Fluctuation of the sensitivity of Colletotrichum spp. causing the red-pepper anthracnose to chlorothalonil (살균제 chlorothalonil에 대한 고추 탄저병균의 감수성 변화)

  • Monitoring for the sensitivity of Colletotrichum spp. causing red-pepper anthracnose to chlorothalonil was conducted by the agar dilution method, which were isolated from infected pepper fruits in 1999 and 2002. Among the isolates in 1999 or 2002, their sensitivity to fungicide was fluctuated. Investigating the inhibitory effect of $500{\mu}g/m\ell$ of chlorothalonil on the mycelial growth of Colletotrichum isolates isolated from the infected red-pepper fruits in 1999, the frequency of isolates was 23.4%, which showed 100% of inhibitory effect on mycelial growth, and 29.7% showing below 60%. Isolates in 2002, however, showed 34.6% and 14.8% of inhibitory effect on PDAs including the same concentration of fungicide, respectively, These results showed that the sensitivity of Colletotrichum isolates in 1999 was inferior to that in 2002. According to the sampling region, isolation frequency among isolates in 2002 showing less MIC rather than 1999 was increased in Kyunggi, Kangwon, Kyungbuk and Kyungnam while the frequency of resistant isolates was done in Chungnam, Chungbuk, Cheonnam and Cheonbuk Fungicide monitoring results in this report will be of use on controlling the anthracnose in each region cultivating red-pepper.

Effects of Repetitive using Lime Bordeaux Mixture in the Copper Concentration of the Soil and Ginseng Root (석회보르도액 반복 사용이 토양과 인삼 체내 구리농축에 미치는 영향)

  • Three type of Lime Bordeaux mixture (LBM) that has been used since 1800's for control plant disease are used for eco-friendly ginseng (Panax ginseng) disease control. But it was restricted the use in the crops cultivation in some countries of Europe recently, because there is a possibility that the copper component is concentrated in the soil and plants with using LBM containing copper. According to the concentration and number of LBM spraying treatment, it was investigated copper and other components in soil and ginseng root. In case of LBM sprayed 33 times for three years, copper concentration was increased up to 75.9 ppm in the soil. However copper concentration of ginseng root was increased with 9.9~23.0 mg/kg in comparison with 8.38~11.39 mg/kg at LBM non-treatment. It has shown that the copper components can be concentrated to in the soil if used continuously in the long term.

Establishment of Pre-Harvest Residue Limits (PHRLs) of Fluopicolide and Metrafenone in Cherry Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) (방울토마토(Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) 생산단계에서 Fluopicolide 및 Metrafenone의 잔류허용기준 설정)

  • BACKGROUND: The present investigation was aimed to predict the pre-harvest residue limits (PHRLs) of the fluopicolide and metrafenone on cherry tomato and to estimate their half-life and characteristics of the residues.METHODS AND RESULTS: Pesticides were treated once on cherry tomato in field 1 and 2 under the standard application rate. The samples were collected 7 times at the end of 0(2 hours after pesticides spaying), 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10 days before harvest. Residues of fluopicolide and metrafenone were analyzed by the LC-MS/MS. In this study, the method limit of quantification (MLOQ) for both fluopicolide and metrafenone in cherry tomato was found to be 0.005 mg kg-1. Their recovery levels were 92.7∼94.8% and 82.6∼88.0%, shown with coefficient of variation of less than 10%. Half-life of fluopicolide and metrafenone in field 1 and 2 were found to be 15.0 days and 12.8 days, 18.9 days and 21.5 days, respectively.CONCLUSION: Based on the results, this study shows the level of PHRL on cherry tomato is 0.27 mg/kg for fluopicolide and 2.29 mg/kg for metrafenone at 10 days before harvesting. The present study indicates the residues of both pesticides on cherry tomato will be below maximum residue limit (MRL) at harvest.

Residue safety on ethephon in soybean leaf by drenching and foliar application (에테폰의 관주처리와 엽면살포에 의한 콩 잎 중 잔류 안전성)

  • Ethephon is useful pesticide as ethylene precursor, which is an efficient plant hormone to produce functional secondary metabolites. However, the residual safety of ethephon was not studied on various crops. In here, the dissipation pattern of ethephon residue in soybean leaf was investigated both on the foliar and drenching applications. The biological half-lives of ethephon residues were 26.6, and 21.1 h on the once, and double foliar applications, respectively. Although the residue after three days from the final application was up to $60.6mg\;kg^{-1}$, the residue was below the limit of quantitation on the dried soybean leaf. In addition, drenching application of ethephon could increase the residue up to $36.3mg\;kg^{-1}$ after 20.1 h from the application, however, the treatment would not affect to the total phenol content significantly (p >0.01).

