New building methods are needed to aid increased inner-city redevelopment and industrial construction. A particular area of improvement is the efficient use of cut slopes, with the minimization of associated problems. A retaining wall of precast panels can resist the horizontal earth pressure by increasing the shear strength of the ground and reinforcing it through contact with the panels. Precast panels allow quick construction and avoid the problem of concrete deterioration. Other problems to be solved include the digging of borrow pits, the disposal of material cut from the slope, and degradation of the landscape caused by the exposed concrete retaining wall. This study suggest the methods of improvement of an existing precast panel wall system by changing the appearance of the panels to that of natural rock and improving the process of adhering the panel to a vertical slope. The panels were tested in the laboratory and in the field. The laboratory test verified their specific strength and behavior, and the field test assessed the panels' ground adherence at a vertical cutting. Reinforcement of the cutting slope was also measured and compared with the results of 3D numerical analysis. The results of laboratory test, identified that the shear bar increase the punching resistance of panel. And as a results of test construction, identified the construct ability and field applicability of the panel wall system adhered to in-situ ground. In addition to that, extended measurement and numerical analysis, identified the long-term stability of panel wall system adhered to in-situ ground.
A long-term (26 weeks) feeding experiment was conducted to examine the essentiality and requirement of inositol in diets for olive flounder because no information is available in the species. Five casein-gelatin based semi-purified diets were formulated to contain four different levels of myo-inositol (0, 0+antibiotic, 400, 800, and 1600 mg/kg, designated as M0, M0+, M400, M800, and M1600, respectively). One (M0+) of the control diets contained tetracycline hydrochloride (0.4%, wt/wt) as an antibiotic to inhibit biosynthesis of inositol by micro-organism in intestine of fish. Olive flounder at the early juvenile stage (initial body weight 1.22 g) were randomly distributed into fifteen 35 L tanks (48 fish/tank) and fed with one of the experimental diets (3 replicates per diet). At the end of the feeding trial, the weight gain, feed intake, specific growth rate, and protein efficiency ratio of fish fed diets containing higher levels of myo-inositol (M800 & M1600) were significantly higher than those of fish fed the other diets (P<0.05). Feed conversion ratio, survival, hematocrits, and hemoglobin of fish fed experimental diets were not significantly different among all the fish groups. Whole body compositions of fish were not different except for lipid content. The lipid content was significantly different between M0 and M400 diet groups. These results indicate that juvenile olive flounder requires dietary supplementation of myo-inositol in diets for normal growth and its optimum level seems to be approximately 800 mg myo-inositol/kg diet.
The purpose of this study is to show a course development of the marine leisure sport policy in Korea. The preceding researches and the analysis on the actual conditions on marine leisure sport in Korea were conducted for this research. And analyzing the obstacle and development factors in marine leisure sport, the conclusions intended to provide the preliminary data on the marine leisure industry are as follows: First, as policy-based problems, there will be needs for the public perception improvement in the marine culture caused by the lack of publicity, the reflection reinforcement of the national policy on the marine leisure industry, the prevention of the overlapping investment for the national resources development in the marine industry and marine leisure sport complexes, and the reinforcement of the close networks with the developed countries. Second, as human-based problems, there will be needs for the new organization of the specialty agencies involved in the marine leisure industry field, the nurture of the capable specialists and the reinforcement and nurture of TF team for the infrastructure industry. Third, as facility-based problems, there appeared to be the expansion of the SOC related to the marine leisure, the ease of the laws and regulations for the development of the marine leisure facilities, the prevention of the thoughtless development caused by close cooperation system with the local government. Fourth, as law and institution-based problems, there appeared to be the abolishment of the regulation-centered laws involved in them, the prevention of the legal and institutional confusion caused by policy confusion. Fifth, as industry-based problems, there must be the expansion of the domestic supply and demand, the reinforcement of parts industry and the nurture of the license system for the mechanics on the vessels and the engines.
