The system performance of naval multi function radar is affected by radar beam operation. Multi f function radar has to operate complicated beam better than search radar and tracking radar which have single operation. This paper describes fabricating analysis tool for the verification method for system performance of naval multi function radar. We composed the model that naval ship with MFR and radar which are detecting targets to verification the system performance. The targets are composed anti-aircraft and anti-ship. We integrate each model and make naval MFR simulator that applied resource management of track beam and search beam. We verify analysis tool by simulation in operating scenario after adjusting system parameter to analysis tool.

AESA radar is able to instantaneously and adaptively position and control the beam, and such adaptive beam pointing of AESA radar enables to remarkably improve the multi-mission capability, compared with mechanically scanned array radar. AESA radar brings a new challenges, radar resource management(RRM), which is a technique efficiently allocating finite resources, such as energy and time to each task in an optimal and intelligent way. Especially radar beam scheduling is the most critical component for the success of RRM. In this paper, we proposed the several dispatching rules for radar beam scheduling, and compared the performance on the multi-function radar scenario. We also showed that the dispatching rule which differently applying SPF(Shortest Processing time First) and ERF(Earliest Request time First) according to beam processing latency is the most efficient.
In this paper, the microwave absorbing characteristics after the impact of the radar-absorbing structure (RAS) consisting of periodic pattern sheet (PPS) and glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GFRP) were experimentally investigated. The fabricated RAS effectively absorbed the microwave in the X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz). In order to induce the damage to the RAS, a low-velocity impact test with various impact energy of 15, 40, and 60 J was conducted. Afterward, the impact damage was observed by using visual inspection, non-destructive test, and image processing method. Moreover, the absorbing performance of intact and damaged RAS was measured by the free-space measurement system. The experiment results revealed that the delamination damage from the impact energy of 15 J did not considerably affect the microwave absorbing performance of the RAS. However, fiber breakage and penetration damage with a relatively large damaged area were occuured when the impact energy was increased up to 40 J and 60 J, and these failures significantly degraded the microwave absorbing characteristics of the RAS.

The Naval Combat System has several equipment needed to operate the system, such as radar equipment, underwater sensor equipment, guns and missile control and armed control equipment, and a multi function console is configured to control it. The multi function console is equipped with HCI(Human Computer Interaction)-based software for displaying the status information of equipment and controlling equipment, and the operator uses the installed software to operate the Naval Combat System. However, when operating a Naval Combat System for a long time, there are problems such as physical discomfort caused by the structure of the multi function console display and increase in fatigue of the person who operates various and complicated user interface configuration. These issues are important factors in reducing Naval Combat System operability. In order to solve these issues, in this paper, based on a questionnaire survey conducted for Naval Combat System development personnel, multi function console screen design to reduce physical discomfort and HCI design to reduce fatigue and increase intuition are proposed. The proposed design is expected to provide convenience to future Naval Combat System operators and improve operation over existing Naval Combat System.

Radar receiving echo signal provides target information - range, velocity and position by signal magnitude and Doppler shift, which are determined by target reflection characteristics and target maneuver. Target angle error is extracted from the magnitude ratio of difference channel to sum channel. In this paper, we introduce a radar Return Signal Simulation Equipment(RSSE) which is implemented for the purpose of performance analysis and evaluation of phased array multi-function radar(MFR). It generates multi-target environment with jamming signals using MC-DDS (Multi-Channel Direct Digital Synthesis), and has scalability by using the efficient hardware configuration. The performance of the developed RSSE has been evaluated under various test environments. Especially, we proved that required target detection performance is achieved by RSP(Radar Signal Processor) interfaced RSSE configuration.

Active phased array antenna structure is used for modern multi-function radars. To search targets in high clutter environment, the radar receiver needs high dynamic range performance. Though active phased array antenna structure lead to increase of SNR, the SFDR is not increased. In this paper, high SFDR receiver of X-band active phased array radar was designed and manufactured. One channel digital receiver is connected to 32 T/R modules and one PCB assembly is composed to 2 channel digital receivers with RF part, ADC part, LO distribution part and digital down conversion part. A commercial FIFO board was used for digital receiver measurement about major performance in digital output signal condition. The measured digital receiver gain and SFDR is 33 dB and more than 81 dBc each.

A monopulse feeder gives the most important impact upon the radiation pattern characteristics of a multi-function radar or a tracking radar which uses the space feed. It is described that the triple-mode type monopulse feeder which possesses the optimum aperture illumination for three monopulse channels is designed and measured in this paper. The measured results show that the designed feeder has not only the characteristics of the optimum aperture illimination in each channel and also very low return loss over the 10 % of fractional bandwidth at X-band. This means that the feeder provides the antenna system with low sidelobe level and high monopulse slope characteristics.

For conventional AESA radars, DC-DC power modules using 300 Vdc have low efficiency, high volume, heavy weight, and high price, which have problems in modularity with T/R module groups. In this paper, to improve these problems, we propose a distributed DC-DC power module with high-voltage 800 Vdc and high-efficiency Step-down Converter. In particular, power requirements for modern and future marine weapons systems and sensors are rapidly evolving into high-energy and high-voltage power systems. The power distribution of the next generation Navy AESA radar antenna is under development with 1000 Vdc. In this paper, the proposed highvoltage, high-efficiency DC-DC power modules increase space(size), weight, power and cooling(SWaP-C) margins, reduce integration costs/risk, and reduce maintenance costs. Reduced system weight and higher reliability are achieved in navy and ground AESA systems. In addition, the proposed architecture will be easier to scale with larger shipboard radars and applicable to other platforms.
Radars are used to detect the motion of the low flying enemy planes in the military. Radar-detected raw data are first processed and then inserted into the ground tactical C4I system. Next, these data we analyzed and broadcasted to the Shooter system in real time. But the accuracy of information and time spent on the displaying and graphical computation are dependent on the operator's capability. In this paper, we propose the Flying Object Tracking Management System that allows the displaying of the objects' trails in real time by using data received from the radars. We apply the coordinate system translation algorithm, existing communication protocol improvements with communication equipment, and signal and information computation process. Especially, radar signal duplication computation and synchronization algorithm is developed to display the objects' coordinates and thus we can improve the Tactical Air control system's reliability, efficiency, and easy-of-usage.
