An Economic Value for Construction of Ecological Stream in Hong Cheon Area, Korea (홍천강 생태하천 복원사업의 경제적 가치)

  • The goal of this study is to estimate economic benefit of restoring ecological stream of Hong Cheon river. The benefit is determined by estimating willingness-to-pay for the value of Hong Cheon river because it is a non-market good which is difficult to be measured in terms of monetary value. Specifically, the spike model, one of the contingent valuation methods, is used to distinguish respondents having zero willingness-to-pay for Hong Cheon river. The results show that a household located near the Hong Cheon river is willing to pay 3,300~4,628 Korean Won per year, while a household not located near the Hong Cheon river is willing to pay 1,308~2,929 Korean Won per year. Thus, total benefit of restoring ecological stream of Hong Cheon river is estimated as 97.6~216.3 billion Korean Won.

Studies on Korean Takju using the By-Product of Rice Milling (벼 도정 부산물을 이용한 탁주 제조에 관한 연구)

  • The quality characteristics of traditional Korean Takju fermented with discolored, broken, and milled rice were evaluated. Initial pH of medium and culure temperature for the alcohol fermentation were 4.2 and 26$^{\circ}C$, respectively. After 5 days of cultivation, final pH and temperature were 4.0 and 23.5$^{\circ}C$. The alcohol contents in fermentation of discolored and broken rice was about 18.0% and that of milled rice was 18.7%. The content of succinic acid was highest in organic acid components of products fermented three materials respectively. The major volatiles were 3-methyl-1-butanol, 2-methyl-1-propanol, n-propanol and ethyl acetate. In free amino acid composition of mashes, alanine retained more than 1000 mg%. Free sugars contained in mashes such as glucose, fructose, sucrose, maltose were also analysed by HPLC. Results of sensory evaluation in taste, aroma, color were showed good score above 4.3.

Optimized Web Design Method by Analyzing the Websites (웹사이트 분석을 통한 최적화 설계 방안)

  • As the Internet usage such as Web3.0, future internet, and internet of things increases, the big data through information exchange between the users and web servers increases. Analyzing those web data, the commercial web sites use the analytic results for marketing and campaign, and non-commercial web sites also use the results to improve the user's services satisfaction. In this paper, the quantitative index is presented to analyze the web sites, and optimized web site design method is also presented through the correlation analysis of index and significance test. From the results for 138 web sites, it is observed that strong plus(+) correlation for visits-unique visitors and page views-average visit duration exists. We also observe the minus(-) correlation between bounce rate and page views per user(or ratio of new visits). In specific, to reduce the bounce rate for users, the strategy to increase the page views and ratio of new visits rather than visits and unique visitors is needed.

Measurement for Determining the Biodegradation of Starch-Filled Polyethylene Film by $\alpha$-Amylase (전분 충전 폴리에틸렌 필름의 아밀레이스 반응에 의한 생분해도 측정)

  • Optimal reaction condition for the starch hydrolysis by ${\alpha}$-amylase was determined and the sugar produced under the optimal condition was measured for estimating the biodegradation of strach-filled polyethylene film. Optimal ranges of temperature and pH were 70~$80^{\circ}C$ and 6.3~7.3, respectively. The 100 units of ${\alpha}$-amylase per mg starch were enough for the enzyme reaction. Reaction with polyethylene film containing 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% starch in the above condition showed that the sugar produced was proportional to the starch content in film. This relationship provides a calibration curve for determining the starch content of search-filled polyethylene film. The average amount of hydrolyzed starch was about 40% of total starch in film. The rest of the starch is considered to be still dispersed in the film and not to be attacked by ${\alpha}$-amylase. In this experiment, we could obtain the higher biodegradability through the $\alpha$-amylase reaction in the above optimal condition than the reported one which had been Improved by adding surfactant.