In order to diagnose the water environment and assess the water quality restoration, long term trend of water environment has been surveyed at 3-R stations from 1994 to 1999 in Lake Shihwa. Annual mean values of $COD_{Mn}$, Chlorophyll a, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and Secchi depth are ranged in 5.2-15.1 mg/L, 7.3-14R.1 jlg/L, 1.50-4.84 mgN/L, 0.055-0.281 mgP/L and 0.5 -1.4 m, respectively, during the study periods. Carson's trophic state indeies were varied from mesotrophy in 1994 and 1995, hyper-eutrophy in 1996 and 1997, to meso eutrophy in 199R and 1999. After dike construction, water quality were rapidly deteriorated by allochthonous and autochthonous loading of high nutrients and organic carbon. Eutrophication phenomena were characterized by massive phytoplankton blooms and high concentration of COD. However, after onset of restoration program, lake water quality was rapidly restored to the level of just after sea-dike construction. The diversion of waste water inflowing from the Panwol and the Sihwa industrial districts which was started from March, 1997 has contributed to improve water quality in the surface layer. And the tidal mixing (sea water inflowing) through the continuous gate operation was the most effective measure to the whole lake restoration.ration.
The ores of the Bobae mine are mainly composed of sericite and quartz, and with appreciable amount of some other minerals such as andalusite. pyrophyllite, and albite, etc.. Sericite occurs in various a1teration zones having different crystal size and habit. Sericites can be c1assified into two types based on the crystal size; fine-grained and coarse-grained sericite. Fine-grained sericite occurs as an aggregate. Mineralogical characterizations of both types of sericites have been studied with various methods. Lattice parameters of two types of sericites occurred in various alteration zones are almost identical. but b parameter of coarse-grained sericite appears to be slight1y bigger than that of fine-grained aggregates. Average structural formula of fine- and coarse-grained sericite is $K_{1.44}Al_{3.86}(Si_{6.35}Al_{1.65})O_{20}(OH)_4$ and $K_{1.71}Al_{3.82}(Si_{6.20}Al_{1.80})O_{20}(OH)_4$, respectively. Structural formulae of coarse-grained sericites are close to that of muscovite. Infrared spectra show that there is slight distinction between sericites occurred in andalusite-pyrophyllite zone and other subzones. IR spectra of sericites due to Si-O vibration ($540{\sim}530cm^{-1}$) tend to shift to smaller wavenumber side from center to outer alteration zone. All samples have litt1e or no interstratified minerals. and this is demonstrated by Ir and DTA-TG results. It indicates that the Bobae mine is formed at relatively high temperature. That the ratio of quartz to sericite in ores varies greatly indicates that several discontinuous hydrothermal alteration processes have been involved.

As environmental sustainability becomes a key consideration in policy-making, more responsible consumption and utilization in daily life concern both health and quality of life. To address inequities in health in relation to environments, waste management has taken more progressive ways, and one of them is biomass-to-energy conversion that utilizes energy recovery from food waste. By extension, a food waste zero-emission system using fermentation and extinction technology gains much attention, so that this study is designed to examine residents' attitudes toward recycling food waste produced at home and toward food waste zero-emission system. Utilizing a survey questionnaire, this research collected data from 400 individual units of multifamily housing estates nationwide, and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings indicate that food waste generated at home was highly water-contained and produced in the stage of food preparation before cooking while respondents viewed that food waste collection and treatment needed to be improved. It's noted that respondents strongly supported the use of food waste as a energy source and would have the use of the food waste zero-emission system built in kitchen sink. Regression analysis showed that educational attainment of housewives, cooking style, and planning food purchase were statistically significant factors in the attitude of the responded residents toward recycling food waste while none of the factors were in the attitude toward the food waste zero-emission system.

