  • 대화 시스템에 관한 기존 연구는 대화 현상에 대한 원리를 이해하는데 초점을 맞춘 연구와 매우 제한적인 상황에서 동작하는 실용적인 시스템 구축에 관한 연구로 이루어져 왔다. 전자의 연구를 위해서 계획기반모델(plan-based model)이 제안되었는데, 이는 복잡한 대화 구조를 모델링(modeling)할 수 있으며, 다양한 현상에서의 사용자 목적 추론이 가능하다. 하지만 계획기반모델은 초기 설계가 어려우며 실용적인 대화 시스템 구축에 있어서 시스템 응답을 생성하기 위한 상호작용 모델로의 확장이 매우 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 계획 기반 모델의 단점을 보완하고 실용적인 대화시스템을 구축하기 위하여 시스템 응답을 위한 확인 대화 전략과 담화스택(discourse stack)을 계획기반 대화 모델링에 적용하여 효율적인 응답을 생성할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다.

Focus and Discourse Domain. (초점 현상과 담화 영역)

  • This paper investigates the nature of the discourse domain involved with focus sentences. The major theories of focus including Roothian Alternative Semantics are critically reviewed: Alternative Semantics takes a contradictory attitude toward the truth conditional aspect of free focus. The truth conditional differences are treated as a pragmatic inference, while they are captured by the semantic mechanism, that is, the alternative sets generated by focus constructions. In addition, the alternative sets are ad hoc since they are generated only for focus constructions. This paper attempts to show that the alternative sets introduced by foci in the framework of Alternative Semantics are neither necessary nor sufficient for an analysis of focus. It is argued that the domain sets simply provided by the model itself suffices for a proper analysis of focus constructions.

  • Non-verbal communications are important because they support and replace verbal communication. Body language of various non-verbal communications is the communication using the body. In animation, expression of body language is very important because characters play an important role in communicating the scenario. Animation has a dual communication structure, different from general communication. One is the communication between the speaker character and the hearer character, the other is the image and the audience, which includes the communication between the speaker character and the hearer character. In this study, we divide the body language from the characters into the discourse-in act and discourse-out act according to this dual structure and classify it into adaptors, emblem, illustrator, regulator, affect display by a functional approach method. Especially, the illustrator is subdivided into pragmatic speech act. Finally, this study analyzes the features of body language in animation and represents animation character's body language for an effective expression of the communications in animation.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the structure and content of chemistry teacher's explanations from the perspective of 'persuasion'. Especially, this study was to explore how the argument structure and the conceptual change constructs in chemistry teachers' explanations were established and interacted. Data were collected from chemistryI classes considering the gas unit which includes kinetic theory of gas, Graham's law, Boyle's law, and Charles' law. The classes were vediotaped and transcribed. The transcriptions were analyzed with Toulmin's argument frame and the two constructs of conceptual change model; the conceptual ecology and the status of a conception to interpret the persuasive structure and content of the teacher's explanations. As the results of this study, four explanatory discourses which show various persuasive explanations in chemistry classes. Based on this results, discussion and implications for effective teachers' explanations in chemistry classes were presented.

  • This study focused on the games that were in the spotlight during the One Source Multi-use era, analyzing game based movies and the games. Through this, we wanted to examine the phenomena, changes, and in-depth meanings of the genre and grammar. Using Vogler's "12 Stages of the Hero Journey" and Greimas's "Model actantie" the three works of Need for Speed, Assassin Creed and Warcraft were cross-analyzed. Through this analysis, we looked at the structure of the discourse and identified the significant messages brought by the change in text.

  • Inspired by the socio-cultural perspective on teaching and learning science, we have explored how the teacher and students interact with one another and develop meanings in science classrooms. Data came from four 10th grade science classrooms, and video recordings and verbatim transcripts of the lessons were analyzed. Focus of the analysis was on the participation structures as well as the possibility of developing the space for hybrid meaning making. The participation structures identified were mainly teacher-led, and students rarely took an active stance to initiate an opportunity for generating new meanings. However, some participation structures had the potential to develop a new discursive space in which hybrid meaning can be constructed through negotiation between participants. Implications for future research and more desirable educational practices were discussed based on the result.

