The purpose of this study identified the effectiveness of the existent interventions, which had been applied to the teens in multicultural families in South Korea. Totally 29 relevant studies, including dissertations and published articles, published from 2008 to 2014, were systematically searched and analyzed through meta-analytic method. The study results revealed the specific conditions which made the intervention more effective for the teens in multicultural families. Specifically, the program could be most effective when the program had a social adaptation intervention type as well as aimed to middle school students as a target population. Also, the program could be most effective when the program had lower than 8 sessions, run 3-5 times a week, and had from 21 to 30 participants in one intervention group. In addition, current existing programs showed higher effect sizes on outcomes focusing on relationships rather than on those focusing on psychological problems. This study is theoretically meaningful in terms of quantitatively synthesizing the existing intervention programs for the teens in multicultural families. In addition, we expect that this study would practically contribute to develop evidence-based programs for those teens in multicultural families.

This study suggests different improvement practices of adolescents' multicultural acceptability to compare the factors influencing multicultural acceptability with elementary and middle school students. The data used in this study come from the Korean Child and Youth Panel Study(KCYPS) of the National Youth Policy Institute(NYPI) comprising 4,092 responses from 5th grade elementary school students and 4th grade(middle school 2nd grade) of elementary school students. The study data were subjected to hierarchical regression analysis to give the following findings. First, Levels of Multicultural Acceptability were significantly different. Second, factors influencing multicultural acceptability for elementary school students and middle school students were different. Common factors were mother's education level, life's satisfaction, peer relationship, teacher relationship, and spirit of community. Factors for elementary school students's multicultural acceptability were subjective academic achievement, community awareness, experiences of cultural activity, and overseas visiting experiences. The factor for middle school students's multicultural acceptability was family/group travel experiences. Our findings highlight the importance of programs and education that are suitable for children's developmental level. Such peer group programs need to be offered for middle school students to achieve spirit of community and educational group program and various extracurricular activities to achieve community awareness and develop a spirit of community for elementary school students.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation and the degree of multicultural perception, cultural competence, and multicultural acceptance of nursing college students. METHODS: The study was analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program. The correlation among multicultural perception, cultural competence, and multicultural acceptance was analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficients, and it was analyzed using Multiple Regression to figure out factors influencing multicultural acceptance. RESULTS: Multicultural acceptance was a significant positive correlation with multicultural perception and cultural competence of nursing college students (r = .645, p <.001; r = .556, p <.001). As a result of regression analysis, it was confirmed that multicultural perception (${\beta}=0.479$, p <.001) and cultural competence (${\beta}=0.299$, p <.001) were factors that influence nursing students' multicultural acceptance. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that nursing students should develop cultural competency as a way to increase multicultural acceptance in a multicultural society. Also, in developing and implementing multicultural education programs, it is necessary to develop multicultural education program content and the policy backing should be supported that promotes multicultural perception and enhances cultural competence.

This study examines the process of developing and managing parent participation education programs, its performance, and its factor of deriving performance targeted on multi-cultural parents with children in early elementary school. Particularly, opinions of multi-cultural parents were considered and every process of developing and managing the program in this study was reflected. The analysed results were largely divided into three upper categories, which were 'growing as parents', 'forming new multi-culturalism', 'creating support system', and eight sub-categories. In addition, the factors that led to the positive achievement of program were appeared as 'development of active education program', 'organization and operation of parent inclusive program', 'utilization of flexible group structure', 'implementation of close interaction and communication between the members of the development team and the management team'. Based on the following results, we propose development and management process for effective multi-cultural parent education program.

As the technology of virtual reality has recently developed, virtual reality treatment programs for game addiction and alcoholism are being developed. The purpose of this study is to present a model of developmental process of virtual reality based cognitive behavior therapy program for trauma intervention in multicultural adolescents. The development of virtual reality program of cognitive behavior therapy consists of three stages. In the first step, In the first stage, the trauma characteristics including the main emotions and the expression problem due to the trauma experienced by the multicultural youth should be grasped. In the second stage, the contents of the development process and scope of the scenario for the cognitive behavior therapy for trauma should be presented. In the final stage 3, the study will examine the feasibility of implementing the scenario contents in the virtual reality program. Through this process, the intervention program development model that can lead the positive change of the multicultural youth was presented.

