approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. Harmonic simulations are performed to evaluate the harmonic voltage and current distortions throughout the system. This paper provides an in depth analysis on harmonics field measurement of the high speed electric train loads, harmonics assessment by the international harmonic standards IEC 61000-3-6 and IEEE Std. 519-l992, and harmonics simulation using EDSA program for the case study.

  • The purpose of this paper is to control of the low-speed, high-precision PMSM 2-axes pitch/turning. In this paper, apply the PAM-PWM inverter for it. However, The PAM-PWM inverter, control algorithms and hardware is complex. But it is possible to improve the performance in the low-speed operation can reduce the effect of the PWM ripple and Dead Time of inverter by applying suitable DC-bus voltage control. The direct driver PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) configured to vector control part, PAM control part and the other controller. The vector control part includes PI current, speed control, additional space vector modulation. PAM control part has to have PI voltage controller and P current controller for DC-bus voltage control. Besides, the motor position estimator, the speed estimator and the counter electromotive force and Dead Time Compensation are added. With this arrangement, PMSM was driven with a low pole pitch/turning by performing the current control to the current command or torque command is the paper. As a result, it was possible to minimize the disturbance component that appears in the drive in proportion to the DC voltage magnitude. The use of a hydraulic drive method for a two-axis bubble column is a typical tank. When using the PWM PAM inverter driver is in the turret can be driven by high-precision, low vibration, low noise compared to the hydraulic drive may contribute to the computerization of the turret.

In this paper, in order to ensure safe use by third parties in the health care environment, classify the attributes of patient information and patient privacy protection technique using hierarchical multi-property rights proposed to classify information according to the role of patient hospital officials The.   • In this paper, an efficient training symbol design with m-sequence is proposed for the MIMO-OFDM based next generation wireless transmission system which supports gigabits per second data rate. In the traditional blute force method, the preamble design is based on the case by case comparison with the system requirements. This paper discusses a training symbol design methodology for the MIMO-OFDM system based on the m-sequence which has been widely used in the spread spectrum communication areas due to its good correlation characteristics. Also the step-by-step design and performance verification method within the limited search space is discussed. The proposed method targets the design of the training symbol which satisfies system requirements for the packet based MIMO-OFDM wireless communication system including automatic gain control(AGC), timing synchronization, frequency and sampling offset estimation, and MIMO channel estimation.

  • This paper proposes a three-phase Z-source dynamic voltage restorer (Z-DVR) to mitigate the voltage sag for the critical loads. The proposed system is composed of passive filter and Z-source topology inverter. As an ESS(Energy Storage System) of the proposed system is employed the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC). To calculate and control the harmonics and compensation voltage, $i_{d}-i_{q}$ theory in dq rotating reference frame and PI controller are used. In case that three-phase voltage sags occurred, a PSIM simulation was done for the performance comparison of the conventional method employed battery stacks and proposed method. As a result, considering the voltage compensation performance, each method was nearly similar. Also, the compensation performance and the %THD(%Total Harmonic Distortion) result under the various source voltage conditions (sag or swell) were presented and discussed to show the performance of the proposed system.

  • We report the performance of an open-frame type low-voltage high-current DC-DC converter module developed using an active clamp forward converter circuit and single ended rectifier. The converter module is designed with the specifications of an 3.3V output voltage, 30A output current, 100W output power and 36-75V input voltage. The synchronous rectifier is used to reduce the conduction loss at high current level and constant current control using precision PCB resistance is adapted to enhance the over current protection function in the system configuration. A prototype converter module is successfully implemented within 8mm height and quarter brick size (58x37mm) and recorded an $95W/in^3$ power density, 90.6$\%$ efficiency and 0.07$\%$ voltage regulation for the entire Input voltage range, thereby demonstrating its application potentials to future telecommunication electronics.

  • In this paper, we show how a curriculum using LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT robot based ROBOTC for undergraduate students has been developed, and we analyze the educational effect of the curriculum. The curriculum is composed of basic knowledge learning, practice with basic robots, practice with advanced robots, and creative design and implementation of robots. During the three year period since 2009, educational achievement has been analyzed by surveys for 6 classes, 94 students. According to the analysis, the curriculum has highly motivated the students and made them to achieve effectively our educational and academic goals. Also, we observe that the curriculum helped the students to improve their creativity and the problem solving skill, and that the students were autonomously and deeply involved in the homework and the term projects, which made them be very cooperative. Finally, the intensive practice with ROBOTC programming is shown to help students to improve their programming ability of C language.

Development of a Solid Modeler for Web-based Collaborative CAD System (웹 기반 협동CAD시스템의 솔리드 모델러 개발)

  • We propose a Web-based collaborative CAD system which is independent from any platforms, and develop a 3D solid modeler in the system. We developed a new prototype of 3D solid modeler based on the web using Java 3D API, which could be executed without any 3D graphics software and worked collaboratively interacting with each user. The modeler can create primitive objects and get various 3D objects by using loader. The interactive control is available to manipulate-objects such as picking, translating, rotating, zooming. Users connect to this solid modeler and they can create 3D objects and modify them as they want. When this solid modeler is imported to collaborative design system, it will be proved its real worth in today's CAD system. Moreover, if we improve this solid modeler adding to the 3D graphic features such as rendering and animation, it will be able to support more detail design and effect view.

  • Recently, the operator modules to control external devices are concerned about automatic management system to process continuously changed signals. They need a efficient data management with high reliability and real time processing. The characteristics of these data are a large volume, a short report interval and asynchronous report time. The typical queries of these systems consist of the current query to search the latest signal value, the snapshot query to search the signal value of a past time, the historical query to search the signal value of a past tine to current. In this paper, we propose the efficient method to manage the above signals by using a file structured database in QNX operating systems. The data communications among the devices are done by Profibus-FMS protocol and the file databases are used for adjusting monitoring frequency and storing signals. The file database adopts a delta version and a periodical back up in due consideration of the resource limit of a small storage and a low computing power in QNX COM(Cabinet Operator Module).

  • A series active power filter compensating current harmonics and unbalanced source voltages in a 3phase-3wire power system is presented. The system is composed of series active power filter and shunt passive filters that are tuned at 5th and 7th harmonics. The proposed series active power filter improves harmonic compensation characteristics of the shunt passive filters, reduces source side harmonic currents and compensates the unbalanced source voltages. In the proposed algorithm, compensation voltage for harmonic reduction is calculated by a performance function, and compensation voltage for the unbalanced source voltage is calculated based on the synchronous reference frame. Some results obtained from the experimental model using the proposed method are Presented to demonstrate and confirm its validity.
