Management and Control Scheme for Next Generation Packet-Optical Transport Network (차세대 패킷광 통합망 관리 및 제어기술 연구)

  • Increase of data traffic and the advent of new real-time services require to change from the traditional TDM-based (Time Division Multiplexing) networks to the optical networks that soft and dynamic configuration. Voice and lease line services are main service area of the traditional TDM-based networks. This optical network became main infrastructure that offer many channel that can convey data, video, and voice. To provide high resilience against failures, Packet-optical networks must have an ability to maintain an acceptable level of service during network failures. Fast and resource optimized lightpath restoration strategies are urgent requirements for the near future Packet-optical networks with a Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching(GMPLS) control plane. The goal of this paper is to provide packet-optical network with a hierarchical multi-layer recovery in order to fast and coordinated restoration in packet-optical network/GMPLS, focusing on new implementation information. The proposed schemes do not need an extension of optical network signaling (routing) protocols for support.

Energy-efficient routing protocol based on Localization Identification and RSSI value in sensor network (센서 네트워크에서 RSSI 값과 위치 추정 기반의 에너지 효율적인 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • This study has a purpose that improves efficiency of energy management and adaptation followed by movement of node better than the various early studied routing techniques. The purpose of this paper is the technique that uses RSSI value and location of sensor that is received by each sensor node to routing. This sduty does not save node information of 1-hop distance. And it solves energy-inefficient traffic problem that happens during data exchange process for middle node selection in close range multi hop transmission technique. The routing protocol technique that is proposed in this study selects a node relevant to the range of transmission which is set for RSSI value that is received by each node and selects the closest node as a middle node followed by location data. Therefore, it is for not exhaustion of node's energy by managing energy efficiently and cutting data transmission consuming until the destination node.

  • One of the most important VANET applications is providing active safety by broadcasting emergency messages. In order to prevent broadcast storm of flooding-based broadcasting scheme in which any node receiving message will rebroadcast, the existing protocols use the different methods to limit the number of relay nodes. Nevertheless, the existing protocols have low delivery ratio with high traffic density and cause message overhead. Currently, the dramatic increase in the number of vehicles equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) and onboard radar created new application scenarios that were not feasible before. Consequently, we proposed a broadcasting protocol that selects relay node by using GPS-based position information and detecting neighboring vehicles with the help of onboard radar to. Simulation results show that our proposed protocol has better performance than the existing schemes.

Adaptive Beam Selection Method for Improvement of Spectral Efficiency in Millimeter-Wave MIMO (밀리미터파 대역의 다중입출력 안테나 시스템에서 스펙트럼 효율 향상을 위한 적응적 빔 선택 기법)

  • As the wireless communication technique is developing rapidly, the use of smart devices is increasing. Due to gradually increasing data traffic, a new area, more than 6GHz of bandwidth to increase capacity of the network, has been studied. Millimeter Wave(MmWave) communications utilizes the bandwidth above 6GHz, which makes it possible to achieve one gigabit per second data rate. To overcome the path loss due to the smaller wavelength, the mass of the antenna arrangement is used. This paper presents an algorithm that maximizes the spectral efficiency of the system in the pre-coding process using a hybrid beamforming. Also it is suggested with the optimization of the number of beams that maximizes the spectral efficiency was maximized by the propose method.

Design and Implementation of MPλS Simulator based on ns-2 Network Simulator (ns-2 네트워크 시뮬레이터 기반의 MPλS 시뮬레이터의 설계 및 구현)

  • The rapid increase of Internet users, diversity of application services, high speed data transmission, and extension of application areas have resulted in exponential growth of Internet traffic. In order to satisfy the increasing demand of bandwidth, the MPλS protocol, which is based on MPLS for efficient integration of WDM and IP protocols, has been suggested by IETF. In this paper, we present an MPλS simulator which enables to simulate various MPλS function such as optical crossconnect (OXC), multi-wavelength links, routing and wavelength assignment(RWA), and MPλS signaling and control. The simulator is developed based on the ns-2, an widely used multi-protocol network simulator. The function of the simulator is validated by running many simulation based on various scenarios and performance measures such as throughput and blocking probability. The simulator could be widely utilized for validation of proposed protocols before developing real optical network systems.

An Improved Route Recovery using Bidirectional Searching Method for Ad hoc Networks (Ad hoc 네트워크에서의 양방향 경로탐색을 이용한 경로복구 개선 방안)

  • Since the ad-hoc network allow nodes to communicate each other without infrastructure system and predefined configuration, it comes into the spotlight that is suitable to ubiquitous society. In ad-hoc network, route recovery mechanism is considered important. Normally route recovery is needed to solve the link failure problem because there is no route maintaining system like a router in ad-hoc networks. In this paper we propose BS-AODV(Bidirectional Searching-AODV) route recovery method. The proposed method is a local repair method that can be applied in all of the network area. Unlike a limited local repair method in AODV. the proposed method adopts the bidirectional searching method where the upstream/downstream nodes can send the route maintenance messages. Restricting the flooding of route request messages, the proposed scheme attempts to minimize the costs of local repair, the performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated through the simulations. In two scenarios which variate the node numbers and node speed, the comparison among the proposed scheme, AODV and AOMDV is shown in terms of the control traffic and data delivery ratio.

