An American presidential library is a monument-but also a history museum and an archive. These libraries are their unique commemorating way for American ex-presidents. These reflect and explain their presidency with their own point of views through museum exhibitions. However, the history presented in the museums of presidential libraries often lacks balance and critical perspective, and offer public access selectively. The presidential libraries, nothing but American business, made from American heroism and self-confidence tradition. • Records, especially the authentic records the nation secured, have an ontological feature of proof that is able to persuade the current present of the past present, and inherent in it is faith that originates from fundamental objectivity. Therefore the image of silence that such strictness of records creates realizes the detonation of specific memories through the act of visual exhibition. This research started from the notion that records achieve social vitality and return through its exhibition, as well as the critical awareness that it 're-mediate' the past and memory through interactions with image. The reason for viewing the archival exhibition as the subject of user analyzation is that in the process where exhibition sorts and arranges records, it is the tool and mediation that most distinctly exposes the identity of the archives. Hence, this research first analyzes national archives, particularly the exhibition of "presidential" records, which is in the center of memory conflict, in the viewpoint of the cultural practice of memory. Afterwards, it discusses empirical research and results on how users accept and resist the meaning of the exhibition through actual surveys of users after their viewing of an exhibition.

  • The space designated for kindergarten and elementary school students, who accounted for half of all users of the presidential archives, is now lacking, with the archives' programs focusing on exhibitions and field trips. With this, an experience exhibition is seen as the most effective way to communicate the value of presidential records and archives based on the theory of cognitive development. Therefore, this study proposes an experiential exhibition program for children about presidential archives based on the experience economy under theories that are recently getting attention. The Presidential Archives through the Experiential Exhibition program for children proposed by this study will become a place for the cultural communication of all generations.

  • The museum, run by the archives, should show historical facts about the president through objective records that are not fully evaluated. The wartime atmosphere should maintain solemnity to highlight the evidential value of records about history, but include an interesting element that allows visitors to come comfortably. It would be possible to accommodate 360 viewers at the same time, and it would be an option to limit the number of visitors considering the operation of weekend events and the donor honor hall. In this study, we established and presented an image integration plan centered on the color plan and the signature plan. Although the real image integration plan is a case study that starts with symbols and logos and is conducted through an integrated and systematic system through the basic design and application design system, it is considered to be a meaningful study in terms of practical use.
