The purpose of this study is to identify reading competency and its components according to the concept of reading competency in order to strengthen the reading competency of children and adolescents with disabilities, develop diagnostic questions, and provide basic data for the development of a reading competency diagnostic tool for children and adolescents with disabilities, Research methods include literature research, brainstorming, delphi survey, and preliminary research. As a result of the study, the components of the reading competency diagnostic tool are broadly divided into 2 areas (affective domain, environmental domain), 4 categories (reading motivation, reading attitude, human environment, and physical environment), and a total of 13 components in each of the 4 categories (Reading interest, reading value, reading recognition, reading expectations, reading habits, reading efficacy, reading immersion, reading anxiety (avoidance), home/family, school/teacher, peers, reading environment, media environment) and the corresponding questions. was developed. Based on these results, a direction for developing a reading competency diagnostic tool for children and adolescents with disabilities was presented.

This survey is performed to propose the direction of policy development on reading education for Jeollabukdo Office of Education. To do this, this survey asked 239 teachers who are in charge of each school's reading education. The questionnaire is designed to investigate the effectiveness of current support projects from Jeollabukdo Office of Education, current level of schools' reading education and priorities of policy development. The findings of this survey are as follows: The teachers are contented with current support projects. Each school provides an average of 4 reading programs per year. Elementary schools' level of reading education is higher than middle and high schools' level. And more employment of full time reading experts as teacher librarian and the improvement of school libraries are revealed to be more important priorities on the policy development of reading education. Based on these findings, this study proposed maintenance of current support projects, improvement of school libraries, development of specialized policies for elementary schools, enhancement of reading teachers' expertise and preparation of information sharing system as the direction of policy development.

This study was to present a model of cooperative reading practice and verify reading effectiveness on youth. For this purpose, 68 reading clubs were established in 61 districts and 8 high schools. The research groups were classified as the poor reading group, the good reading group, and the mixed-skill reading group. The cooperative reading groups were carried out for four months. We developed a questionnaire on Reading effectiveness conducted it pre- and post-test, and analyzed the results through the SPSS statistical program. We found that there was a positive change in the reading effectiveness of youth and overall-the highest effectiveness was found in the poor reading group. In addition, there was a positive change in the reading behavior of youth. The change of reading effectiveness was found to affect reading behavior.

This research allows purpose to illuminate Reading Popularization Movement and readers' interest in the 1960's. The purpose of this study is to change the perspective of reading culture promotion and future-oriented through analysis of readers' reading behavior that evolved by changing reading media such as e-books and various media, providing access to reading in 5G-enabled daily life, and communicating in various ways. The task of promoting reading culture was presented as follows. (1) Accurate research on readers and non-readers should be conducted. (2) In addition to accurate recognition of reading media, a multi-faceted model for reading behavior should be prepared. (3) It is necessary to quickly understand the trend of readers' reading behavior. (4) Finally, it is urgent to develop 'reading' related applications in the public domain.

This study investigated an actual condition of students' reading through the survey from 1,285 students in Jeollabuk-do and analysed the casual relationships which affect students' reading ability. 4 variables selected in this study are students' reading ability, reading environment, reading education and reading experiences. The results are as follow: the level of students' reading experience which means the number of books they read and time they consumed for reading is very low compared to the other variables. The reading level of elementary students is revealed higher than that of middle and high school students. The relationships among variables found out through the analysis are that reading education is influenced by reading environment, reading experience is affected by reading education and eventually reading ability is mainly affected by students' reading experience. Through these findings, this study proposed that expansion of students' reading experience and systematization of reading education are needed to strengthen their reading ability effectively.

Increased mental and psychological wounds and problems in modern humans has resulted in improve the recognition about the importance and necessity of bibliotherapy, and an increase in research related to bibliotherapy. We need to analyze the trend of bibliotherapy research at this point in time from various viewpoints for future development of research on bibliotherapy and establishment of recognition for bibliotherapy. The purpose of the study is to suggest a conceptual framework for the vacation reading programs in promoting children's love of reading in public libraries. Within the conceptual framework of free voluntary reading (FVR), the study identified the concept of reading that public libraries should pursue in developing children's reading programs and analyzed current vacation reading programs that four public libraries in Seoul held during winter and summer vacations of 2013. More specifically, the study analyzed (1) their purposes, (2) durations, targeted children groups, the number of children users, (3) their instructors, (4) the content design of the programs, (5) selected books, and (6) completion certificates and rewards for participation. Lastly, the study discussed whether the programs satisfied the characteristics for promoting free voluntary reading and played the roles for vacation reading programs in public libraries. The results of the study suggest the need for shifting the current vacation reading programs to be more inclusive, so that more children can develop to learn love of reading.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Reading Promotion Program of Public Library on Reading Activity. For this purpose, this study carried out carried out literature review, readingmarathon program development and operation. It was followed by the questionnaire survey and interview about reading activity of readingmarathon program participants. The findings are as follows 1) People of high satisfaction increased reading volume and frequency of library use 2) Book talk with family members increased after participating in readingmarathon program. The readingmarathon program had a positive effect on reading activity.
