The purpose of this study is to reveal how undergraduate students' computer literacy and library knowledge can affect their frequency of library material use and information literacy, and analyze the correlations between frequency of library material use and information literacy. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to students of 7 universities in 8 credit-given user education courses, and correlations with variables were analyzed through hypothesis testing. It was suggested that with strong support of university administration, user education should be taught by using more of scholarly library material.

The knowledge-based society needs creative and active knowledge workers. To meet the need of this modern society, Korea education begins to focus on reading ability of students and project-based school education. The 7th School Education Program requires performance evaluation, optional activites, and extracurricular activites and the school library is a necessary facility for these educational activities. Ministry of Education of Korea made a master plan to rebuild the school library for The 7th School Education Program. The master plan includes the assistance for the school library facility, school library materials, budget, the library staff. And also the master plan includes promotion for school education in the library to develop the school library as the center of school education.

The research is intended to establish the importance of background knowledge in reading process and suggest a revitalization plan for the schema for reading education. The reading process as fundamental research and the schema conception have been studied and the present situation of reading education in the school libraries has been inspected. This research reviewed the reading strategies which school libraries require for the revitalization of the schema and based on this data, a method of SQ3R reading has been applied and a class model developed. As an outcome, a guidance plan for instruction was proposed and learning-activity materials applying graphic organizer have been produced. Subsequently, a class in school library was conducted. Following the outcome of the class and an expert's review of the class model, this research has developed a class model for the revitalization of the schema for reading education in school libraries.

This study aimed to compare and analyze librarian teacher evaluation index from evaluation of teachers' competency development with the the topics of information utilization education. To this end, LDA topic modeling was conducted by collecting papers related to information utilization education published in four major journals in the field of literature and information from 1995 to May 2022. As a result of topic modeling, it can be seen that information utilization education (T10) was the most actively discussed at 12.0% of the 20 topics, followed by library utilization classes (T2) 10.4% and user service (T3) 8.8%.On the other hand, 3.3% of reading discussion (T7), 2.9% of reading education (T19), 2.1% of manpower management (T13), and 2.1% of librarian teacher job satisfaction (T17) showed the lowest distributions 3.3%, 2.9%, 2.1%, and 2.1%, respectively. In addition, although librarian teacher's class model development (T1) and curriculum development (T20) are essential processes for collaborative classes and information utilization education, they were not reflected in the current teacher competency development evaluation index. Therefore, this study proposed that 'instructional model and curriculum development' indicator should be added on 'training and support classes' factors in the Librarian Teacher Evaluation Index in Teachers' Competency Development Evaluation for further evaluation.

This study aims to suggest the ways to reinforce academic library's supports for users' class·learning activities. For this purpose, this study collected the development plans of academic libraries in Korea, and analysed the plans for supporting class·learning activities. As a result, it is shown that the most libraries emphasized 'expansion of learning material' and marked it on development plan. As subsequent plans, libraries provided the action plans of 'expansion of reading education and reading programs', 'expansion of electronic materials', 'expansion of characterized materials' one after another. This study suggests 'user-centered collection development and expansion of learning materials', 'activation of library services making use of big data', 'enlargement of engagement services for handicapped and foreign students' as ways to strengthen the services of academic libraries to support class·learning activities of users.

This paper aims to suggest new strategies for operating school library digital resource room by analyzing the current states of 349 school library digital resource room and its educational effects. The project for school library digital resource room provided the foundations for the various informational and educational services : extended information materials, changes in library environment, collecting information through the web sites, providing authentic materials, reading instruction, library assisted instruction (LAI). The suggestions are as follows. 1) The national standards is required for the digital resources room in school libraries. 2) Reading and information literacy instruction should be institutionalized. 3) Library assisted instruction (LAI) should be included in school curriculum. 4) Professionally qualified teacher librarians are required for planning and managing the school library. 5) School library in-service program is needed for all members of the school community.

This study analyzed cases of collaborative classes between a teacher librarian and Chinese language teacher by applying problem-based learning (PBL) and intended to propose a desirable direction for class in operating collaborative classes of PBL. In order to achieve this purpose, methods to raise problems by BPL at the library of S High School, class content by each round of class, and cases of students' achievements were presented. In addition, statistical analysis of interest in subjects on 101 students in their sophomore year who had participated in PBL class was conducted. According to the study result, students' learning-related desire to accomplish, executive ability of learning, and interest were significantly improved.

Recently, there has been a growing demand for school libraries to take on the role of curriculum convergence and content development. This study purposed to develop a program that integrates reading activities and artificial intelligence (AI) education in a middle school library as a platform for convergence education. The program aimed to enhance creative problem-solving skills by integrating an understanding of AI concepts and principles through reading activities related to AI topics. The program, comprising 18 sessions (6 modules), was implemented with 36 first-year students at A Middle School, Gyeonggi-do, in 2022. After implementation, a paired-sample t-test revealed significant improvements in AI learning self-efficacy and creative problem-solving skills. Participants also showed positive attitudes toward class engagement and reading activities. Implications for AI convergence education in connection with school libraries were discussed.

The purpose of this study is to identify characteristics of secondary school teachers' perceptions and experiences of school libraries and to suggest strategies for its' activation. In order to achieve this aim, the questionnaire survey was conducted for 229 secondary school teachers who participated in K university qualification training in 2017. As a result, they recognize that school libraries are an essential facility and that continuous support and investment are needed. They think that the effectiveness of the school library is very helpful for creating a leisure and cultural life and for stimulating reading atmosphere and education, and this perception is stronger at lower ages. The number of school library use of them is as low as once a month, and the purpose of use is mainly for cultivation and leisure. The discomfort of the school library is mostly due to lack of materials and space for them. In particular, they have a lack of knowledge and necessity about the method of library-based instruction and insufficient preparation time and poor materials. Teachers are highly aware of the need and utility of training, and prefer training with peers. Therefore, it is necessary to develop strategies such as remodeling space and increasing collections for their study and instruction, and foster peer supervision so that they can actively utilize school library in subjects management.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that hinder the role recognition and role performance of teacher librarians and suggest some improvement methods. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted among 41 persons who participated in the first-level qualification training for teachers librarians at K University Secondary Teacher Training Institute in 2019.The results showed that there was a difference between the expected role and the execution role of the teacher librarians. In other words, teacher librarians recognize that they should teach information literacy as instructors and operate library-based instruction and cooperative classes as teaching partners. However, the most frequently played roles are reading education and library use education. They recognizes the cause as institutional limitations, such as the absence of a national level curriculum and the ambiguity of the role of specialists in school libraries. And it is perceived as a real problem such as the lack of partnership and recognition of their peers. Among the variables of teacher librarians, the higher their educational level, the more they perceived their peers as teachers. Based on this, some suggestions for strengthening the role of the teacher librarians' instructor and teaching partner were proposed in terms of including cross-curricular subjects of information literacy education, analyzing jobs and establishing scholarship system for school libraries.
