Mg2NiHx-CaO 수소 저장 복합물질의 물질 전과정 평가 (Material Life Cycle Assessments on Mg2NiHx-CaO Composites)

  • With rapid industrialization and population growth, fossil fuel use has increased, which has a significant impact on the environment. Hydrogen does not cause contamination in the energy production process, so it seems to be a solution, but it is essential to find an appropriate storage method due to its low efficiency. In this study, Mg-based alloys capable of ensuring safety and high volume and hydrogen storage density per weight was studied, and Mg2NiHx synthesized with Ni capable of improving hydrogenation kinetics. In addition, in order to improve thermal stability, a hydrogen storage composite material synthesized with CaO was synthesized to analyze the change in hydrogenation reaction. In order to analyze the changes in the metallurgical properties of the materials through the process, XRD, SEM, BET, etc. were conducted, and hydrogenation behavior was confirmed by TGA and hydrogenation kinetics analysis. In addition, in order to evaluate the impact of the process on the environment, the environmental impact was evaluated through "Material Life Cycle Assessments" based on CML 2001 and EI99' methodologies, and compared and analyzed with previous studies. As a result, the synthesis of CaO caused additional power consumption, which had a significant impact on global warming, and further research is required to improve this.

  • 스트론튬(90Sr)과 니켈(59Ni)은 처분안전성평가에서 중요하게 다루는 핵종들이다. 지하에서 방사성핵종의 이동을 저지하기 위한 다양한 시도가 이루어지고 있는데, 처분시스템에서 용기와 부식반응으로 생기는 광물들 중에 핵종들과 반응성이 뛰어난 광물들이 존재하는 것이 알려졌다. 이들 중에서 철-황화합광물인 맥키나와이트(FeS)를 선정하여 스트론튬, 니켈과 수착실험을 하였다. 심부지하에서 환원 알카리 환경을 고려하여, pH 8 ~ 12까지 조건에서 pH에 따른 수착영향을 살펴보았다. 실험결과, 스트론튬은 낮은 알카리영역에서 수착능이 저조하였지만, 니켈은 전 실험영역에서 높은 수착능을 보였다. 또, 두 핵종 모두 알카리 조건에서 pH가 증가할수록 수착량(Kd)이 증가하였는데, 이는 pH가 증가하면서 풍부해진 OH-이온이 광물표면에 수소나 양이온과 결합해 탈착하면서 광물표면에 전기음성도가 증가해 양이온인 스트론튬과 니켈을 전기적 인력으로 끌어당기기 때문으로 여겨진다.

니켈-수소저장합금전지 음극의 방전특성에 미치는 성형첨가제의 영향 (Effect of the compacting additives on the Discharge Characteristics of the Negative Electrode for Ni-MH Battery)

  • Negative electrode was prepared by mixing $Ti_{0.7}Zr_{0.3}Cr_{0.3}Mn_{0.3}V_{0.6}Ni_{0.8}$ alloy powder with copper or nickel powder and pressing in the air. The cycled electrodes were analyzed with SEM, potentiostat and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It was found that the Cu-compacted electrode showed better low temperature dischargeability and higher rate capability than Ni-compacted electrode. From SEM analysis of the cycled electrode compacted with copper powder, it was observed that the surface of MH particles was covered with copper grains and whisker precipitated from electrolyte after dissolution during cell test. It is found that the improved electrode characteristics are attributed to the copper layer on MH particles deposited by dissolution and precipitation(DP) process.

촉매연소를 이용한 수소버너의 작동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study about an Operating Characteristic of Hydrogen Burner by Using Catalytic Combustion)

  • Human has faced in lack of fossil fuel and environmental crisis because of high population growth and development of industry. Hydrogen, unlimited amount and clean resource from water electrolysis, is remarkably known as the solution of recent energy crisis. One of the special characteristics of hydrogen is that a little amount of catalytic such as platinum and palladium makes nonflammable combustion, in other words catalyst combustion. Catalytic combustion fueled by hydrogen is environmentally friendly. This paper considers some comparisons of characteristic of catalytic combustion between a single layer of platinum catalyst, double layer of platinum and nickel catalysts and mixture of platinum and nickel catalysts. Some experiments of temperature distribution at different positions and characteristic of combustion in low temperature region were done in order to find an applicable possibility as a house-cooking burner.

  • 합성천연가스(SNG: Synthetic Natural Gas)를 얻기 위해, 석탄 가스화로부터 얻은 합성가스는 일반적으로 수소와 일산화탄소의 비가 3.0($H_2$/CO)이 되도록 수성가스전환(WGS)반응을 거친 후 메탄화반응기로 유입되며, 가능하면 낮은 온도에서 메탄 전환율이 높은 메탄화 반응의 특성상 강한 발열반응이 수반되므로 이를 낮추는 것이 중요하다. 또한, 최종생성물내의 메탄 농도를 높이기 위해 WGS 이후 탈황과 동시에 이산화탄소를 제거하기 위한 공정이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 정제된 합성가스의 WGS와 이산화탄소 제거가 생략된 공정을 개발하기 위해, 상업용 촉매에 대하여 수소의 농도가 낮은 합성가스를 이용하여 스팀과 이산화탄소에 대한 메탄화반응 특성을 평가하였다. 또한, 이산화탄소의 존재여부에 따라 스팀으로 메탄화반응과 WGS가 동시에 일어날 수 있는 최적의 운전조건을 얻고자 하였다.