구조생성기호학적 관점에서의 디지털게임의 의미생성방식 연구 - 스타크래프트, 리니지, 스페셜포스에 대한 분석을 중심으로 -

  • 게임에서의 텍스트를 추출하고 이를 분석하고자 하였다. 기본적으로 그레마스의 구조생성기호학을 활용하여 텍스트를 분석하고자 하였는데, 연구방법론에서는 현상학, 해석에서는 정신분석학의 이론에서도 도움을 받았다. 구체적인 분석대상으로는 온라인게임인 스타크래프트, 리니지, 스페셜포스를 선택하였다. 연구문제는 이들 세 게임의 의미생성방식에 대한 탐구로 구성되었다. 각 게임의 의미생성방식은 구조생성기호학의 세 가지 층위에서 구분되어 연구되었다. 즉, 심층구조, 기호-설화구조, 담화구조의 세층위로 전환, 발화되면서 점진적으로 의미가 풍성해지는 과정이 탐구되었다. 각 게임의 차이, 나아가 게임 장르간의 차이는 주로 심층 수준의 차이에서 기인한다고 보인다. 이들 게임의 주요 공통점이자, 다른 매체와의 차이점은 행동자 모델에서 두드러지는데, 바로 이용자가 스스로 주체의 위치를 점하게 되는 것이다. 상호작용성으로 대변되는 게임의 특성은 이용자의 텍스트로의 적극적인 개입을 할 수 있게끔 한다. 이러한 적극적인 개입은 이용자가 스스로 텍스트의 주체가 되도록 허용하는데, 주체가 된다고 함은 곧 스스로의 욕망을 직접 대상에 투사하면서 텍스트를 창출함을 의미한다. 바로 이러한 점이 게임의 의미생성방식의 큰 특징이며 다른 매체들과의 주요한 차이점이기도 하다. 더불어 게임이 우리 문화와 사회에 커다란 영향을 미칠 수 있는 기제임이 입증되는 것이기도 하다.

A Study on the Construction of the Automatic Summaries - on the basis of Straight News in the Web - (자동요약시스템 구축에 대한 연구 - 웹 상의 보도기사를 중심으로 -)

  • The writings frame and various rules based on discourse structure and knowledge-based methods were applied to construct the automatic Ext/sums (extracts & summaries) system from the straight news in web. The frame contains the slot and facet represented by the role of paragraphs, sentences , and clauses in news and the rules determining the type of slot. Rearrangement like Unification, separation, and synthesis of the candidate sentences to summary, maintaining the coherence of meanings, was carried out by using the rules derived from similar degree measurement, syntactic information, discourse structure, and knowledge-based methods and the context plots defined with the syntactic/semantic signature of noun and verb and category of verb suffix. The critic sentence were tried to insert into summary.

Historiography of TV Documentary (TV의 젠더 역사쓰기의 가능성과 한계: 역사다큐멘터리를 중심으로)

  • This study analysed the narrative of and , two history documentary broadcasted on KBS, in terms of story-telling and discourse. And it also examined whether TV as mass media could provide an alternative interpretation against the dominant historical awareness. As a result, both programmes showed limitations on representing subversive point of view to the dominant ideology. At the story-telling level, firstly, they represented in a way of male-hero narrative though they were describing the history of woman, and while representing woman as a public figure they eliminated her feminity and individuality. Secondly, before evaluating woman as a historic figure they previously appreciated her appearance in a male-point of view. Thirdly, although they were telling the story of woman in a political view, they focused on love triangle, therefore failed to make her as a public figure. The discourses of both programmes were anchoring the existing historical interpretation instead of offering an alternative historical imagination. The narrator who were telling history at the studio in a omniscient viewpoint took a role as a meaning definer, placed at the highest rank in the hierarchy of discourse structure. Especially in , the dramatized images to cover lack of visual data helped anchor the patriarchal narrative and reduced the possibility of subversive interpretation on historic figure.

  • 언어표현에 대한 해석은 그 구성요소들의 통사적-어휘적 구조에 덧붙여 대명사의 동일지시를 살펴야 할 필요가 있다. 조응의 분석과 조응적 선행사를 찾기 위한 효과적인 방법을 발견하는 것이 컴퓨터 언어학(computational linguistics), 특히 자연언어 이해체계(Natural Language understanding system)에 관한 연구의 중심적인 문제라고 할 수 있다. 이 논문의 목적은 영어 조응표현을 개념구조 이론(Conceptual Structure Theory)의 개념도식(conceptual graph)에 의하여 기술함으로써 단문에서뿐만 아니라 복문, 양화구문, 그리고 담화에 이르기까지 언어 전반에 걸쳐 나타나는 동일지시성(coreferenciality)을 간단하고 일관성 있게 설명하는 것이다. 이러한 조응현상을 설명하기 위하여 필자는 개념도식상의 개념을 중심개념, 직접개념, 간접개념으로 구분하고 이들이 문맥깊이 등과 더불어 동일지시성을 설명하는데 중심적 역할을 함을 보이고자 한다.
