A Fundamental Study on Analysis of Electromotive Force and Updating of Vibration Power Generating Model on Subway Through The Bayesian Regression and Correlation Analysis (베이지안 회귀 및 상관분석을 통한 지하철 진동발전 모델의 수정과 기전력 분석)

  • This study is to update of vibration power generating model and to analyze electromotive force on subway. Analysis of electromotive force using power generation depending on classification of locations which are ballast bed and concrete bed. As the section between Seocho and Bangbae in the line 2 subway was changed from ballast bed to concrete bed, it could be analyzed at same condition, train, section. Induced electromotive force equation by Faraday's law was updated using Bayesian regression and correlation analysis with calculate value and experiment value. Using the updated model, it could get 40mV per one power generation in ballast bed, and it also could get 4mV per one power generation in concrete bed. If the updated model apply to subway or any train, it will be more effective to get electric power. In addition to that, it will be good to reduce greenhouse gas and to build a green traffic network.

  • The major objective of this study is to investigate the dynamic behaviors of track due to the deterioration characteristics of ballast for servicing tracks by the field test. The durability of ballast plays an important role in the track behaviour. To estimate the deterioration characteristics of ballast, several tests have been carried out by several scholars. The deterioration characteristics of ballast is one of the most important factor in the dynamic behaviour of track and its life. In this paper abrasion/breakage characteristics of ballast is studied to predict the effect of physical ballast characteristics on ballast track. To reveal deterioration characteristics of ballast, the field test were carried out. The deterioration characteristics, studied in this paper, is applied to the dynamic behaviour of track in various conditions.

Cross-Sectional Imaging of Elastic Modulus for Railway Trackbed under Ballast for Identification of Potential Settlement (침하가능성 확인을 위한 자갈도상 철도노반의 탄성계수 단층영상화)

  • Recently a limited section of trackbed with ballast at KTX railway were reported to have settled down and led to problems such as reduced speed and passenger discomfort. Therefore, an urgent remedy for the settled trackbed is required to recover normal operation of KTX trains. In this paper, a new technique is proposed to visualize the elastic modulus of cross sections at railway trackbeds under ballast for practical identification of potential settlement. The proposed technique is based on ICSW technique, enabling use of impact source and overcoming inherent limitations of CSW method. To verify validity and feasibility of the proposed method, the method was employed to construct cross-sectional images of elastic modulus of two railway trackbeds and compared with other tests such as SASW, PBT, DCP and portable FWD tests.

  • Recently, attempts have been made to detect fouling patterns in the ground using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) during the maintenance of gravel ballast railway tracks. However, dealing with GPR signal data obtained with a large amount of noise in a site where complex ground conditions are mixed, often depends on the experience of experts, and there are many difficulties in precise analysis. Therefore, in this study, a numerical modeling technique that can quantitatively simulate the GPR signal characteristics according to the degree of fouling of the gravel ballast material was proposed using python-based open-source code gprMax and RSA (Random sequential Absorption) algorithm. To confirm the accuracy of the simulation model, model tests were manufactured and the results were compared to each other. In addition, the identification of the fouling layer in the model test and analysis by various test conditions was evaluated and the results were analyzed.

Damage Cause Analysis of Concrete Sleepers for Sharp Curved Track on Urban Railway Bridge (도시철도 교량상 급곡선 자갈궤도용 콘크리트침목 손상원인 분석)

  • In this study, the causes of damage to the concrete sleepers in a ballast track with under sleeper pads attached to the base of the sleepers installed in the sharp curved track(R=180m) of the urban railway bridge were analyzed. The damage types of concrete sleepers were investigated, and the correlation with track irregularity was reviewed. Also, stress generated in the concrete sleeper was reviewed through structural analysis. As a result, most of the cracks of the sleepers occurred in the section with severe track irregularity. In addition, as a result of the analysis, the stress generated in the track components and the sleepers was found to be reduce in the fastening system using the 4-anchor.
