Measurement of oxygen isotope ratio using tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (다이오드 레이저 흡수분광법을 이용한 산소 동위원소의 성분비 측정)

  • Tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy was performed for analysis of the H$_2$$^{18}$ O/H$_2$$^{16}$ O isotope ratio of a water sample which was enriched by the membrane distillation method. In order to improve the signal-to-noise ratio, the wavelength modulation spectroscopic method was used with a lock-in amplifier. The fringe noise could be suppressed by using the FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) lowpass filter and the optimization of the modulation depth of the laser frequency. The maximum deviation of $\delta$-value was measured to be$\pm$4$\textperthousand$.

  • This paper is concerned with remote environment monitoring & control for the breeding house as scattering far and wide. The environment data is detected in the breeding house that is collected to one processor. It's adapted to the PSTN(public switch tele-phone network) and multi-processing for exchange the environment data and the control data in between the manager and a breeding house by micro-processor. We have designed the algorithm of the communication sequence through the experimental research. This system is composed of sensor interface, FSK communications, LED display, data latch and MCS-51 single-chip. The S/W is composed with data acquisition by multi-processing, data communication and interrupt. And this paper is Proposed the DB structure algorithm concern to a mount scale using web design. The subject is a performance of effective management for the breeding house.

The Comparison of Filter Performance in UFMC systems (UFMC 시스템에서 필터성능 비교)

  • UFMC is known as a candidate for the 5G wireless communication system because it is robust against ICI and better performs in asynchronous situation than OFDM. In the UFMC system, the filtering is performed for each subband so the performance of the filter is very important. The Dolph-Chebyshev filter has been used in conventional UFMC system because of its small out-of-band radiation. However it has distortion in the sub-band and skirt characteristics is not good enough. Therefore, it is necessary to study a new type of UFMC filter which reduces the distortion in the subband and has sharp skirt characteristics. In this paper we analyze the effect of filter frequency response in UFMC system and suggest the wavelet based type of filter that substitutes the Dolph-ChebyShev filter used in the conventional UFMC system. The simulation results show that wavelet filter has better BER performance in multipath fading channels than conventional filters.

  • UFMC is known as the one among novel multi-carrier modulation techniques which are designed for replacing OFDM for 5G wireless communication systems. It is the generalized model of OFDM and FBMC, which combines the advantages of OFDM and FBMC and avoids their weak points. UFMC is more robust in synchronization condition like Time-frequency misalignment compared to CP-OFDM. Moreover UFMC is more proper to burst uplink transmission like M2M 5G Communications. In this paper we analyze the BER performance in various channels and speeds. The simulation result shows that the BER performance is lowered when mobile devices are moving fast and the BER performance is so sensitive for the good channel environment.

  • This paper analyzes the performance for an improved multistage parallel interference cancellation (PIC) technique with a reverse-link synchronous transmission technique (RLSTT) for DS-CDMA system in a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel with an imperfect power control scheme. The performance degradation due to power control error (PCE), which is approximated by a log-normally distributed random variable, is estimated as a function of the standard deviation of the PCE. The uncoded bit error performance is evaluated in order to estimate the system capacity. Comparing with the conventional one-stage PIC system, we show achievable gain around $60\%$ by the RLSTT even in the presence of PCE. We conclude that the capacity can be further improved via RLSTT, which alleviates the detrimental effects of the PCE

  • In the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system, the prefix inserted between data symbols should be eliminated to apply the Fourier transform on the valid symbol interval. This functional procedure should be based on the accurate symbol timing detection. The symbol timing detection at the receiver side provides the reference for determining the beginning time index of each symbol whose initial point is located at the boundary between the preamble and the payload part. Also, the detection error is one of the main factors in the overall system performance. In this paper the effect of the bandwidth of the moving average filter on the symbol timing detection is discussed. Simulations are carried out to analyze the detection performance for the varying values of the window size of the moving average filter which is related to the filter bandwidth.

  • Current mobile communication systems utilize the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission technique as an important means to enhance the bandwidth efficiency. Accurate beamforming via channel estimation contributes to the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) increase and the system performance improvement when MIMO transmission techniques are employed. Therefore, determination of beamforming vectors as well as the design of appropriate codebooks defining these codevectors play an important role in system operation. In this paper, we statistically analyze the phase difference between the channels corresponding to adjacent antenna elements in order to design an efficient codebook for uniform circular arrays (UCAs). We introduce new parameters which compensate for the additional phase difference observed in its probability density functions (PDFs). The performance of the proposed codebook is tested using the spatial channel model (SCM) to demonstrate its gain over the standard codebooks adopted in the long term evolution (LTE) Releases 8 and 10.

  • This paper presents the flexible MEMS transmitter based on flexible printed circuit board or FPCB, which can be transformed to arbitrary shape. The FPCB is suitable to fabricate light weight and small size modules with the help of its thin thickness. Moreover a module based on FPCB can be attached on the arbitrary curved surface due to its flexible enough to be lolled up like paper. In this paper, the flexible MEMS transmitter integrated on FPCB for a short-distance sensor network which is based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) communication system is proposed. The active device of the proposed flexible MEMS transmitter is fabricated on InGaP/GaAs HBT process which has been used for power amplifier design to take advantages of high linear and high efficient characteristics. Moreover, the passive devices such as the filter and signal lines are integrated and fabricated on the FPCB board. The performance of the fabricated flexible MEMS transmitter is analyzed with EVM characteristics of the output signal.

Reduced Complexity QRD-M Algorithm for Spatial Multiplexing MIMO-OFDM Systems (공간 다중화 MIMO-OFDM 시스템을 위한 복잡도 감소 QRD-M 알고리즘)

  • Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology applied with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is considered as the ultimate solution to increase channel capacity without any additional spectral resources. At the receiver side, the challenge resides in designing low complexity detection algorithms capable of separating independent streams sent simultaneously from different antennas. In this paper, we introduce an upper-lower bounded-complexity QRD-M algorithm (ULBC QRD-M). In the proposed algorithm we solve the problem of high extreme complexity of the conventional sphere decoding by fixing the upper bound complexity to that of the conventional QRD-M. On the other hand, ULBC QRD-M intelligently cancels all unnecessary hypotheses to achieve very low computational requirements. Analyses and simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves the performance of conventional QRD-M with only 26% of the required computations.

Comparison of Time and Frequency Resources of DFT-s-OFDM Systems Using the Zero-Tail and Unique Word (Zero Tail과 Unique Word를 사용하는 DFT-s-OFDM 시스템들의 시간과 주파수 자원 비교)

  • In the upcoming 5-generation mobile communication system, various techniques for improving the power efficiency and spectral efficiency have been proposed. 5G mobile communication system also have been studied a lot of multi-carrier-based modulation techniques like the 4G mobile communication system. In this paper, we analyzed the conventional system structure of the Zero-tail DFT-s-OFDM and UW (Unique Word) -DFT-s-OFDM system based on DFT-s-OFDM system in these techniques. UW and zero are added and used each system, and CP is removed. the result of quality of systems for simulation, OOB(Out of Band) power of Zero-tail DFT-s-OFDM and UW-DFT-s-OFDM use the less time resource as long as CP length, also both systems are reduced about 11dB than DFT-s-OFDM system. In these result, Zero-tail DFT-s-OFDM and UW-DFT-s-OFDM system are more effective than DFT-s-OFDM system.
