The Hybrid Organization's Response to Conflicting Institutional Demands: A Case Study about Social Ventures (하이브리드 조직의 모순 대응 전략 변화: 소셜벤처 노을과 에누마 사례를 중심으로)

  • Nowadays companies are required to achieve social goals beyond maximizing shareholder profits. Accordingly, it is important to pursue both the economic and social goals of a company at the same time. Thus the importance of hybrid organizations is increasing theoretically and practically. In particular, since hybrid organizations essentially have the complexity of pursuing both economic and social purposes, the institutional demands of various stakeholders surrounding hybrid organizations are also conflicting. Several previous studies have considered how hybrid organizations respond to these conflicting institutional demands, but most studies are limited to studying at a specific point in time. As a result, there was a limit to analyzing the dynamics in response to conflicting institutional demands as the hybrid organization expanded its business. This study predicted that the hybrid organization would take selective coupling with conflicting institutional demands and that the process of responding to institutional demands would change according to the organization's growth. In this study, we had a case study about Noul and Enuma, social ventures that operate relatively advanced business models with outstanding results in innovation and technology. As a result, social ventures show a selective coupling for conflicting institutional demands, and the selective coupling process changes as their business model are advanced. Specifically, in the early stages of the business, it appears to respond to economic and social demands at the same time with a single business model. When the business is advanced, two or more business models are operated, some of which respond to economic needs and some of which respond to social needs. In the early stages of business, social ventures respond to economic and social demands with a single business model to gain legitimacy and survive in the institutional demands. But when they enter the business growth period, they try to separate business models which respond to economic and social values because they pursue sustainable growth and challenge large-scale missions. Overall, this study attempted to contribute to an in-depth understanding of hybrid organizations by identifying that the method of responding to conflicting institutional demands varies depending on the growth process of social ventures.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of laws, systems, surveillance systems, and response management systems on organizational citizenship behavior and the moderating effect of organizational trust from the viewpoint of infectious disease prevention management for public hospitals. As a result of the analysis, the relationship between the monitoring system and the emergency response system showed a stronger relationship in the prevention management of infectious diseases. Therefore, it is expected that the effective management of the organization will be carried out in the field based on the theoretical foundation that the importance of the organization trust is paid attention and the firm the theoretical foundation in the future.

  • Compression wood and opposite wood formed in a branch of Taxodium distichum Rich. is described and compared in qualitative and quantitative anatomical aspects. The qualitative features of compression wood appeared to differ from those of opposite wood in very gradual tracheid transition from earlywood to latewood, roundish tracheid shape on cross surface, tracheid tip distortion on radial surface, and existence of intercellular spaces and helical cavities. In quantitative features, compression wood tracheids showed shorter lengths than opposite wood. The ray density and the number of uniseriate rays were greater in compression wood than in opposite wood but the height of uniseriate rays in compression wood was smaller than in opposite wood.

  • 본 연구는 기업과 그 기업이 속한 사회에서 사업을 영위하면서 자연재해의 발생이나 COVID-19와 같은 감염병의 유행으로 조직의 업무 중단이 발생하고 난 뒤 다시 사업을 재개하는 데에는 회복탄력성이 중요하다. 기업의 회복탄력성은 기업을 경영하는데 필요한 수많은 요소와 관련이 있다. 또한 기업과 연결된 많은 네트워크와 인프라에 의존하고 있다. 회복탄력성은 재난을 당한 뒤에 다시 사업을 영위하는 능력이라 할 수 있다. 재난에 대응하는 저항의 능력 보다는 기업의 핵심 기능이 단기간에 연속성을 확보하는데 그 의의가 있다고 하겠다. 이를 위하여 기업의 재난에 대한 '예방 활동', '대비 활동', '대응 활동'을 필수 요소로 삼고 있다. 그 외에 회복탄력성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 연구하기 위하여, 여유 자원, 협력관계, 전략적 유연성, 혁신성, 기술 변화 대응력이 조직역량에 미치는 영향력을 파악하고, 조직역량이 기업의 회복탄력성에 기여하는 정도를 파악하고자 하였다. (권재득, 2018). 회복탄력성의 미치는 추가요인인 외적 효과 분석에 대한 연구를 제안한다.

