Nonlinear Analysis considered Confinement Effect of Precast Concrete Segment (프리캐스트 콘크리트 세그먼트의 구속효과를 고려한 비선형 해석)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the confinement effectiveness of precast segmental concrete that binding by lateral confining steel in the method of precast segmental concrete pridge piers construction. Generally, the confinement effect of concrete that binding by lateral confining steel is defined by the confinement effectiveness coefficient and the confinement effectiveness coefficient is defined as the ratio of area of effectively confined concrete core to area of confined concrete core. The area of effectively confined concrete core is defined by Arching action occurred on a space of lateral confinement steel and The area of confined concrete core is defined by the ratio of area of longitudinal reinforcement to area of core of section. But in case of precast segmental concrete, concrete cover that exist on top and bottom of concrete segment should be considered.

Behavior of Solid and Hollow Rectangular RC Piers with 50% of Lap-Spliced Longitudinal Bars (50%주철근 겹침이음을 갖는 중실 및 중공 사각단면 교각의 거동특성)

  • Scale model tests were performed to investigate the seismic behavior of the solid and hollow rectangular RC piers with 50% of lap-spliced longitudinal bars in plastic hinge regions. Continuous bars and lap-spliced ones with a lap length of 39 times the bar diameter were arranged alternately in the sections. In order to clarify the influence of lap splice on a ductility the effect of axial force and lateral confinement were excluded in the test. The typical flexural failure conducting a ductile behavior were observed in both models. It is confirmed that the 50% of lap-spliced bars can be considered as an alternative of seismic detailing for longitudinal bars.

  • Two-dimensional velocity tomograms of P- and S-waves were obtained by inverting traveltimes of first arrivals. The two sections of shear-wave velocity show similar features as a whole, with smaller values on the section from surface wave dispersions. Difficulties in picking SH-wave phases due to noise and later arrivals than P waves and PS converted waves are experienced. In addition, a flat layer model based on the surface wave inversion prohibits applications of the method where sgear wave velocities vary strongly in the lateral direction.

  • This empirical paper addresses the phenomena of the contact melting of PCM in horizontal capsules of circular and rectangular cross sections with various aspect ratio. The melting-rate tends to increase as the Stefan number increases. The case of rectangular tube displays larger melting-rate than that of circular tube, and the melting-rate increases as the aspect ratio decreasws for rectangular tubes. In case of circular tube, the effect of natural convection on the melting-rate is 6.1%, 8.6% and 11.2% according to Stefan number 0.0772, 0.1287 and 0.1802 respectively.

  • A three dimensional model for the orebody of an operating mine in Korea was constructed by using a program called '3-D Modeler'. The program allows the user to interactively construct a 3-D model of an orebody from its horizontal cross-sections. The 3-D Modeler is easily able to combine and display various spatial data for model construction. The result of modeling is strongly influenced by control points that correlate to the adjacent horizontal cross-sections. The control points are determined by comparing the geometrical shape of the adjacent cross-sections in conjunction with the geological features of the orebody. The resulting model can be evaluated in viewing the constructed object in three dimensional space or more closely evaluated by inspecting the cross-section. The model can iteratively be improved by modifying the shape of the cross-section and by using this new cross-section for the model building.

Normal Depth of Best Section (최량수리단면의 등류수심)

  • The computation of normal depth is one of the most important parts in the design of open channel flow, and the best section is in general the most economic section in the case of constructing artificial open channels. Thus the determination of the normal depth of the best section is the essential item in the design of most open channel flows. To estimate the frictional forces a power law is introduced, which is applicable to most situations in open channel flows. Explicit and consistent forms of equations are deduced for the calculation of normal depth of triangular, rectangular and trapezoidal best sections. Furthermore the equations of normal depth are found to have the same form as those of pipe diameter for the design of pipe flow.

  • 1차원 Saint-Venant 방정식을 이용한 동력학적 부정류 계산모형은 하도의 지형과 흐름에 대한 물리적 특성을 잘 반영하고 있지만 하폭이 좁고 경사가 큰 하천에서는 해의 안정성 문제를 갖고 있기 때문에 홍수 예 경보를 목적으로 하는 하도추적 방법으로 항상 적합하다 할 수 없다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 동력학적 부정류 계산모형의 대안으로서 확산파 모형의 수치해법으로 볼 수 있는 Muskingmum-Cunge 모형을 남한강에 적용하여 분포형 매개변수를 추정하는 방법을 제시하였다. 먼저 남한강의 상류인 충주 조정지댐부터 여주 수위관측소까지 가용한 각각의 횡단면에 대해 최심하상고에서 제방고까지 다양한 수위를 가정하고 수면폭과, 통수단면적 그리고 동수반경을 계산한 후 Manning 식을 이용하여 유량을 산정한다. 이때 각 단면별로 유량에 대한 통수단면적과 수면폭에 대하여 회귀분석 방법을 이용해 단면별 매개변수를 추정한다. 추정된 매개변수를 Muskingum-Cunge 모형에 적용하여 상류로부터 하류까지 각 단면별로 하도추적을 수행한다. 계산된 결과는 HEC-HMS Musking-Cunge 모형과 첨두유량의 크기 및 무차원 RMS 등을 비교하였을 때 동력학적 모형의 계산결과에 잘 일치함을 알 수 있다.