The Production of Sodium Gluconate by Aspergillus niger (Aspergillus niger를 이용한 글루콘산 나트륨의 생산)

  • Sodium gluconate was produced by neutralization of gluconic acid formed during the submerged culture fermentation of glucose with Aspergillus niger ACM 7. The fermentation characteristics of Aspergillus niger ACM 7 were investigated quantitatively according to the change of the initial glucose concentrations and the initial pHs of fermentation broth. The maximum specific growth rate was estimated to be $0.20hr^{-1}$ at 95g/$\ell$ of initial glucose concentration. The maximum fermentability of sodium gluconate was 95% at the initial glucose concentration of 26g/$\ell$. However, the maximum sodium gluconate productivity was 1.18g/$\ell$/hr when the initial glucose concentration was 110g/$\ell$. The optimum pH was found to be 5.5 for both the cell growth and the sodium gluconate production. With optimized culture conditions, the productivity of sodium gluconate in a fed-batch culture(production fermentor, 16,000$\ell$) increased up to 7.1g/$\ell$/hr.

Chemical Composition in Relation to Quality Evaluation of Korean Honey (한국산꿀의 품질특성)

  • Quality of five kinds of honey were evaluated. Honey had total soluble sugar above 96% on the dry weight and a little amount of protein. The mineral composition varied with the kinds of honey, but all tested honey showed the highest content of K and Na, and a considerable amount of Fe, Mg, Ca, Zn, and P. Free sugars were mainly composed of fructose and glucose. The fructose/glucose ratio of honey was 1.0-1.39. Buckwheat honey showed comparatively higher content of sucrose and maltose. All tested honey were analyzed to give pH 3.23-4.32, total acid 10.5-23.9 meq/kg, hydroxymethylfurfural 0.58-21.31 mg/kg, diastatic activity 13.95-36.59.

Quality Characteristics of Lotus Leaf Dasik Prpared with Various Sweeteners (당의 종류를 달리한 연잎 다식의 품질 특성)

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality characteristics of lotus leaf Dasik prepared with various sweeteners, including honey (HON), starch syrup (SS), isomaltooligosaccharide(IMOS), galactooligosaccharide (GOS), and fructooligosaccharide (FOS). The moisture contents of samples were highest in GOS. L-values were significantly higher in the HON group. Whereas a- and b-values were not significantly different among the groups. According to the results for mechanical characteristics, hardness was significantly lower in HON while cohesiveness, gumminess, and chewiness were highest in SS; however, adhesiveness and springiness were not significantly different among the groups. The sensory evaluation results showed that the lotus leaf Dasik containing FOS received the highest preference scores.

  • Several techniques, including transmission X-ray photography and AC-impedance spectroscopy, are available for evaluating the fiber dispersion in a fiber reinforced concrete Evaluating the fiber dispersion in fiber reinfored concrete needs since the fibers bridge crackseffectively. However, these equipment is very expensive. Therefore this paper presents the quantitative evaluation method based on the image analysis of sectional image taken using an ordinary digital camera. After detecting the fiber accurately, the fiber dispersion characteristics are represented by the coefficient such as the fiber dispersion coefficient, the number of fibers in unit area, and the distribution of the fiber orientation. Test were performed to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed method and the dispersion characteristics of fibers according placing method and flow direction. Additionally, the effect of fiber dispersion characteristics on mechanical properties was investigated. Test results shows that fiber aligned along the flow direction and more fibers placed and dispersion was better on the section parallel to the flow direction. And about 50% difference in the flexural tensile strength according to the placing method occured.

