Comparative Usefulness of Naver and Google Search Information in Predictive Models for Youth Unemployment Rate in Korea (한국 청년실업률 예측 모형에서 네이버와 구글 검색 정보의 유용성 분석)

  • Recently, web search query information has been applied in advanced predictive model research. Google dominates the global web search market in the Korean market; however, Naver possesses a dominant market share. Based on this characteristic, this study intends to compare the utility of the Korean web search query information of Google and Naver using predictive models. Therefore, this study develops three time-series predictive models to estimate the youth unemployment rate in Korea using the ARIMA model. Model 1 only used the youth unemployment rate in Korea, whereas Models 2 and 3 added the Korean web search query information of Naver and Google, respectively, to Model 1. Compared to the predictability of the models during the training period, Models 2 and 3 showed better fit compared with Model 1. Models 2 and 3 correlated different query information. During predictive periods 1 (continuous with the training period) and 2 (discontinuous with the training period), Model 3 showed the best performance. During predictive period 2, only Model 3 exhibited a significant prediction result. This comparative study contributes to a general understanding of the usefulness of Korean web query information using the Naver and Google search engines.

  • The latest active studies on distributed OLAP to adopt a distributed environment are mainly focused on DHT P2P OLAP and Grid OLAP. However, these approaches have its weak points, the P2P OLAP has limitations to multidimensional range queries in the cloud computing environment due to the nature of structured P2P. On the other hand, the Grid OLAP has no regard for adjacency and time series. It focused on its own sub set lookup algorithm. To overcome the above limits, this paper proposes an efficient central managed P2P approach for a cloud computing environment. When a multi-level hybrid P2P method is combined with an index load distribution scheme, the performance of a multi-dimensional range query is enhanced. The proposed scheme makes the OLAP query results of a user to be able to reused by other users' volatile cube search. For this purpose, this paper examines the combination of an aggregation cube hierarchy tree, a quad-tree, and an interval-tree as an efficient index structure. As a result, the proposed cloud P2P OLAP scheme can manage the adjacency and time series factor of an OLAP query. The performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed by a series of experiments to identify its various characteristics.

A Study on the Design of Functional Clothing for Vital sign Monitoring -Based on ECG Sensing Clothing- (생체신호 측정을 위한 기능성 의류의 디자인 연구 -심전도 센싱 의류를 중심으로-)

  • Recently, Study of functional clothing for Vital sensing is focused on reducing artifact by human motions, in order to enhance the electrocardiogram(ECG) sensing accuracy. In this study, considering the factors for each element found from the analysis, a 3-lead electrode inside textile embroidered with silver yarn was developed, and draft designs off our types of vital-signal sensing garments, which are 'chest-belt typed' garment, 'cross-typed' garment 'x-typed' garment and 'curved x-typed' garment, were prepared. The draft designs were implemented on a sleeveless male shirt made of an elastic material so that the garment and the electrodes can remain closely attached along the contour of the human body, and the acquired data was sent to the main computer over a wireless network. In order to evaluate the effects caused by body movements and the ECG-sensing capability for each type in static and dynamic states, displacements were measured from one and two dimensional perspectives. ECG measurement evaluation was also performed for Signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) analysis. Applying the experimental results, the draft garment designs were modified and complemented to produce two types of modular approaches 'continuous-attached' and 'insertion-detached' for the ECG-sensing smart clothing.

  • Home service robot are not working in the fixed task such as industrial robot, because they are together with human in the same indoor space, but have to do in much more flexible and various environments. Most of them are developed on the base of the wheel-base mobile robot in the same method as a vehicle robot for factory automation. In these days, for holonomic system characteristics, omni-directional wheels are used in the mobile robot. A holonomicrobot, using omni-directional wheels, is capable of driving in any direction. But trajectory control for omni-directional mobile robot is not easy. Especially, azimuth control which sensor uncertainty problem is included is much more difficult. This paper develops trajectory controller of 3-wheels omni-directional mobile robot using fuzzy azimuth estimator. A trajectory controller for an omni-directional mobile robot, which each motor is controlled by an individual PID law to follow the speed command from inverse kinematics, needs a precise sensing data of its azimuth and exact estimation of reference azimuth value. It has imprecision and uncertainty inherent to perception sensors for azimuth. In this paper, they are solved by using fuzzy logic inference which can be used straightforward to perform the control of the mobile robot by means of the fuzzy behavior-based scheme already existent in literature. Finally, the good performance of the developed mobile robot is confirmed through live tests of path control task.

