  • The program for low-achievers, named 'Running high' is to provide college students whose GPA was lower than 2.5 with 1:1 learning consultation and special lectures of high achievers. Especially, it supports scholarship only for students who attain the target record of a certain course which they choose. The purpose of this study was to examine whether or not academic achievement, grit, ego-resilience of participants in 'Running high' would be more advanced than before. This study also compared academic achievement, grit, ego-resilience between participants who attain the goal of the program and participants who can not attain it. 110 college students joining in 'Running high' responded pre and post surveys of grit and ego-resilience. Their data of academic achievement also were gathered. The result of this study showed that the academic achievement and grit of participants in 'Running high' were advanced more than before, but not ego-resilience. The differences of academic achievement and grit between participants who attained the goal of the program and participants who could not attain it were significant, but not ego-resilience.

  • The aim of this study was to validate the influence from academic stress caused by the achievement pressure of their parents and the adjustment effect of self-differentiation. The data was collected from 257 students from the 19th of May, 2014 to the 30th of May, 2014 for freshmen and sophomores of a college in the Kyoungbook region to validate the study. The SPSS/PC 18.0 program was used for the statistical analysis. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed more less influence of academic stress caused by the achievement pressure((${\beta}=.111$, p<0.05) of their parents but there was no reasonable value in validating the adjustment effect to reduce the academic stress by self-differentiation, i.e., it should be a non-linear and complex effect rather than a simple linear relationship for self-differentiation.

  • This study aims to provide basic data to increase the happiness of college students by verifying whether a growth mindset moderates the mediating effect of teachers' autonomy support for students in the relationship between academic achievement and happiness. The survey subjects were intentionally sampled from 396 engineering students attending a university in Guangzhou who performed a business practice project. The questionnaire method was used to collect data, and the collected data was analyzed using SPSS PC+ Win. 27.0 and PROCESS macro 4.2. The applied statistical techniques were frequency, reliability, correlation, and moderated mediation effect analysis. The research results are as follows. First, there was a significant positive correlation between academic achievement, teachers' autonomy support, growth mindset, and happiness. Second, a growth mindset played a role in increasing the impact of academic achievement on happiness through teachers' autonomy support. Therefore, it was confirmed that a growth mindset increases the mediating effect of teachers' autonomy support in the relationship between academic achievement and happiness. Based on the research results, measures to improve the happiness of college students were suggested.

  • Universities in Korea are presenting various extracurricular activities for survival and growth. Although the goals of extracurricular activities are diverse, one of the most important is to improve the academic achievement of college students. In this study, we looked at the relationship between the cumulative score of extracurricular activities by difficulty level and academic achievement. As a result, first, even if students' basic academic skills were controlled, extracurricular activities had a positive effect on student achievement. This suggests that universities should provide extracurricular activities that are more diverse and tailored to the needs of students. Second, the participation rate of female students in extracurricular activities is similar to that of male students, but the performance is very high. Third, Senior students show high levels of participation and performance. This means that it is necessary to actively increase the participation rate of female students and lower grade students. To this end, not only publicity and compensation, but also active interest and participation of instructors will be required.

  • This study was a one-group pretest-posttest design experimental study that attempted to verify the effects of applying the Havruta learning method on the academic self-efficacy, academic achievement, and communication skills of radiology college students. This study was conducted from May 1 to June 23, 2023, and applied the Havruta learning method for 6 weeks to 38 second-year radiologists taking a radiology technology course at a university in Jeollanam-do. SPSS/WIN 21.0 was used for data analysis, the reliability of the scale was verified, the subject's general characteristics, pre-test values and post-test values for measurement variables were verified with descriptive statistics, and the difference between before and after the Havruta learning method was verified with paired t-test. Research results show that the Havruta learning method improves academic self-efficacy (t=-2.70, p<.001), academic achievement (t=-2.87, p=.006), and communication skills (t=-2.76, p=.008). showed a statistically significant difference. As a result, Havruta learning method was confirmed as an effective learning method that improves academic self-efficacy, academic achievement, and communication skills of radiology college students. In the future, expanded application of the Havruta learning method will be necessary.
