This study examines on the impact of biodiversity in circular greenspace of Cheongju city since 2002 greenbelt release. Research has carried out to investigate the biotope pattern change with landscape fragmentation. Major landscape fragmentation has occurred with development of residential sector and build-up of major highways. Settlement has been expanded to the entire area connected to urban district excluding the eastern forest. North-south district shows high road density, where inter-regional roads meet in the cross-section. It is found that landscape fragmentation impact on species richness as well as population size of the species varies depending on the animal species. The birds show high species richness in N2, N3, N4, S2(north-south zone) even with high fragmentation rate. This can be explained that birds can access to aquatic environment where they can find abundant food resources. The amphibians and the reptiles show almost no zonal variation in species richness than the birds. The more a zone fragmented in small patches, the species richness of the amphibians and the reptiles also tends to be declined. Information accumulation on biodiversity for integrating landscape planning in urban planning, various level of community participation in decision making process, and cross border cooperation with neighbouring Cheongwon-gun will be required for sustainable greenspace management of Cheongju City.

The concern on environmental quality makes the landscape analysis more important than before ever. For the landscape analysis, selection of viewpoint is one of most important stage. Because of its subjectiveness, the conventional viewpoint selection method often missed some viewpoints of importance. The purpose of this study is to develop a viewpoint selection method for landscape analysis using GIS data and techniques. During the viewpoint selection process, spatial and attribute data from several GIS systems were hired. Query and overlay methods were mainly adapted for analysis to find out meaningful viewpoints. The 3D simulation analysis on DEM(Digital Elevation Model) was used for every selected viewpoint to examine wether the view target is screened out or not. Application study at a sample site showed some omissions of good viewpoints without any screening. It also exhibited the possibility to reduce time and cost for the viewpoint selection process of landscape analysis. For the progress of applicability, GIS data analysis process have to be improved and more modules such as automatic screening analysis system on selected viewpoint have to be developed.

This study aims to suggest improvements in night landscape lighting of Bomun Lake, a representative waterfront landscape in Gyeongju which is the city designated as UNESCO World Heritage in December 2000. This study divided the area into three types of sections-that is, road section, walking section, and landscape section- based on the present condition of land use and users of the Bomun Lake area. In addition, this study classified the lightingtypes by section into nine lighting types-that is, road, crossroad, parking lot, pedestrian passage, trail, sculpture, tree, waterfront deck-by comparing them to the park lighting types suggested by the KS A illuminance standards, and examined the problems of the current Bomun Lake lighting base on the standards. By using this as basic data, this study established relevant plans and collected research material. This study suggested directions of each of the three sections and improvements in illuminance, color temperature, creating methods of each of the nine lighting types to the night Lighting planning of the Bomun Lake area reflecting the landscape characteristics of Gyeongju, a historical, cultural city.

Ecosystem is composed of human, biotic and abiotic environment. Landscape is an ecosystem which appear in a unit region. These landscape are the spatiotemporal land mosaic which is combined with various landscape elements. And, land use and land cover changes are important factors of landscape structure changes. This study is mainly focused on the analysing the spatiotemporal change patterns of Daegu metropolitan sphere forest landscape, using landscape indices and Ecosystem Service Value (ESV) which quantify ecosystem structures and functions. The results of this study are as follow: The encroachment and fragmentation of forest were due to linear developments, i. e. road construction, rather than large-scale developments such as residental lands or industrial complexes. And, the core area percentages of landscape gradually decreased and these could possibly deteriorate the soundness of forest areas by reducing the core areas which are habitats of species. In addition, there was intimate relations between ESV and forest landscape area. The results of this study can be detached standards for impartial judgements between the logic of development & conservation, and basic standards for the establishment of development plans, i. e. metropolitan-plans, which are adequately reflected ecosystem value.