A Study on Design Automation of Cooling Channels in Hot Form Press Die Based on CATIA CAD System (CATIA CAD 시스템 기반 핫폼금형의 냉각수로 설계 자동화에 관한 연구)

  • This paper focuses on the development of a support system that can rapidly generate the design data of a hot-form die with cooling channels, commonly known as hot stamping technology. We propose a new process for designing hot-form dies based on our (automated) system, whose main features are derived from the analysis of the design requirements and design process in the current industry. Our design support system consists of two modules, which allow for the generation of a 3D geometry model and its 2D drawings. The module for 3D modeling automation is implemented as a type of CATIA template model based on CATIA V5 Knowledgeware. This module automatically creates a 3D model of a hot-form die, including the cooling channels, that depends on the shape of the forming surface and the number of STEELs (subsets of die product) and cooling channels. It also allows for both the editing of the positions and orientations of the cooling channels and testing for the purpose of satisfying the constraints on the distance between the forming surface and cooling channels. Another module for the auto-generation of the 2D drawings is being developed as a plug-in using CAA (CATIA SDK) and Visual C++. Our system was evaluated using the S/W test based on a user defined scenario. As a result, it was shown that it can generate a 3D model of a hot form die and its 2D drawings with hole tables about 29 times faster than the conventional manual method without any design errors.

  • 최근의 네트워크는 유선에서 무선으로 발전하고 있다. 무선 네트워크 기술은 여러 가지가 있다. 그 중 좁은 영역에서 사용하고 개인적인 용도로 알맞은 것이 블루투스(Bluetooth)이다. 블루투스 기술 표준은 데이터를 전송하는 단순한 통신 방법만을 정의한 것이 아니라, 몇 가지 응용에 대한 표준도 정의되어 있다. 이 응용은 모든 블루투스 기기가 전부 구현해야 하는 것이 아니라, 그 중 기기에 알맞은 것만을 선택해서 구현을 할 수 있도록 되어 있다. 그렇다면 블루투스 기기에서 다른 기기가 제공하는 서비스가 무엇인지를 알아낼 수 있는 방법이 필요하게 된다. 다른 기기의 서비스를 알아내는데 사용되는 블루투스 기술이 SDP 계층 (Service Discovery Protocol Layer) 이다. SDP 계층은 프로토콜만으로 작동 가능한 것이 아니라, 블루투스 기기에서 제공 가능한 서비스와 서비스 속성을 정의한 내부 데이터베이스를 참조해서 작동하게 된다. 이 내부 데이터베이스는 블루투스를 구현하는 사람마다 모두 다르게 구현하고 있다. 그래서 블루투스 서비스와 서비스 속성에 관한 정보는 글과 간단한 도표로만 정의되고 있는 상황이다. 블루투스 서비스와 서비스 속성 정보를 글과 도표가 아닌 XML을 이용한 문서로 표현을 하는 방법이 나타났었다. 그러나 블루투스 기기에서 직접 서비스와 서비스 속성을 기술한 XML 문서를 바탕으로 SDP를 작동시키는 것은 블루투스 기기에 XML 파서를 포함시켜야 한다는 것을 말한다. 대체로 작은 CPU 성능과 적은 메모리를 가지고 있는 블루투스 기기에서는 XML 파서를 포함하는 근 부담이 된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 보편적으로 사용될 수 있는 블루투스 서비스와 서비스 속성을 기술한 XML 문서에서 블루투스 기기에 적합한 내부 정보를 생성하는 생성기를 설계하고 구현을 하였다.보다는 현저히 낮았다. 총 휘발성 유기화합물읜 농도는 실내가 실외 보다 높았다(I/O ratio 2.5). BTEX의 상대적 함량도 실내가 실외보다 높아 실내에도 발생원이 있음을 암시하고 있다. 자료 분석결과 유치원 실내의 벤젠은 실외로부터 유입되고 있었고, 톨루엔, 에틸벤젠, 크실렌은 실외뿐 아니라 실내에서도 발생하고 있었다. 정량한 8개 화합물 각각과 총 휘발성 유기화합물의 스피어만 상관계수는 벤젠을 제외하고는 모두 유의하였다. 이중 톨루엔과 크실렌은 총 휘발성 유기화합물과 좋은 상관성 (톨루엔 0.76, 크실렌, 0.87)을 나타내었다. 이 연구는 톨루엔과 크실렌이 총 휘발성 유기화합물의 좋은 지표를 사용될 있고, 톨루엔, 에틸벤젠, 크실렌 등 많은 휘발성 유기화합물의 발생원은 실외뿐 아니라 실내에도 있음을 나타내고 있다.>10)의 $[^{18}F]F_2$를 얻었다. 결론: $^{18}O(p,n)^{18}F$ 핵반응을 이용하여 친전자성 방사성동위원소 $[^{18}F]F_2$를 생산하였다. 표적 챔버는 알루미늄으로 제작하였으며 본 연구에서 연구된 $[^{18}F]F_2$가스는 친핵성 치환반응으로 방사성동위원소를 도입하기 어려운 다양한 방사성의 약품개발에 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것이다.었으나 움직임 보정 후 영상을 이용하여 비교한 경우, 결합능 변화가 선조체 영역에서 국한되어 나타나며 그 유의성이 움직임 보정 전에 비하여 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 결론: 뇌활성화 과제 수행시에 동반되는 피험자의 머리 움직임에 의하여 도파민 유리가 과대평가되었으며 이는 이 연구에서 제안한 영상정합을 이용한 움직임 보정기법에 의해서 개선되었다. 답이 없는 문제, 문제 만들기, 일반화가 가능한 문제 등으로 보고, 수학적 창의성 중 특히 확산적 사

