  • In this paper, we propose suggestions for developing a Metaverse platform for educational purpose utilizing a Delphi study method with experts on Metaverse and digital education. 17 experts participated in the 1st study and 16 took part in the 2nd study, and data was collected via emails from January 5th to 10th for the 1st study and from January 12th to 17th for the 2nd study in 2022. Collected data in the 1st study was analyzed by applying content analysis. The results for the 1st study indicated that there were 120 sub-factors were derived from 7 main questions(the necessity of a Metaverse platform for future education, how to use the Metaverse platform for education to improve the capacities needed for future human resources, problems that may arise during education using the Metaverse platform, the functions that the Metaverse platform for education should have, the infrastructure and environment required when using the Metaverse platform for education, how to use the Metaverse effectively as a learning space, subjects and educational contents that will be effective if conducted on the Metaverse platform for education). The results for the 2nd study were presented by being ranked with calculated means of sub-factors for each question. Finally, based on the results, suggestions for building a Metaverse platform for educational purpose are stated and limitations of the study and possible future study are discussed.

  • Integrated concepts that are broad enough to embrace facts, principles, laws, and concepts of multiple disciplines could become the core of integrated education. Integrated concept-centered education enables effective and practical learning. In this study, the Delphi Method was implemented targeting experts in science (physics, life science, chemistry, and earth science) and humanities (history, geology, economics, ethics, and politics) to find out the integrated concept that can be used to design the concept-centered integrated education in the Republic of Korea. 124 experts participated in this survey. Delphi survey was conducted for three rounds. In the first round, an open questionnaire was given to experts to collect feasible integrated concepts in each major field. Then, in the second round experts were asked to select integrated concepts that could be used practically in the field of their major. In the third round, the integrated concept with selection frequency over medium value were given. They were asked to evaluate the applicability of integrated concepts by using the Likert-scale questionnaire. Through this process, content validity was analyzed. As a result, five integrated concepts (change, interaction, space-time, energy, and equilibrium) were selected for the inter-science integration. And thirteen integrated concepts (conflict, community, relationship, structure, power, diversity, culture, change, society, interaction, freedom, justice, and equality) were chosen for the inter-humanities integration. Finally, for the science-humanities integration, seven integrated concepts (structure, diversity, change, interaction, cycle, system, and environment) were determined.

  • This study aims to develop of contents for the activities of daily living training - Korean version that reflexes the domestic situation and can be applied to clinical practice. For contents development, a Delphi survey was conducted with 13 experts. In the first Delphi survey, 133 items of activities of daily living training are derived based on previous studies, and then the extracted items are asked to group of experts, and the derived items are answered for actual domestic clinical application. In the second survey, 118 items were added by excluding items with a low content validity ratio (CVR) including the results of the first survey, and adding items that can be derived from other opinions. In the 3rd survey, while presenting the 2nd Delphi survey items as they are, it provides an opportunity to change their opinions by presenting their 2nd response and the 2nd average score of other expert panels, and adding appropriateness and importance together. The data were analyzed to obtain the mean, standard deviation, interquartile range, CVR, convergence, and consensus. Finally, a total of 69 items were selected and 49 items were excluded so that 105 items for CVR 0.54 or higher, 111 items for convergence degree 0.50 or lower, and 70 items for continuity degree 0.75 or higher. Sexual activity, care of others, care of pets, and child rearing are difficult to apply socially and culturally, driving and community mobility cannot be performed within the clinical room, and home establishment and management may have different roles depending on gender, and religious spiritual activities and expression are so personal. For these reasons, these items were found to have low importance or suitability. This study can be usefully used as an indicator on the activities of daily living training - Korean version in clinic or community setting.

  • The purpose of this study was to establish a Korean reading ability assessment category based on a reading comprehension theory, and to establish an evaluation framework for Korean reading ability after creating the evaluation factors corresponding to each category through expert Delphi survey. The three levels of reading comprehension that were constructed are the following: language knowledge, text comprehension, and interpretation and comprehension of new ideas and application. This study suggested that constructs of Korean reading assessment reflected reading theory. This study has meaningful consequences which suggest verified constructs through Delphi surveys.

  • The security activity suitable for the port can be achieved, provided that the physical security factors specialized for the port security should be presented as preceding conditions. The advanced research about the theoretical data of the port security factors is incomplete and the study on the physical security factors of the port facilities should be done. In this study, the necessity and suitability of port security factors was evaluated with Delphi technique. Consequently, 19 variables of physical security factors were derived in the primary survey and through the second survey of necessity evaluation and the third survey of suitability evaluation 12 variables were selected as the physical security factors of th port facilities.

  • The focus of traditional evaluations of ontologies is largely performance-based. A comparison of a new ontology with well-established ones, testing of ontologies in different applications, as well as any judgment of an ontology's appropriateness and relatedness to source data heavily rely on what results that ontology seems to manifest. This study, on the other hand, is an attempt to evaluate the quality of a particular ontology as manifested by its structure, representation, and interoperability. To that end, major categories of quality evaluations were first identified through an extensive survey of literature. Evaluation questions were formulated from these categories using the Delphi method and were validated by ontology experts. The entire process produced a set of 53 evaluation questions, which was then employed to test the quality of a newly-developed smartphone ontology.

  • The study aims to design and suggest criteria of the academic credit approval for those who obtain diverse qualifications. In order to achieve the objectives of this research, a Delphi survey was conducted. Consequently this study suggests the following, based on the argument that existing credit approval system covering all qualifications requires improvement especially due to limited function and efficiency. First, most respondents who took part in the management of academic credit bank system in the Korea Educational Development Institute stated that the current system is of limitation. Out of the all items, one was indicated as one not directly related the majoring area for the degree, three items were indicated as approved in the bachelor degree and two items were as approved in the associate degree. Second, occupational area for approving qualification items should be classified according to the KRIVET classification structure for national qualification.

So this study performs depth interview with 10 experts and investigates delphi research with 30 experts who are specialists in digital convergence area. Following the depth interview, there are three categories in the convergence contents - technical area, human resource area, and political area. The result shows that there is discordance between importance and present status each area. This finding suggests that there is political delay in the convergence media industry. In conclusion, it is necessary to look over the current limits and inspect defects. This study implicates further directions of national contents industry.

  • The Korean ministry of education has adopted an educational policy about digital textbooks at K-12 schools since 2018, in order to provide students with individualized learning contents and activities. However, digital textbooks has been yet prepared and delivered for the students with disabilities in the inclusive education. This study aims to develop the guidelines on digital textbooks for students with disabilities applying universal design for learning, recognizing the requirements for the digital textbooks which can be utilized in the K-12 inclusive classrooms for diverse students. In this respect, guidelines on digital textbooks were developed based on previous studies and cases. The first draft of guidelines were reviewed with two rounds of the delphi methods with special teachers. In addition, scenarios were developed, representing the rich educational contexts with digital textbooks applying the guidelines in a practical way for students with 4 types of disabilities. This study can contribute to establishing educational policies and environments related to the digital textbook development and dissemination for students with disabilities.