A Study on the Effects of Disaster Response Exercise on Exercise Participants (Focused on Manufacturing Company Exercise Cases) (재난대응훈련이 훈련참가자에게 미치는 효과에 관한 연구(제조기업의 훈련사례 중심으로))

  • In the event of a disaster (or accident), first of all, the ability to respond to an immediate disaster is important. This study investigated the disaster response capacity and the effects of disaster response exercise personnel. A questionnaire consisting of 28 items was used to assess disaster response capabilities. The questionnaire consists of contrast, preparedness initial response, warning, and response steps. Survey participants are self-service fire-fighters of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies participating in exercise. The effectiveness of the exercise. was measured by dividing the subjects before and after the exercise. Analyzing the difference between before and after exercise, it was confirmed that disaster response exercise. had significant effects on improving disaster response capacity. This study suggests that the disaster response exercise. has the effect on the disaster response capacity of the members and the necessity of disaster response exercise. As in the case study, if a company or organization regularly conducts disaster response exercise., its disaster response capabilities will improve. In addition, it is anticipated that in the event of a disaster (or accident), it will be possible to prevent or reduce property damage as well as property damage.

  • This study is to present effective and rational strategies by comparing and analyzing plans of some nations such as the United States, Britain, Germany and Japan against terrorism. Nations mentioned above have made alliance to prevent the possible terrorism after 9.11 attack and performed various tasks efficiently. The result of this study is summarized as follows. First, it is required that there should be an integrated system which works properly. Each nation has not distinguished natural disaster from man-made one based on the damage and the abilities of authorities to deal with. On the other hand, South Korea tells two disasters according to causes and runs distributed systems in which each government division performs its duties to manage each disaster. Accordingly, in economic terms, it is much more effective to provide integrated counter terrorism, not distributed one. Second, information sharing must be stimulated. To take actions quickly when an accident occurs, the government needs to have united and integrative systems, which make it prepare for various types of terrorism well. In addition, it is necessary for a government-related organization to tie up with other channels for collecting, analyzing and sharing information. For this, integrative systems for terrorism should be taken into consideration.

A Study on the Change of Security Level of Military Organizations Applying Grounded Theory (근거이론을 적용한 군 조직의 보안수준 변화요인 연구)

  • This study which was started to identify the factors that change the security level of military organizations, analyzed the data collected from articles written by the active officers in the Defense Daily Journal hoping to improve the military security level by the qualitative research method called Grounded Theory, and establish causal relationship how organizational members respond to insider security threats. As a result of the analysis, the causal condition is 'the security threat of the insider', the contextual condition is 'the specificity of the military organization', the central phenomenon is 'the conflict of values as a soldier', the arbitrary condition is 'the security consciousness', Strategy is 'the responds to security threats', and the result was 'security level change'. The core categories can be presented as 'the degree of conflict of values on insider security threats' and two hypotheses have been derived. First, the members of the military organization strongly felt the conflict of values about security threat as the tendency to emphasize security was strong, and they helped to develop the security level of organization by responding strongly. Second, the stronger the tendency to focus on colleagues, respond weakly to security threats. And it undermines the security level of the organization. Finally, in order to improve the security level of the organization, it is necessary to establish a solid security consciousness and to make institutional development to support it.

  • This research was conducted through demonstrating method about how high cooperation level between crisis management systems against terror in korea is now, based on both interaction level relating to cooperation relation among organization relationship theory. Through the results of analysis, People in charge against terror were widely recognizing about the need of cooperation between crisis management systems to treat terror effectively. For organic cooperation between organizations, it was suggested the politic implication that it is the most important task to build the sense of values, the behavior about cooperations in the internal phase of crisis management system.