  • 도시유역에서 주로 침수피해가 발생하는 방류토구 인근의 저지대의 경우 유수지 및 빗물펌프장을 통하여 피해 발생을 방지할 수 있는 반면, 도심지 한복판에 이러한 상습 침수지역이 존재한다면 이에 대한 침수 방지 시설물의 설치에는 한계가 있다. 이러한 도심지 한복판의 침수위험지역의 경우 부지 확보의 어려움으로 인하여 유수지의 설치는 매우 제한적이며, 따라서 근래 대두되고 있는 것이 지하 저류공간의 건설 등이다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 이러한 지하 저류공간의 건설과 더불어 우수관망의 설계 자체를 침수피해 저감 측면에서 그 효과를 최대화하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 동일한 설계빈도하에 설계된 우수관망이라 하더라도 관망의 노선 선정에 따라서 초과강우사상에 따른 침수 발생량이 달라질 수 있다는 점에 주목하였다. 즉, 우수관망의 전체적인 구성에 있어서 설계빈도를 초과하는 강우사상에 대하여 그 부하량을 적정히 분배함으로써 관망의 전체적인 침수 발생 위험을 전반적으로 줄이는 것이다. 이를 통하여 확보되는 안전성은 지하 저류공간 등 각종 침수피해 저감 시설과 더불어 우수관망시스템의 침수피해 발생 위험을 전반적으로 줄일 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 목적하에 도시유역에서의 침수위험도 분석을 실시하였으며, 선행 연구를 통하여 제안된 우수관망의 신뢰도 산정 식을 토대로 목적함수를 아래의 식과 같이 구성하였다. $$Max.\;liability\;of\;Sewer\;Networks=1-\;{(1-N)^2+(1-V_i)^2\atop2}\;\cdots\cdots\cdots\;\;\;(1)$$ 여기서, $V_i$는 적용된 강우량당 유역의 전체 유출량 대비 월류발생량을 나타내며, $N_i$는 적용된 강우량당 해당 관망의 전체 지점 수 대비 월류 발생지점 수를 나타낸다. 이를 통하여 우수관망의 신뢰도를 최대화할 수 있는 최적설계 알고리즘을 개발하였으며, 실제 도시유역에 대한 적용을 통하여 최적 설계에 따른 신뢰도 향상 정도를 정량화하였다.

사파이어 단결정 기판의 EPD 측정 및 신뢰성 연구

  • 사파이어는 우수한 광학적, 물리적, 화학적 특성을 가지고 있는 물질 중의 하나이며, 청색 발광특성을 나타내는 GaN와 격자상수, 열팽창 계수가 가장 유사할 뿐만 아니라 가격도 상대적으로 저렴하여 GaN 성장을 위한 기판으로 사용된다. 실제로 사파이어는 프로젝터와 전자파장치, 군사용 장비 등 다양한 분야에 응용되고 있으며, 발광 다이오드(LED)를 위한 기판으로 활용됨으로써 그 수요가 급격히 증가하고 있다. 그러나 사파이어 결정의 성장 중에 생길 수 있는 전위(dislocation)와 적층결함(stacking fault) 등의 결정 결함들은 결정 내에 존재하여 역학적, 전기적 성질에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 특히 사파이어가 청색 발광소자의 기판으로 사용되는 경우, 사파이어 기판 내부의 결정 결함은 증착되는 박막 특성에 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 사파이어의 보다 나은 응용을 위해서는 결함의 형성 메커니즘과 결정 결함의 평가기술 등에 대한 이해가 필요하고, 특히 결함의 정량적 평가 기술의 개발은 사파이어의 상용화에 중요한 핵심요소 중 하나이다. 결정 내 결함이 위치하는 부분은 분자나 원자간의 결합이 약하거나 높은 에너지 상태이므로, 결정의 표면을 적절한 산이나 염기 등을 이용하여 에칭하면 에칭반응은 결정의 전위 위치에 해당하는 부분부터 일어나 결정의 표면에 에치핏을 형성한다. 따라서 결정 표면에 나타나는 에치핏의 개수를 관찰하면 결정의 전위 밀도 파악이 비교적 간단하고, 에칭반응의 이러한 특징은 전위의 정량적 평가에 이용이 가능하다. 본 연구는 4인치 사파이어 조각기판을 수산화칼륨(KOH)으로 습식에칭 후 표면에 나타나는 에치핏의 형성거동과 이의 시간 및 온도 의존성에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 또한 단결정의 전위밀도를 예측하기 위해 사파이어 조각시편의 단위면적당 에치핏의 개수를 파악하여 에치핏밀도(EPD, etch pid density)를 계산하였고, 값의 불확도(uncertainty)를 계산하여 전위밀도의 신뢰도를 평가하였다. 그 결과, 사파이어 조각시편의 에치핏밀도는 단위면적($cm^2$)당 약 ${\sim}10^2$개로 확인되었고, 이 값은 약 2%의 상대불확도를 가지는 것으로 나타났다.