Modified Equation for Ductility Demand Based Confining Reinforcement Amount of RC Bridge Columns (철근콘크리트 교각의 소요연성도에 따른 심부구속철근량 산정식 수정)

  • An equation for calculating confining reinforcement amount of RC bridge columns, specified in the current bridge design codes, has been made to provide additional load-carrying strength for concentrically loaded columns. The additional load-carrying strength will be equal to or slightly greater than the resistant strength of a column against axial load, which is lost because the cover concrete spalls off. The equation considers concrete compressive strength, yield strength of transverse reinforcement, and the section area ratio as major variables. Among those variables, the section area ratio between the gross section and the core section, varying by cover thickness, is a variable which considers the strength in the compression-controlled region. Therefore, the cross section ratio does not have a large effect in the aspect of ductile behavior of the tension-controlled region, which is governed by bending moment rather than axial force. However, the equation of the design codes for calculating confining reinforcement amount does not directly consider ductile behavior, which is an important factor for the seismic behavior of bridge columns. Consequently, if the size of section is relatively small or if the section area ratio becomes excessively large due to the cover thickness increased for durability, too large an amount of confining reinforcement will be required possibly deteriorating the constructability and economy. Against this backdrop, in this study, comparison and analysis were performed to understand how the cover thickness influences the equation for calculating the amount of confining reinforcement. An equation for calculating the amount of confining reinforcement was also modified for reasonable seismic design and the safety. In addition, appropriateness of the modified equation was examined based on the results of various test results performed at home and abroad.

  • 통상 교량구조물은 차도부와 보도부 및 그 부속시설로서 난간 및 연석부 등으로 구성되는데, 자동차 전용도로의 경우 보도부가 설치되지 않게 되고, 국내의 국도 및 지방도상의 많은 교량이 차도부와 보도부의 별도의 구분이 없이 보행자가 연석부 위로 통행하거나 여의치 않을 경우 난간에 기대어 통행하는 경우가 일반적이어서 안전사고의 위험에 직접 노출되는 경우가 많다. 이에 국토해양부에서는 최근 "도로의 구조 및 시설기준에 관한 규칙"을 개정하여 국내의 보행자 관련 교통사고로 인한 사망자가 전체 교통사고 사망자의 약 절반을 차지하는 실정을 고려하여 보행자의 안전한 통행로 확보를 통해 보행공간의 근본적인 개선이 불가피한 실정임을 시사 하였다. 이에 국내에서는 교량 보도부의 확장에 대한 관심이 높은 실정이며, 현재 보도부 확장에 대한 시공이 활발하게 이뤄지고 있다. 그러나 기존 교량에 보도부를 신설 혹은 확장함에 있어서 보도부 부재의 설치 간격 및 필요한 앵커볼트의 수량 및 부재의 성능 평가에 대한 기준이 명확하게 이뤄지지 않은 상태에서 설치되어져 왔었다. 기존에 시공되던 H-형강의 브라켓 단면의 경우 브라켓 단면의 중량이 커서 안정성 및 시공성이 떨어지며 과다한 앵커볼트의 체결 및 브라켓 단면의 과다설계로 인한 공사기간 및 비용의 증대를 가져오는 문제점이 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교량 보도부의 확장 및 신설에 있어서 보도부 부재의 설치간격의 적정성 및 브라켓의 최적화를 위한 브라켓의 성능평가 시험을 수행하였다. 브라켓의 성능평가 시험은 1차 2차 3차 시험으로 나누어 진행되었으며, 1차시험은 H-형강의 브라켓단면을 원형강관으로서의 대체 가능성을 확인하였고, 2차 시험에서는 원형강관의 브라켓 단면의 앵커볼트수량의 최적화에 대한 시험을 수행하였으며, 3차 시험은 최적화된 브라켓 단면에 프리스트레싱의 도입으로 반력 및 인발력의 감소효과를 확인하는 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구의 수행결과 기존의 설계 및 시공방법이 과다 설계가 이뤄졌음을 판단하였고, 브라켓 단면의 최적화를 통하여 기존 시공방법에 비해 시공성, 안전성, 경제성을 높일수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
