The purpose of this study was to explore the experience in cultural competence of multicultural counselors working with female immigrants by marriage. In-depth interviews, followed by a phenomenological analysis, were conducted on 10 multicultural counselors. 6 themes were emerged from data analysis: facing difficulties due to linguistic and cultural differences, feeling doubts about self and one's ability, reflecting self, putting efforts to learn other cultures and groups, realizing changes, and feeling insecure still. 3 categories appeared from the 6 themes above: difficulties, efforts to change, and change and limitations. Based on the results, social work suggestions for increasing cultural competence of multicultural counselors were discussed.

The aims of this research are to grasp the supporting volition of the government as increasing multicultural family and discussing direction of the work and program for them. Therefore, this article inquired into the structure and the view through the supporting the law in 2008 and policy in 2009 of multicultural family and the contents of the work and program divided into the fields of essentiality and speciality for the multicultural family support center. As a result, this article implied three directions ; first, the practicality of contents based on the needs and requirement of multicultural family, second, the connection of multicultural family life cycle based on circumstances and resources, third, the mutual direction of effect based on promoting the character of a nation between multicultural family and others.

The purpose of this study is to figure out the multicultural library services that reflects the unique socio-cultural characteristics of Korea. The Korean libraries have accomplished very prompt adaptations and unquestioning acceptance of the western model, although Korean conditions are totally different from the western. Under these circumstances, this study intends to critically analyze the multucultural library services, based on a thorough investigation of the American libraries' experiences. As a result, this study suggests the proper answers which can be applied to the present Korean library situation. The data for discussion were collected by literature survey, direct observation of American public libraries, and interviews or e-mails with American librarians.

VoIP (Voice over IP) is a technology to transport video and voice traffic over IP networks such as Internet. Today, the VoIP technology is viewed as the right choice for providing voice, video, and data communication among various terminals over the next generation network. This paper discusses a multipoint VoIP implementation with end-point mixing model which can support multipoint conference without a conference bridge. The multipoint VoIP is implemented with SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), and supports STUN (Simple Traversal of UDP Through NATs) since it works in an asymmetric NAT (Network Address Translator) environment. The characteristics of this paper are as follows. It is possible that all terminals in the hierarchical conference don't receive the duplicated media information because we use the end-point mixing model with the new media processing module. And, the paper solves the problem that the hierarchical conference session should be separated into several sessions when a mixing terminal terminates the hierarchical conference session.

The purpose of research is to find out the factors that affects multi cultural acceptance of parents' child rearing behavior of elementary school students and psychological well-being. In order to accomplish the purpose, survey was conducted on 328 elementary school students in the city of I. The results were first, parents' child rearing behavior of elementary school students, psychological well-being and multi-cultural acceptance didn't have difference by background variables. Second, significant relationship was present on parents' child rearing behavior of elementary school students, psychological well-being and multi cultural acceptance, Third, parents' child rearing behavior of elementary school students and psychological well-being have positive impact on multi-cultural acceptance. As seen in such results, in order to achieve effective acceptance on multi culture in regular household, the awareness and attitude on parents' child rearing behavior and feeling of psychological well-being need to change and that will have positive impact to live together for students from regular household and multi culture household as a member of multi culture society.

This study was a descriptive study performed to identify factors affecting medical satisfaction in multicultural members. The survey participants were 301 multicultural members in A city. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Independent t-tests, One-way ANOVA, and Stepwise multiple regression analysis with the SPSS 14.0 program. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that the predictors of satisfaction among the medical staff were satisfaction with age and health insurance, which accounted for 28% of all variance. Predictors of satisfaction with the medical environment were age and jobs, which accounted for 17% of all variance. Predictors of satisfaction with medical expenses were multicultural form, educational level, and jobs, which accounted for 33% of all variance. These results suggest that we need to develop and implement strategies and programs that can enhance satisfaction with medical use among multicultural members.

The number of Multi-cultural Background Adolescent increases every year. It is necessary to show their growing environment in which they are brought up. So this study tries to have a questionnaire research with 588 adolescents and an focus group-interview with 8 service professionals In conclusion, this study suggests developing supplemental programs, supporting systems such as the person participation in the step of the program planning, the community organization networking, professional placement, providing integration service and training program in a family unit.

In the 21th century, world citizens have more chances to meet and interact with people from different cultural or ethnic backgrounds than ever before. It is therefore inevitable that multiculturalism has become one of the integral part of music education. Educators in every field should make conscious efforts to provide opportunities and experiences for students so that they can adequately cope with these culturally diverse encounters. This study is to grasp the current state of multicultural education in the teacher education program in Korea and America. Also it is aimed to figure out the current multicultural music course offerings available for undergraduate music education majors at the selected 10 American Universities. It is expected that this study may suggest an idea of multicultural-world music education in teacher education.

This study shows whether the 14-week picture story reading program offered to the multi-cultural women has effects on encouraging their confidence. As a result of the study, (1) this program helped them to have confidence in reading Korean books. (2) However, it did not help them raise confidence in themselves. (3) This story reading program offered a lot of factors to help them have confidence in living in Korea. (4) The women had dreams, but they did not have enough confidence and information to make their dreams come true. Based on these results, this study suggests that libraries should provide multi-cultural women with bibliotherapy programs, multi-cultural community groups and classes for multi-cultural house wives, and information literacy programs through picture story books to help make their lives in Korea easier.

The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between violence damage experience and mental health of multicultural youths in Korea, and to use it as a basic data in developing mental health promotion interventions for multicultural youths. This study is a secondary data analysis based on the 2018 Youth Health Behavior Survey. Data analysis is based on IBM 25 ver. SPSS was used and logistic regression analysis was performed using complex samples. As a result of this study, factors affecting the mental health characteristics of multicultural youths in general are violent damage experience, gender, and subjective health. Suicide plans and suicide attempts were high. Although this study is a secondary data analysis study, it is difficult to grasp the school violence damage and mental health causality.
