Visual and color in Korean newspaper advertisements appeared in transformational advertising (21cm$\times$30.4cm) were analyzed. Data were gathered from 191 advertisements shown on major four daily newspaper; Dong-a, Joong-ang, Chosun, and Hanguk from October to December in 2000. From the results of this research, researcher concluded the followings; Both Korean and English are frequently used. With expectation of high readability, Roman/serifs and San serifs are mostly used typefaces. Selecting color for copy and backgraund in advertisements became more varied to satisfy varied consumers' personality.

A federal system speaks for a political system that the principle of the common sovereignty among the local governments is applied. The basic purpose of the system is to make institutional devices capable of striving for the mutual cooperation in a greater political unit, reflecting a minority race's right and demand by decentralizing a state authority into the individual region. The basic purpose for formation of a federal system is realized when a form for the supplement of political elite personnels has a autonomous nature by the subject of a federal structure. During from B.Yeltsin to V.Putin, a form for the supplement of political elite personnels into the local governments has changed by a political purpose of a central government, In company with this change, the character of federalism in Russia has been also changed. Accordingly, this study has treated a subject about how the political elite personnels of local assembly men, governors of a state, assemblymen of both Houses, and the president of Russia are suppled, and also how such a form for the supplement of political elite personnels has changed the character of federalism in Russia.

The illustrations of picture book for children transmit not only one image but also the summary and contents of the picture book by connecting images harmoniously. The images of picture book give children a variety of emotion and impression depending upon the location of image at various factors such as blank and form, texture and colors, and space feeling, etc. Therefore, the picture book for children has the continuity transmitting the flow of images by not only the contents of natural story but also uniform and rhythmical factors. The continuity of images can transmit images by visual ideas that are produced depending upon the connections of pictures between writings and picture, between images, and inside images. In such a way, children can understand the contents of story. The paper examines the continuity of the images of the picture book for children and describes correct expressions on harmonious connections of the images made based on children's individuality and ingenuity.

The purpose of this study is to revise the previous mathematics glossary Since the last mathematics glossary was published by MOE in 1937, there have been two curriculum revisions. As a result, many terms which are newly included in the curriculum are not specified in the mathematics glossary. Moreover, part of mathematics terms and the informations about mathematicians and mathematics educators in mathematics glossary are not correct. Thus the revision of the mathematics glossary is definitely necessary. To collect the opinions about mathematics terms, a large scale survey targeting mathematics education researchers and mathematics teachers was conducted and the subsequent meetings were held. Also, the studies regarding mathematics terminology were thoroughly reviewed to provide the direction of desirable mathematics terms. Reflecting all these informations, the draft of the new mathematics glossary was completed.

This study analyzed the positional accuracy of cadastral control points where central datum points and eastern datum points meet in the area of standard datum of geographic coordinate, in order to suggest the possibility of converting cadastral coordinates into global coordinates in the future in areas between cadastral datum. 12 GPS observation data points were extracted from the station of triangulation in the experimental area, and the accuracy of coordinate conversions in the area where central and eastern datum points meet was analyzed. The results show that the x-coordinate RMSE was ${\pm}0.0014m$ and the y-coordinate RMSE was ${\pm}0.0011m$. Such excellent results indicated that it is possible to convert to the global coordinate system. Thus, in converting to the global coordinate system, it appears possible to convert even borderline datum point areas if points with stable outcomes are selected by inspecting various triangulation markers, then used to carry out the conversion.

The number of dangerous goods are increasing in maritime transport. As a result, a number of nations and international organizations are establishing or amending the rules of dangerous goods. There is necessarily the transport of dangerous goods like fuel and the importance of the definition and scope of the goods is increased. In addition, the responsibility between the parties is different with the notification of the goods and its awareness of transporters. In particular, responsible clauses of the transport rule show antithetical concepts between the scope of immunity and the responsibility of a shipper concerned with wether transporters aware. This research performs two works. First, this research analyzes the definitions and scope of dangerous goods through prior research. Second, this research suggests the necessary of united interpretation of the articles through a comparative analysis on judical decisions concerned with awareness of transporters to dangerous goods. Dangerous goods have a distinctive feature and that is why responsibility and immunity between parties should be differently interpreted with general rules. Parties have duty concerned with faults on general goods and the scope of duty between parties can be specifically made. However, if there is no specific articles concerned with responsibility between parties to dangerous goods, they could confuse the responsibility on duties concerned with risk. Therefore, this research suggests solutions and necessary of the united criteria for the articles to dangerous goods through analyzing precedent cases.

Due to the recent surge of wireless Internet and concurrent development of the end user terminal devices having standardized graphical user interface(GUI) and unified operation mechanism for better interactivity in information representation and ease of use, various efforts on the improvement of GUI is widely recognized as one of the key factors that will usher in the next stages of the wireless Internet for the users. Especially, improved usability along with unique visual effect are considered to be the key elements for GUI considering the rapid improvement of the resolution and color on the end user handset devices; thus, the study and research on the subject of GUI is expected to increase along with the wireless Internet using smart phones. User interface of the wires Internet end user handsets will have a definite and significant effect on the user interaction as well as productivity. Domestically, wireless Internet service providers and GUI design companies are making various efforts in producing a common GUI models for standardized operation scheme and improved graphical display capabilities of the hand phones, PDAs and smart phones. In the study, Nokia 3650 model and Microsoft Orange SPV model were chosen as test devices for usability comparison and data collection to collect directional benchmark data in developing next generation smart phone user interface integrating PDAs and phones. The mail purpose of this study is to achieve the most efficient user accessibility to WAP menu through intensive focus on developing WIPI WAP menu having most effective usability for the users in their twenties and thirties. The result of this study can also be used as the base research materials for WAP service development, VM browser development and PDA browser development. The result of this study along with the evaluation model is expected to provide effective analysis materials on the subject of user interface to the developers of the wireless Internet user devices, GUI designers and service planners while short listing key factors to consider in developing smart phones therefore serving as the GUI guideline of WIPI phones.

As the world approaches to a keen competition for design, corporations began to be interested in CI (Corporate Identity), PI (Product Identity) as a way of enhancing the valve of corporation that has competitive power. PI (Product Identity) leads communication to an affirmative direction that is formed when the consumer uses products and feels the image of corporation. It is said to be important that it is part of synthetic and systematic strategy of corporation to gain an advantage over competitor in the market place with an unified corporate image. Even though mobile phones are sensitively changed according to a trend and public fancy, PI (Product Identity) of mobile phones is also important. The study purports to ascertain the propensity of Nokia's PI (Product Identity) and to analyze their unique PI.

Old maps are a cultural heritage of recorded information with humanities materials and scientific value. However, there is no sufficient study on the development of web-based information system using old maps to provide the old map information. In this study, we analyze the status of the old map information on the website of the main institutions, construct the web-based information systems to provide the unified map information efficiently and systematically. It is not easy to standardize the data categories and information searching method because of the diversity and complexity of old map. So, the importance of engineering information management is growing. Therefore, the attempting to computerized humanistic old map information and the integrated approach is very important and necessary. This study provide an opportunity to combine the humanities and engineering through the convergence between information technology, humanities, and computational engineering.