농어촌지역의 인구감소로 인한 인력난 해소를 위하여 국가적으로 농·어가당 외국인 고영허용 인원을 확대하고 농가의 경우 계절 근로제도 대상 적용 작물 제한을 없애는 등 인력확보를 위해 노력하고 있다. 외국인 근로자와 국제결혼 증가로 인하여 국내 체류 외국인 수는 지속적으로 증가추세를 보이고 있으며, 코로나 19 이전 2019년 12월 말에 체류 외국인이 252만 명으로 대한민국 전체 인구의 4.9%에 해당하며, 통상 학계에서는 외국인 비율이 5%를 넘으면 다문화사회로 분류한다. 지속적인 외국인 근로자 및 다문화 가구의 증가에 따라 지역사회에서 갈등이 발생하고 있으며, 다문화사회로 분류된 상황에서 외국인 근로자 및 다문화 가구를 지역사회의 일원으로 인식하고 갈등을 적극적으로 해결할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 남해군 미조권역의 사례를 바탕으로 외국인 근로자 및 다문화 가구와 원주민과의 갈등관리를 위한 시설물 및 프로그램 계획, 현안갈등과 잠재적갈등 관리 방안을 제안하여 어촌지역 다문화사회의 발전을 도모할 수 있는 실질적인 연구 수행의 의의가 있다.

This study analyzed the influence of cultural empathy and analysis on the cultural sensitivity and understanding of multicultural education and the relationship between the attitudes and cultural empathy and understanding of multicultural education and the multicultural sensibility and attitudes of pre-service early childhood teachers. We conducted a survey on cultural sensitivity, multicultural education and understanding attitude among Early Childhood Education College and enrolled 165 infants with pre teachers in pre-service early childhood teachers who are able to sympathize with cultural areas of the Y. The data were subjected to Pearson correlation analysis with multiple regression analysis performed using the SPSS 21.0 program. From the data analysis, first, cultural empathy and multicultural sensitivity showed a significant positive correlation with understanding and attitudes of multicultural education pre-service early childhood teachers. Second, cultural empathy of the pre-service early childhood teachers was a significant variable for predicting the susceptibility multicultural, multicultural education and understanding attitude. Since cultural empathy can change according to various factors, future investigation of these factors is needed to increase the cultural sensitivity of pre-service early childhood teachers by conducting follow-up studies that apply these findings to educational programs. Cultural empathy shouldn't be limited to multicultural education or simply a means to access the field of experiencing the arts, but should be expanded to include research in teaching and learning on how cultural empathy can be applied to the overall educational curriculum.

The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation among Cultural empathy, Multicultural sensitivity, and Cultural competence of Nursing Students. Data were collected using questionnaires from 191 nursing students who were in 2rd and 4^th year of the college in D city. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. The mean score of Cultural empathy, Multicultural sensitivity and Cultural competence in nursing students were 3.72±0.23, 3.14±0.27, and 3.10±0.32 respectively. Cultural empathy showed significant positive correlations with Multicultural sensitivity(r=.63, p<.001), and Cultural competence(r=.57, p<.001). Multicultural sensitivity was also positively correlated with Cultural competence(r=.41, p<.001). The result of this study suggest that multicultural nursing education is necessary for students to develop and support programs that can provide diverse cultural experiences.

This study investigated effects of college students' multicultural contacts on multicultural competency. This study also examined mediating effects of perspective taking and prejudice. Multicultural contacts were divided into quality of contacts and quantity of contacts. Effects of quality and quantity of contacts on multicultural competency through perspective taking and prejudice were separately analyzed using two models. For the purpose, 642 Korean college students completed the questionnaires including multicultural contacts, multicultural competency, perspective taking, prejudice and demographic information. The results indicate that both quality and quantity of contacts are associated with multicultural competency, but quality of contacts are more strongly associated with multicultural competency. Also, perspective taking and prejudice mediate the relationship between quality of contacts and multicultural competency while mediators did not mediate the relationship between quantity of contacts and multicultural competency. The results indicate that intimate and positive contacts with outgroup members help enhance college students' multicultural competency through increased perspective taking and prejudice reduction. Future multicultural education for undergraduate students should focus on increasing the quality of multicultural contacts and help them with perspective taking, and reducing prejudice.

This study examines current practices of the multicultural services in public library and offers directions for improvement in the multicultural society. For this, this study is set up the list of the multicultural services on the basis of the plans and the announcements about multicultural services of an international organization. Moreover, researchers analysed the multicultural services of Incheon Jungang Library. The results of this study are as follows. They proposed the improvement of the multicultural services of a public library as the changes of cognition of the multicultural services, training for professional manpower, program for intercultural understanding, accessibility to information, etc.