This paper proposes a management method for a coastal black pine forest landscape considering the parallax effect. For the study, 10 coastal black pine forests in Gangneung were investigated about the average width of the coastal forests, the average diameters, and the intervals of the pines. Categorizations were realized for the 3 types of scene(sea, field, mountain, residential area, commercial area), diameter(16cm, 22cm, 28cm) and interval(5m, 7m, 10m) to produce a total of 45 scenic simulations. An investigation was made on the scenic preferences using 45 simulation images with S.D, and Likert Scales. The results were as follows: According the comparison of scenic preferences, natural landscapes(sea, field, and mountain) ranked high among preferences, with fabricated landscapes(residential area, commercial area) ranked low. The highest scenic preferences were shown with the seascape and an interval of 7m between the trees. On the contrary, the interrelationship was very low between the visual quantity of the scenic's elements(green, sky, building, road etc.) and the scenic preferences. As the results of the factor analysis, the 3 sense factors of "Depth(78.0%)" "Diversity(l5.6%)" and "Spatiality(6.4%)" explained coastal scenic preferences. "Spatiality" showed significant differences at intervals of 5~7m, and 10m between trees. This shows coastal forest management based on the interval of 10m standard affecting scenic preference.

This Study is about driving simulation after road design by 3D-GIS in digital elevation model from digital aerial photogrammetry. For designing roads efficiently it's very important to consider geographical features before design when analyze the view. Nevertheless, existing studies is mainly restricted in the mountainous, despite of using digital map or aerial photogrammetry and the study which used aerial photo in the area where the road designing is made really is not get executed. Therefore, this study will do 3D-road design and driving simulation by appling really road design data to topography, on the basis of digital elevation generated from aerial photogrammetry.

This study aims to develop an effective model of the optimum route determination by using digital terrain model. So in this study I select testing areas and analyse comparing the usual method with the digital terrain model method. And then I present one of the optimum route determination models by analysing an anticipated view and other roads according to the development plan. In usual method, the selected area was analysed by using panoramic terrestrial and aerial photograph. But in this study I represent the present terrain by using digital terrain materials which was acquired by a check form map of the selected area, and predict the route line according to the view points by using basic development plan. As a result of using the digital terrain model method in the optimum route determination with terrestrial photograph, it is possible to explain the terrain in detail when the present conditions terrain is analysed. As we can anticipated many sided road in large scale development plan with digital terrain materials which was used in analysing the present terrain, it is possible to lead to more effective route planning, landers planning and the optimum road determination than the usual method in the basic plan.
Five bases for of highways are sight distance, vehicle stability, driver comfort, drainage and aesthetics. Among these bases, the sight distance is the most critical one in the highway alignment design. It is certain that highways and drivers' observation actions are 3-dimensional in nature. But, the highway alignment design and the sight distance analysis have been performed on 2-dimensional planes because of various constraints and complexity of calculating 3-dimensional sight distance. The purpose of this study is to derive a model for determining exact available sight distance in 3-D combined horizontal and vertical alignments. Application of the model is illustrated using numerical examples. The proposed model should be useful in quantifying the criteria for 3-D highway alignments.

Darangyi paddy in Namhae Gachon village provides natural beauty with its distinct location. Darangyi is a traditional Korean landscape, shaping a circular form to serve continuous cultivation. Despite the paddy's landscape, it is difficult to preserve its natural scenery due to many factors such as inadequate visual analysis. Under the belief that there is a necessity to preserve Darangyi paddy, the research in visual features of the paddy began to illustrate the relevance between its viewpoint and landscape objects. First, we researched typical view structures. When considering the visual features, Darangyi paddy landscape objects has a viewpoint from the horizontality to its below, which its center area is about $-5^{\circ}{\sim}-30^{\circ}$. From the analyzed data, the scenary of Darangyi paddy, which most people agree its decency, is formed in a visually decent location. The above type of measure of visual structure in Darangyi paddy is expected to be applied in maintenance of foothold of views in the future. Second, the surrounding elements play important parts to form the whole landscape of Gachon Darangyi paddy. Although Darangyi paddy is the principal part of the scenary, the landscape analysis showed a high relevance with the paddy's identity, forest around the paddy, sky, ocean, settlements, and the roads in terms of visual perception. It was affirmed that those elements around the paddy play important parts in structuring and providing the beauty of the whole landscape. Various viewy objects are seen obvious especially in a long distance, and the splendid scenary proved that those viewy objects are in indispensable location. In order to preserve the paddy, it seems necessary to consider the surrounding envrionment of Darangyi paddy, not just the paddy's sole landscape form. Third, Darangyi paddy has a distinct seasonal characteristics. According to the survey analysis, the full heading time in spring and time when people can take a picture against the sun light proved magnificence of Darangyi paddy. Thus, it would be ideal to maintain Darangyi paddy by securing the sunlight condition with decent landscape view and the views from its surrounding environments or researching the ways to principally maintain the surrounding environments.
