구미에서의 ITS 도로통신의 표준화 동향

  • 미국과 유럽에서 추진되고 있는 ITS(Intelligent Transport Systems : 고도도로교통시스템) 도로통신에서 취급하는 정보의 정의, 통신방식의 표준화 등의 동향에 대한 개요를 기술한다. 미국에서는 NTCIP(National Transportation Communication for ITS Protocol)라 불리우는 통신프로토콜, 데이터 딕셔너리, 메시지 셋트 등의 표준화가, 유럽에서는 DATEX-Net라는 데이터 교환의 표준화가 추진되고 있다. 이들은 ITS 분야에서의 시스템 간 및 장치간의 상호운용성$\cdot$호환성을 확보하고 통합적으로 ITS를 전개해가기 위한 기반정비의 주요 항목이다. 양자 공히 표준적인 통신프로토콜이 채용되고 있으나 정보내용, 메시지포맷에 대하여는 NTCIP가 ASN.1(Abstract Systax Notation 1)에서 기술한 MIB(Management Information Base)구조를 갖고 있는 한편, Datex-NET는 독자적인 구조의 사전과 EDIFACT(Electronic Data Interchange for Administration Commerce and Transport)에 따른 메시지사양으로 되어 있어 공통성이 없다. 그러나 센터간 통신에 관하여는 미국에서 제안한 DATEX-ASN이라는 표준화 안에 대하여 유럽에서 전향적인 평가를 하고 있어 통일화의 징조가 보이고 있다.

  • 최근 통신, 전자, 제어, 기계등의 첨단기술을 적용하여 도로와 차량 그리고 운전자의 일체화를 통한 교통체계의 효율화, 첨단화, 정보화를 실현하기 위한 ITS(Intelligent Transport System)연구가 많이 진행되고있다. 그러나 이러한 ITS에서의 기본적인 자료인 도로위치정보의 정확도가 낮은 단계인 자료로서 시스템을 구축하고 있다. 또한 기존도로의 설계자료나 수치지도가 없는 지역인 경우가 많아 그 자료들을 획득하는데 많은 비용이 소모된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 GPS 측위기법과 수치사진측량의 기법으로 도로중심선을 추출하여 보다 정확한 기법을 제시하고자한다.

  • This paper handles the design of a real time traffic data acquisition system using loop detector and piezo-electric sensor to acquire the vehicle information EISA compatible parallel I/O interface card is designed to sample 30 I/O channels at variable rates for raw traffic data acquisition. The control software is designed to generate the traffic data informations from the raw data. The traffic data information provides vehicle length, speed, number of axles, etc. Vehicle types are detected and categorized into eleven types from the vehicle length, axles positions and axle counts information. The traffic information is formed into packet and transferred to the remote hosts through serial communications for ITS applications.

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS) enables road users to enhance efficiency of their trips in a variety of traffic conditions. As a significant part of ITS, information communication technology among vehicles and between vehicles and infrastructure has been being developed to upgrade current traffic data collection technology through location-based traffic surveillance systems. A wider and detailed range of traffic data can be acquired with ease by the technology. However, its performance level falls with environmental impediments such as large vehicles, buildings, harsh weather, which often bring about wireless communication failure. For imputation of vehicle trajectory data discontinued by the failure, several potential existing methods were reviewed and a new method to complement them was devised. AIMSUN API(Application Programming Interface) software was utilized to simulate vehicle trajectories data and missing vehicle trajectories data was randomly generated for the verification of the method. The method was proven to yield more accurate and reliable traffic data than the existing ones.

  • VANET 은 ITS 구축에 필수적인 기술로 주변 교통 시스템 환경을 고려한 라우팅 프로토콜이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 도시 기반의 VANET 환경에서 차량 간의 안정적이고 빠른 통신을 위하여 차량 밀도를 이용한 라우팅 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 라우팅 기법에서는 하나의 도로를 여러 개의 cell 들로 나누고 차량들은 비콘 메시지와 cell 정보를 이용하여 차량 밀도를 계산한다. 이 차량 밀도를 이용하여 도로를 여러 개의 등급으로 나누고 이 등급을 기반으로 하여 가장 안정적인 경로를 설정한다.

  • In this paper, we propose the verification platform for traffic information of TPEG. Verification platform contains the parsing module of TPEG data and the processing module of GPS data. We compared the traffic information of GPS devices with traffic information of TPEG data. As a result, traffic information from TPEG data is distinguished from actual road traffic information.

  • Recently, the number of private cars has increased sharply due to the increase in national income. The sudden increase in the number of vehicles in limited territory has caused serious traffic congestion and the traffic congestion cost wasted on the road due to such traffic congestion is increasing every year. To solve this problem, we propose a traffic signal control system using image processing. In this paper, we use the camera installed at the intersection to measure the amount of traffic flowing in and out of each road simultaneously. We propose a traffic signal control system that can prevent traffic congestion before it happens. In the case of applying the traffic signal control system proposed in this paper to the daytime, the traffic volume could be measured accurately. However, the result of the experiment with the night-time general camera and the headlight with the infrared camera at the night-time of 72.8% was 86.6%.

  • We propose a traffic information service system for which traffic data are transmitted over vehicle ad-hoc network from neighbor vehicles, and eventually provided to the traffic information center through a few gateway vehicles which are capable of inter-working with the infrastructure network like 3G. The center broadcasts the traffic information through the FM radio. The proposed scheme allows collecting and analyzing traffic status of large areas without incorporating separated monitoring systems, e.g., probe cars and enables to provide accurate traffic information to drivers in timely manner. We also evaluate its performance by ns-3 simulation.

  • The signal intersection is the most challenging space for autonomous vehicles. To promote the safe driving of autonomous vehicles on urban roads with traffic signals, autonomous vehicles need to receive traffic signal information from infrastructure through V2I communication. Thus, a protocol for providing traffic signal information was added to the standard traffic signal controller specification of the National Police Agency. On the other hand, there are technical limitations when applying this to digital traffic signal controllers because the protocols are defined mainly for analog traffic signal controllers. Therefore, this study proposes developing a signal information linkage module to provide traffic signal information from a digital traffic signal controller to an autonomous vehicle and an algorithm improvement method that can provide accurate traffic signal information at the time of traffic signal transition.

  • The decisive factor for the popularization of telematics services in the future isn the ability to produce advanced service that match the needs of drivers and passengers. The Dedicated Short Range Communication(DSRC)-type of wireless communication system, which is being developed for the Intelligent Transport System(ITS), is one of the broadband wireless systems contributing to the improvement of driver and passenger needs, such as convenience, entertainment, comfort and safety. In this paper, the possibility of applying this system to the traffic information collection service will be explored. Further, a description of the service design for the traffic information collection system using electronic toll collection service will be provided, in the knowledge that the existence of information communication equipment mounted vehicles will remain.
