In this project a preliminary experimental research work was done to apply mortars containing magnetite as fine aggregates unto floor finishing materials in order to make indoor environment eco-friendly and to have noiseproof control between floors. Crushed magnetites were substituted as sands in the mix design with a range of 0, 20, 40, 60, 100%. First far-infrared radiation tests to determine emissivity and emission power were done in accordance with the KICM test standard and an outstanding result was obtained. Density and compressive strength test results also showed that as the substitution increases, test values increase in a linear trend. However dry shrinkage test results revealed that as the substitution increases, shrinkage strain also increases. To clearly seek a solution about this problem, more experimental works should be done on oncoming experimental program.

This paper was discussed about in-site application of heavyweight(or high density) concrete. Heavyweight concrete was placed with the method of conventional. Placement of conventionally mixed heavyweight concrete is subject to the same considerations of quality control as normal density concrete, except that it is far more susceptible to variations in quality due to improper handling. It is particularly subject to segregation during placement. Segregation of heavyweight concrete results not only in variation of strength but, far more importantly, in variation in density that are intolerable for work this type, since this adversely affects shielding properties. Heavyweight concrete materials and heavyweight concrete should be sampled and tested prior to and during construction to insure conformance with applicable standards and specifications.

The paper investigates environmental hazards and characteristics of the artificial lightweight aggregate manufactured by using dyestuff sludge from dyeing industrial complex. The dyestuff sludge used in this study is chemically treated with Ti and Fe salt for the purpose of recycling. The artificial lightweight aggregate is manufactured through 3 step; 1) Selecting the optimum moisture content by evaluating plasticity from the mixing ratio of the clay and sludge, 2) shaping round type based on the optimum mixing ratio, 3) drying and Sintering process. Based on KS F 2534 "Lightweight Aggregate for Structural concrete", the particle size, fineness modulus, the density, absorption, unit volume weight, stability and environmental hazards of the manufactured lightweight aggregate are evaluated. Experimental results show that the particle size and fineness modulus is out of the range. However, it is observed that other physical properties are within criteria. In addition, it is confirmed that the problem of the particle size and fineness modulus could be solved in the manufacturing process.

In this research, experiments were conducted to find out whether polycarboxylate could be used as a crude steel admixture for practical work, depending on the change in the replacement level of the compound mixed into polycarboxylate. Its fluidity was satisfactory, its airspace was a bit smaller than the KS standard, and its unit volume weight was proven to meet the standard. The amount of bleeding was smallest in B2, and in terms of the solidification time, the first and the last solidification was faster in A1, B1, and C1. With regard to the compressive strength in early days as acharacteristic of hardened concrete, all addition rates of 7-day C2 displayed the highest strength value, among which the addition rate of 1.3% had the biggest strength performance tendency. The seal strength also showed the strength performance rate which was about one tenth as big as that of the compressive strength. The length change rate resulting from dryness and contraction was proven to be good, and once the appropriate AE air entraining agent is used, it is evaluated to be a very useful and practical compound out in the field.

In this study, we tested to develop and apply structural insulation performance improvement concrete to field, which had compressive strength in 24 MPa and thermal conductivity twice as much as normal concrete. After experiment about slump and air contents, combination product of Plain and calcined diatomite powder showed reduction of slump and air contents and combination product with micro foam cell admixture, we cannot find result of slump and air contents reduction. Unit weight of combination product with insulation performance improvement materials decreased more than that of Plain. In the test of compressive strength, compressive strength of insulation performance improvement concrete decreased more than that of Plain but was content with 24 MPa. thermal conductivity of insulation performance improvement concrete tended to decrease. Freezing and thawing resistance of insulation performance improvement concrete was similar to that of Plain. In carbonation resistance test, combination product with calcined diatomite powder showed the result which was similar to that of Plain. In carbonation resistance test, combination product with micro foam cell admixture showed a increase compared to that of Plain and length variation of combination product generally increased.

In this research, as a measure of reducing energy lost through external wall, we used Glass Hollow Micro Sphere (HMS) to improve insulation performance to structural concrete. The following is a result of experimenting concrete using HMS. As usage of HMS, decrease in slump arose and it is judged as a need of using superplasticizer. Replacement ratio increasing more and more, amount of air showed tendency to decrease and compressive strength decreased for interfacial adhesion had not been formed. as replacement ratio and unit volume decreased. It appears that thermal conductivity decreased about 30.0~46.5 percent as compared with normal weight concrete.

As the lack of specific aggregation intensifies, the development of alternative resources is urgent. Construction waste is increasing every year, but recycled aggregate is used as a low value added material. Various studies are currently underway at the national level. In this paper, the mechanical performance of the concrete according to the concrete mixing method and the replacement amount of the circulating coarse aggregate was compared and evaluated. Concrete mixing method was normal mixing approach(NMA) method, two-stage mixing approach1 (TSMA1) method, two-stage mixing approach2 (TSMA2) method. Fresh concrete was tested for air content, slump test, and unit volume weight. Compressive strength and flexural strength were tested in hardened concrete. According to the TSMA method, the mechanical performance difference of concrete is shown, and the strength is decreased according to the circulating coarse aggregate replacement amount.

Research on FA(Fly ash) is actively carried out, while the research on BA(Bottom ash) is not so, and research on BA recycling field is urgently required. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the lightweight and thermal insulation characteristics of BA mortar by comparing BA mortar made with porous dry BA(air-cooled) and general mortar. To investigate the lightweight of BA, density test, unit volume mass test and SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) test were performed. BA mortar and general mortar molds were prepared for the thermal insulation test at room temperature and humidity environment determined by KS A 0006 and they were dried at the temperature of $105{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ until the weight became constant. As a result of the lightweight test, the lightweight of BA mortar is about 30% lighter than the general mortar. Therefore, BA is expected to contribute to reduce the building load when used as building material. As a result of thermal insulation test, the thermal conductivity of BA mortar is about 30% better than that of general mortar.

This study investigated the best condition when mixed sand with a river and crushed sand was used though the experiment for the properties of the concrete corresponding to the control of fine aggregate ratio to apply the mixed sand and properties of the fine aggregate at the ready-mixed concrete factory on Yeongnam and Honam. The physical properties of Yeongnam and Honam is satisfied with KS F 2526 and KS F 2527 except fineness modulus and passing amount of 8mm sieve. And, the mixed sand above two types which were incongruent to use individually was being used at each factory, and it was managed in accordance with KS. The flowabillity of the mixture proportion of concrete which was estimated by method of unit volume weight according to the fine aggregate ratio at each factory on Yeongnam and Honam was higher than existing mixture proportion. It was analyzed that the residual water due to decline of the surface area caused by reducing fine aggregate ratio was increased relatively. Accordingly, it was considered that the effect on the economic mixture proportion and improvement of durability might be possible.

In this study, the mechanical properties of early-age concrete were evaluated by mixing the electric arc furnace oxidizing slag fine aggregate with 30% and 50% replacement ratio. Slump test, air content test and unit volume weight test were performed for fresh concrete, and compressive strength test and chloride penetration experiments were carried out in hardened concrete. The compressive strength increased up to 7 days of curing age with increasing replacement ratio of the electric furnace oxidizing slag, but the strength decreased to 90% level of OPC concrete at 28 days of age. Regarding the result of chloride penetration test, no significant differences from OPC concrete were evaluated, which shows a feasibility of application to concrete aggregate.
