A Method of Machine-Printed Hangul Recognition using Character and Combined-Grapheme Recognizers (낱자 인식기와 자소 조합 인식기를 혼용한 인쇄체 한글 인식방법)

  • 본 논문에서는 낱자 인식기와 자소 조합 인식기를 혼용한 저품질 인쇄체 한글의 고성능 인식 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법에서는 입력 문자를 한글 6형식과 기타 형식의 문자, 총 7종으로 분류한, 입력문자를 인식 대상 문자의 수와 자소 복잡도에 따라 하나 또는 두 개의 인식 단위(HRU: Hangul recognition unit)로 분리하여 인식한다. 각 인식 단위 영상에서 추출한 방향각 특징을 다층신경망 인식기를 이용하여 인식한다. 다음으로, 각 다층신경망 인식기의 신뢰도를 조합하여 최종 인식 결과를 도출한다. 제안한 방법을 사용한 실험에서 98.80%의 인식률을 얻을 수 있었으며, 이는 기존 방법에 비해 23.61%의 오류가 감소한 것이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 낱자에서 추출한 특징을 입력으로 사용하는 자소 인식기를 이용한 저해상도 인쇄체 한글 영상의 인식 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법에서는 입력 문자를 한글 6 형식과 기타 형식의 문자, 총 7 종으로 분류한 뒤, 입력 문자를 인식 대상 문자의 수와 자소 복잡도에 따라 하나 또는 두 개의 인식 단위로 구분하여 인식한다. 각 HRU는 낱자에서 추출한 방향각 특징을 입력으로 사용하는 다층 신경망 인식기를 이용하여 인식한다. 다음으로, 각 다층 신경망 인식기의 신뢰도를 조합하여 최종 인식 결과를 도출한다. 제안한 방법을 사용한 실험에서 98.99%의 인식률을 얻을 수 있었으며, 이는 기존 방법에 비해 15.83%의 오류가 감소한 것이다.

  • 최근 대용량 고속송신을 위한 모바일 무선정보통신기기의 신뢰성향상 함께 광 인쇄회로기판(O-PCB)국산화개발이 진행되고 있다. 광 Rigid-MLB개발에 이어 개발추진중인 광 Flexlble PCB는 광 연결 장치는 대용량데이터를 고속 전송하는데 필수적이다. 전원접속코드를 사용하지 않는 광도파로 층으로 구성되며 전기신호를 광신호로 변환시켜 다층의 광도파로 층으로 전송시킨다. 신속한 전송을 위한 균일도금에칭기술이 요구되고 있다.

Design of High-Speed Multi-Layer PCB for Ultra High Definition Video Signals (UHD급 영상구현을 위한 다층인쇄회로기판의 특성 임피던스 분석에 관한 연구)

  • In UHD high-speed video transmission system, when a signal within certain frequency region coincides electrically and structurally, the system becomes unstable because the energy is concentrated, and signal flux is interfered and distorted. For the instability, power integrity analysis should be conducted. To remove the signal distortion for MLB, using a high-frequency design technique for EMI phenomenon, EMI which radiates electromagnetic energy fluxed into power layer was analyzed considering system stabilization. In this paper, we proposed an adaptive MLB design method which minimizes high-frequency noise in MLB structure, enhances signal integrity and power integrity, and suppresses EMI. The characteristic impedance for multi-layer circuit board proposed in this study were High-Speed Video Differential Signaling(HSVDS) line width w = 0.203, line gap d = 0.203, beta layer height h = 0.145, line thickness t = 0.0175, dielectric constant εr = 4.3, and characteristic impedance Zdiff = 100.186Ω. When high-speed video differential signal interface board was tested with optimized parameters, the magnitude of Eye diagram output was 672mV, jittering was 6.593ps, transmission frequency was 1.322GHz, signal to noise was 29.62dB showing transmission quality improvement of 10dB compared to previous system.

  • In this paper, we propose an effective method for the distinction between machine-printed and handwritten Korean address images. It is important to know whether an input image is handwritten or machine-printed, because methods for handwritten image are quite different from those of machine-printed image in such applications as address reading, form processing, FAX routing, and so on. Our method consists of three blocks: valid connected components grouping, feature extraction, and classification. Features related to width and position of groups of valid connected components are used for the classification based on a neural network. The experiment done with live Korean address images has demonstrated the superiority of the proposed method. The correct classification rate for 3,147 testing images was about 98.85%.

  • The paper deals with the analysis of radiation characteristics of antenna in the multi-layered media structures. The dyadic Green's function for three layer medium is complex because the Green's functions belonging to the kernel of the integral equation are expressed as Sommerfeld integrals, in which surface wave effects are automatically included. When certain condition are met, the integral can be evaluated approximated by the method of Saddle-point integration. In this study, we propose a method to calculate a radiation pattern for several antennas by using the method of Saddle-point integration. Numerical results show how the radiation characteristics are affected by parameter of dielectric media.

Printability of coating layer with nano silica sol for inkjet printing high-end photo paper (나노 실리카 졸을 이용한 잉크젯 프린팅용 고품질 인쇄용지 도공층의 인쇄적성)

  • In recent years, printing paper with a function of information delivery and aesthetic value has attracted a great attention with increasing market demand for coated paper that is capable of high quality printing. The coated paper for inkjet printing with high-quality of photorealistic grades requires the coating layer with a good wettability and porous surface structure in order to improve the printability of ink. In this study, the coated paper was prepared using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and surface treated nano silica sol with silane coupling agent. It was confirmed that the coating layer with surface treated nano silica sol showed a uniform pore distribution and flat surface roughness. Glossiness of the prepared printing paper was similar to that of commercial high quality photo paper. Especially, the coated paper with surface treated nano silica sol showed improved printability with excellent roundness of the printed dot of ink. These results indicates that the coating layer with excellent wettability and uniform pore distribution can be formed by using the nano-silica particles with improved dispersibility through the surface treatment of the silane coupling agent.

Mobile Automatic Conversion System using MLP (다층신경망을 이용한 모바일 자동 변환 시스템)

  • The recent mobile industry is providing of a lot of image on/off-line contents are being converted into the mobile contents for architectural design. However, it is difficult to provide users with the existing on/off-line contents without any considerations due to the small size of the mobile screen. In existing methods to overcome the problem, the comic contents on mobile devices are manually produced by computer software such as Photoshop. In this paper, I describe the Automatic Comics Conversion(ACC) system that provides the variedly form of offline comic contents into mobile device of the small screen using Multi-Layer Perceptorn(MLP). ACC produces an experience together with the comic contents fitting for the small screen, which introduces a clustering method that is useful for variety types of comic images and characters as a prerequisite as a stage for preserving semantic meaning. An application is to use the frame form of pictures, website and images in order into mobile device the availability and can bounce back the freeze images contents into dynamic images content.