Mg2Ni 박막 전극의 전기화학적 특성에 미치는 열처리의 효과 (Effect of Heat Treatment of Mg2Ni Thin Film Electrode on the Electrochemical Properties)

  • Ni/MH 박막전지의 전극으로 사용될 수 $Mg_{2}Ni$박막을 스퍼터링방법으로 제조하였다. $Mg_{2}Ni$합금박막은 Mg, Ni타?을 이용하여 동시에 스퍼터링함으로서 제조하였다. KOH 액체전해질 및 $Ni(OH)_2$전극을 이용하여 전기화학실험을 하였다. $Mg_2Ni$ 박막의 초기 싸이클 특성에 미치는 열처리 효과를 조사하기 위하여, $200-550^{\circ}C$로 변화시키면서 진공중에서 열처리를 하였다. 열처리온도가 $300^{\circ}C$ 이하에서는 초기방전용량이 증가하였으며, $400^{\circ}C$ 열처리시에는 활성화시의 방전용량이 약 160mAh/g으로 가장 크게 나타났다.

3D-IR Matrix 버너 개질기를 활용한 모사 바이오가스 수증기 개질 연구 (The Study of Steam Reforming for Model Bioigas using 3D-IR Matrix Burner Reformer)

  • The use of biogas as an energy source reduces the chance of possible emission of two greenhouse gases, $CH_4$ and $CO_2$, into the atmosphere at the same time. Its nature of being a reproducible energy source makes its use even more attractive. This research if for the hydrogen production through the steam reforming of the biogas. The biogas utilized 3D-IR matrix burner in which the surface combustion is applied. The nickel catalyst was used inside a reformer. Parametric screening studies were achieved as Steam/Carbon ratio, biogas component ratio, Space velocity and Reformer temperature. When the condition of Steam/Carbon ratio, $CH_4/CO_2$ ratio, Space velocity and Refomer temperature were 3.25, 60%:40%, 19.32L/$g{\cdot}hr$ and $700^{\circ}C$ respectively, the hydrogen concentration and methane conversion rate were showed maximum values. Under the condition mentioned above, $H_2$ concentration was 73.9% and methane conversion rate was 98.9%.

친핵성 용매 중에서 자발적 환원반응에 의한 음이온 교환막 수전해용 Fe/Ni 나노 촉매의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation and Characterization of Fe/Ni Nanocatalyst in a Nucleophilic Solvent for Anion Exchange Membrane in Alkaline Electrolysis)

  • To synthesize Fe/Ni nanocatalysts loaded on carbon black, Iron(II) acetylacetonate and nickel (II) acetylacetonate and were reduced to Fe and Ni metallic nanoparticles by a spontaneous reduction reaction. The distribution of the Fe and Ni nanoparticles was observed by transmission electron microscopy, and the loading weight of Fe/Ni nanocatalysts on the carbon black was measured by thermogravimetric analyzer. The elemental ratio of Fe and Ni was estimated by energy dispersive x-ray analyzer. It was found that the loading weight of Fe/Ni nanoparticles was 6.23 wt%, and the elemental ratio of Fe and Ni was 0.53:0.40. Specific surface area was measured by BET analysis instrument and I-V characteristics were estimated.

Ni-Pt 나노 촉매의 혼합비가 음이온 교환막 수전해 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Mixture Ratio of Ni-Pt Nanocatalysts on Water Electrolysis Characteristics in AEM System)

  • To study the effect of the mixture ratio of Ni-Pt nanocatalysts on water electrolysis characteristics in anion exchange membrane system, Ni-Pt nanocatalysts were loaded on carbon black by using a spontaneous reduction reaction of acetylacetonate compounds. The loading weight of Ni-Pt nanocatalysts on the carbon black was measured by thermogravimetric analyzer and the elemental ratio of Ni and Pt was estimated by energy dispersive x-ray analyzer. It was found that the loading weight of Ni-Pt nanoparticles was 5.36-5.95 wt%, and the loading weight increased with increasing Pt wt%. As the Ni-Pt loading weight increased, the specific surface area decreased, because Ni-Pt nanoparticles block the pores of carbon black. It was confirmed by BET analysis and dynamic vapor sorption analysis. I-V characteristics were estimated.

  • A reforming catalyst for hydrogen production from ammonia is being studied. Non-novel metal based Ni catalysts for use in ammonia reforming processes are being developed. In this study, the ammonia reforming characteristics according to Ni content of the alumina pellet supported catalyst in the mid-temperature region were investigated under different space velocity. 20 Ni and 3,000 h-1 showed the best catalytic activity with ammonia conversion of 63% among all conditions.