Review of Spent Nuclear Fuel Dry Storage Demonstration Programs in US (미국의 사용후핵연료 건식저장 실증연구의 과거와 현재)

  • Demonstration programs for spent nuclear fuel dry storage have been carried out to produce important and confirmatory data to support safety of dry storage systems and integrity of spent nuclear fuel stored in dry condition. The US initiated the dry storage of spent nuclear fuel and has strict and explicit regulatory stipulations on the integrity of spent nuclear fuel in dry storage. The US has carried out several notable demonstration programs for the initiation and license extension of dry storage. At the very early stage of dry storage, the demonstration programs were focused on proof of the safety of dry storage systems and a demonstration project called the dry cask storage characterization project was performed for the license extension of low burn-up fuel dry storage. Currently, a demonstration program for the license extension of high burn-up fuel dry storage is under way and is expected to continue for at least 10 years. Korea has not yet begun the dry storage of PWR fuel and the US programs can be a good reference and can provide lessons to safely begin and operate dry storage in Korea. In this paper, past and current demonstration programs of the US are analyzed and several recommendations are provided for demonstration programs for the dry storage of spent nuclear fuel in Korea.

A Study on the Ship's Heading Stabilization of GPS Compass Using Electromagnetic Compass (전자자기 컴퍼스를 이용한 GPS 컴퍼스의 선수방위 안정화에 관한 연구)

  • The study was results obtained from the trial make of the hybrid GPS-electromagnetic(EM) compass which overcome shortcoming of GPS compass and EM compass. The results were summarized as follows: GPS compass detected the stable ship's heading at 0.1^{\circ}$ intervals with the turning angular velocity of less than 25^{\circ}$/sec in the experiment for the characteristics of turning angular velocity with stepmotor, but in case of over 25^{\circ}$/sec the compass did not detect it. On the contrary, the EM compass always indicated the ship's heading with no connection of the turning angular velocity, however the compass is low accuracy compared with GPS one owing to a compass error. The ship's headings by the hybrid GPS-EM compass were displayed at fixed point and moving by car; if the GPS compass work the headings were displayed by GPS compass, if not, the heading is provided stably by adding or subtracting of a compass error to the heading of EM compass. Also, each ship's heading was derived from not only the GPS compass but also the EM one by add or subtract of the compass errors, and then was worked covariance for the analogy. The results show that the ship's heading of two compasses has been verified the similarity to 95% confidence level.

Implementation of a Sensor Node with Convolutional Channel Coding Capability (컨벌루션 채널코딩 기능의 센서노드 구현)

  • Sensor nodes are used for monitoring and collecting the environmental data via wireless sensor network. The wireless sensor network with various sensor nodes draws attention as a key technology in ubiquitous computing. Sensor nodes has very small memory capacity and limited power resource. Thus, it is essential to have energy efficient strategy for the sensor nodes. Since the sensor nodes are operating on the same frequency bands with ISM frequency bands, the interference by the devices operating on the ISM band degrades the quality of communication integrity. In this paper, the convolutional code is proposed instead of ARQ for the error control for the sensor network. The proposed convolutional code was implemented and the BER performance is measured. For the fixed transmitting powers of -19.2 dBm and -25dBm, the BER with various communication distances are measured. The packet loss rate and the retransmission rate are calculated from the measured BER. It is shown that the porposed method obtained about 9~12% and 12-19% reduction in retransmission rate for -19.2 dBm and -25 dBm respectively.

Noise Control Boundary Image Matching Using Time-Series Moving Average Transform (시계열 이동평균 변환을 이용한 노이즈 제어 윤곽선 이미지 매칭)

  • To achieve the noise reduction effect in boundary image matching, we use the moving average transform of time-series matching. Our motivation is based on an intuition that using the moving average transform we may exploit the noise reduction effect in boundary image matching as in time-series matching. To confirm this simple intuition, we first propose $\kappa$-order image matching, which applies the moving average transform to boundary image matching. A boundary image can be represented as a sequence in the time-series domain, and our $\kappa$-order image matching identifies similar images in this time-series domain by comparing the $\kappa$-moving average transformed sequences. Next, we propose an index-based matching method that efficiently performs $\kappa$-order image matching on a large volume of image databases, and formally prove the correctness of the index-based method. Moreover, we formally analyze the relationship between an order $\kappa$ and its matching result, and present a systematic way of controlling the noise reduction effect by changing the order $\kappa$. Experimental results show that our $\kappa$-order image matching exploits the noise reduction effect, and our index-based matching method outperforms the sequential scan by one or two orders of magnitude.