  • 위성통신 시스템은 기존의 지상망이나 광 케이블 기술에 비해 통신 대역폭의 유연성과 다중 접속 능력, 이동 통신, 광역성, 멀티포인트 및 브로드캐스팅 등의 고유의 특징으로 인해 초 고속 정보 통신망 구축에 중요한 역할을 할 것이다. 또한 위성통신은 앞으로 도래할 브로드 캐스팅 및 멀티미디어 서비스 등의 통신환경을 지원하며, 지상중계망의 장애 및 트래픽 폭 주시에 대체경로를 제공함으로써 지상망 중심으로 진화·발전되어 온 B-ISDN망과 상호 보 완적인 보완망으로서의 역할을 수행할 것이다. 따라서 지상 B-ISDN과 위성망의 통합은 지 상망의 효율성고 안정성을 향상시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 국가의 모든 통신망을 하나의 정 보 통신망으로 구성하여 국가의 정보를 효율적으로 이용, 관리 및 운용할 수 있기 때문에 위성망과 B-ISDN간의 연동에 대한 연구는 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 OBP(On-Board Processing) 탑재 위성 B-ISDN 중계망의 호 처리 절차 연구를 수행하는 것으로서, 위성 B-ISDN 구조와 각 지구국별 신호 기능 및 B-ISDN 신호 시스템인 DSS2(Digital Subscriber Signalling No.2) 계층 3 신호 프로토콜, B-ISUP(B-ISDN User Part) 프로토콜, S-BISUP(Satellite BISUP) 프로토콜의 구조를 분석하였다. 또한 점-대-다지점 연결을 위한 B-ISDN의 연결과 소유권 및 각각의 프로토콜에 대한 메시지와 프리미티브를 정의하여, 이 를 토대로 OBP 탑재 위성 B-ISDN 중계망 연동을 위한 기본 호 처리 절차를 설계 및 검증 하고, 이를 구현하였다.

Efficient Hardware Support: The Lock Mechanism without Retry (하드웨어 지원의 재시도 없는 잠금기법)

  • A lock mechanism is essential for synchronization on the multiprocessor systems. The conventional queuing lock has two bus traffics that are the initial and retry of the lock-read. %is paper proposes the new locking protocol, called WPV (Waiting Processor Variable) lock mechanism, which has only one lock-read bus traffic command. The WPV mechanism accesses the shared data in the initial lock-read phase that is held in the pipelined protocol until the shared data is transferred. The nv mechanism also uses the cache state lock mechanism to reduce the locking overhead and guarantees the FIFO lock operations in the multiple lock contentions. In this paper, we also derive the analytical model of WPV lock mechanism as well as conventional memory and cache queuing lock mechanisms. The simulation results on the WPV lock mechanism show that about 50% of access time is reduced comparing with the conventional queuing lock mechanism.

A Research on an Email Method based on Sender Mailbox (송신자사서함 기반의 메일 방식에 관한 연구)

  • The conventional email method based on a recipient mailbox has a structural weakness, which may cause the spam message problem and the extreme waste of recipient mailbox space, and also require an explicit recipient notification scheme. This paper proposes a new email method based on a sender mailbox and evaluates its performance. Under the new email method, a message is stored at sender mailbox instead of recipient one until an intended recipient reads the message, so that the burden of mailbox management such as removing spam message is now shifted to sender side. And also a sender can confirm whether an intended recipient has read his or her message by simply rummaging his or her sender mailbox. The results of Performance evaluation show that 75% of mailbox space and 90% of message traffic are reduced in conditions that the portions of spam message and multicasting message are 90% and 80%, respectively.

Proportional Fair Subcarrier Allocation Scheme in the Multiuser OFDM Wireless Mobile Communication Systems (다중 사용자 OFDM 무선 이동통신 환경에서의 비례공정 부반송파 할당기법)

  • In this paper, the new scheduling algorithm that supports the maximization of system throughput and the proportional fairness among non-real time traffic users is proposed in OFDMA wireless mobile communication systems. The concept of the proposed algorithm is based on the proportional fairness algorithm, which is deployed in 3GPP2, and sorting method. The proportional fairness algorithm is adapted to allocate the number of subcarrier per user. A sorting method is contributed to the maximization of system throughput in the practical allocation of subcarrier per user. Simulation results show that new algorithm had better performance than the max rate rule in case of fairness, higher throughput than the scheduling algorithm without sorting method. Even though the system throughput of the proposed algorithm is almost same with the iteration scheme using subcarrier swapping method between users, the computational time of the former is reduced up to 3 times than the latter.