This paper attempts to evaluate the local economy and the local economic development policy in Goryeong County and to propose some policy alternatives for local economic development. Goryeong County has a locational advantage, which is not just geographically proximate to Daegu, a large metropolis, but also connected directly to the national highway networks. This region can also be regarded as a rural area, in a sense that the primary industry still plays a more important role for the local economy than the secondary industry and the tertiary industry. However, it is problematic that the local economic development strategies of Goryeong are universal rather than strategic and systematic. In order to design an effective regional economic development policy, the policy makers are necessary to deliberately consider regional specificity and geo-political and geo-economic situations around the region. In addition, it is important to say that policy makers, particularly in rural regions, need to break from the fantasy of high-tech industries. In this context, I propose some region-specific and context-specific policy ideas, including the promotion of the agro-food cluster and the build-up of the em-industrial complexes specialized in mechatronics and transportation equipment manufacturing.
In this work, the $SiO_2$ films on the silicon substrate with different orientations were first prepared by the low temperature process using the ECR plasma diffusion as a function of microwave power and oxidation time. Before and after thermal treatment, the surface morphology, Si/O ratio from physicochemical properties, and the electrical properties of the oxide films were also investigated. The oxidation rate increased with microwave power, while surface morphology showed the nonuniform due to etching. The film quality, therefore, was lowered with increasing the defect by etching and the content of positive oxide ions in the oxide films from bulk by higher self-DC bias. The content of positive oxide ions in the oxide films with different Si orientations showed Si(100) < Si(111) < poly Si. The defects in $Si/SiO_2$ interface of $SiO_2$ film could be decreased by annealing, while $Q_{it}$ and $Q_f$ were independent of thermal treatment and the dependent on concentration of reactive oxide ions and self-DC bias of substrate. At microwave power of 300, and 400 W, the high quality $SiO_2$ film that had lower surface roughness and defect in $Si/SiO_2$ interface was obtained. The value of interface trap density, then, was ${\sim}9{\times}10^{10}cm^{-2}eV^{-1}$.

This paper explores the changing aspects of the fishing village and fishermen since the beginning of the Saemangeum Reclamation Development Project in 1991. The Saemangeum Project was neither appropriate nor effective because it adopted an outdated development policy. It should have been obvious that as a result of the Project, tideland where various kinds of clams, crabs, oyster, and many other marine resources live would be lost. The fishermen in the affected area have suffered various hardships. The most acute problem at present is the disappearance of their subsistence activity that threatens their families' survival. Facing the crisis, they view fishing as their most valuable resource. Overlooking the Saemangeum Lake which is newly formed, they view the sea and tideland as their treasure boxes or bank deposits. From the beginning until now, the government did not pay attention to the concerns of the fishermen and their communities. It was an outcome of the typical top-down bureaucratic decision making. Until recently the government has persisted in its position that the primary goal of the reclamation project was to increase agricultural land. In July 23, 2009, the government suddenly announced the new Saemangeum development plan. The new plan focusing on the industrial city complex was quite different from the old plan. Regardless of the revised plan the lives of the villagers in the coastal areas have already been significantly altered. Most villagers no longer depend on fishery. Many have already left their homestead and moved away in order to search new jobs or find another coastal area where they can continue their fishing.

The flooding and deterioration of water quality caused by urbanization and climate change are becoming more serious. In order to respond to this, studies on low impact development (LID) technology, which is designed to restore the hydrological system of the urban basin to its natural state, have been actively pursued all over the world, The announcement of the low carbon green growth law, hydrophilic area special law, etc., highlights the importance of technology such as the LID method. However, whereas various developments have been made in relation to the current LID element technology, there has been little research designed to verify its effectiveness. In this study, we analyzed the optimum spatial distribution of pitcher fire pitcher packing in parking lots using the K - LIDM model to verify the effectiveness of the low impact development (LID) method in the early stages. Using the eight package scenario and the three rain intensity scenarios, it was found that the lower 40% pitcher packaging results in an approximately 90% spill reduction effect, as in the case of the whole pitcher's package. The confirmation of these analyses and experimental verification is expected to ensure that the actual pitcher packaging will be used as a basis for arranging LID facilities such as urban planning and housing development in the future.