  • 우리나라의 수질오염에 대한 규제는 주로 호소 및 하천의 수질을 향상시키기 위하여 하수 및 공장폐수 등 점오염원을 중심으로 관리되어 왔으나 강우와 함께 대량 유출된 비점오염원은 수용하천의 자정능력을 감소시키고 있고 이로 인해 하천과 호소의 수질은 향상되지 못하고 있다. 또한, 농촌지역에서 배출되는 비점오염원은 정확한 기작의 분석이 안 되고 있으며, 비료$\cdot$농약의 사용 증가에 따라 영양염 및 유해물질에 의한 수질오염의 영향이 증가되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 농촌지역의 강우-유출로 인한 비점오염물질의 유출특성 및 배출부하량을 조사하기 위하여 영산강권역의 외남천을 대상으로 조사하였다. 대상 유역의 토지용도 구분은 (1)논지역, (2)밭지역, (3)산지지역, (4)농촌주거지역, (5)복합지역(논, 산지)으로 구분하였다. 시료의 채취는 강우시 5회에 걸쳐 조사하였으며, 2L 용량의 무균채수병에 채취한 후, 아이스박스에 $4^{\circ}C$이하로 보관하여 24시간 이내로 실험실에 운반하여 실험하였으며, 매회 시료 채취 주기는 강우유출이 발생하기 전부터 강우 종료 후 유출량 변화가 없을 때까지 $9\~12$단계로 세분하여 유출량과 pH, DO, BOD, COD, SS, T-N, T-P의 농도를 측정하였다. 본 연구에서 조사한 결과 토지이용별 비점오염원의 SMC를 살펴보면 BOD의 SMC는 $4.38\~11.02mg/{\ell}$, COD의 SMC는 $7.07\~23.99mg/{\ell}$, T-N은 $1.57\~5.20mg/{\ell}$, T-P는 $0.11\~0.274mg/{\ell}$의 범위를 갖는 것으로 나타났으며, 전반적으로 논 지역에서 비교적 높게 나타났는데 이는 농작물의 경작에 따른 시비법의 영향으로 판단된다. 또한, 비점오염원의 유출특성을 보면 전반적으로 초기 오염물질 유출특성 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

A Comparison of the Methane Production and the Community Structure for Methanogens in Rice Paddy and Dry Field Farming Soils (논과 밭 토양의 메탄생성과 메탄생성세균의 군집 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the soil compositions, methane production, the number of methanogens, and the community structure of methanogens in rice paddy soils and dry field farming soils in the summer and autumn seasons. As a result of the analysis of soil compositions, any regular tendency to increase or decrease has not been found in most soil samples due to the change of seasons. It has also been found that more methanogens exist in the rice paddy soil that utilize organic farming practices and emptiness farming practices than in the dry field farming soil. The fewer numbers of methanogens utilizing the acetate have been found than those of the methanogens utilizing the hydrogen or the formate. In an experiment of methane production, the methanes increased for two weeks when the acetate was added, but they continued to increase for seven weeks more when the formate and the hydrogen were added. In the phylogenetic analysis using the mcrA gene, the methanogens had diverse clusters in the rice paddy soil, whereas the methanogens were concentrated only in a few clusters in the dry field farming soil.

  • The method for investigating the retention behavior and separation optimization was studied to develop a reversed-phase liquid chromatography of eleven thiocarbamates that are used as herbicides. As an isocratic elution system, the statistical simplex technique was applied to find the optimum separation conditions. The resolution was quantitatively evaluated by using COF and ORM method. For thiocarbamate herbicides in which the elution order varies dramatically with solvent composition, the ORM method gave better result than the COF method. For the solvent composition of mobile phase in the ORM method, the ratio of methanol : acetonitrile : tetrahydrofuran : water was 16 : 29 : 2 : 53. Also in this research, an adjusted COF $(\overline{COF})$ method was proposed to rectify the defect in the current COF method, and the compositional ratio of mobile phase containing methanol : acetonitrile : water was 29.5 : 21.5 : 49.0 result of which is similar to that obtained by the ORM method.

  • 2-Chloro-N-(Cyano-2-thienyl methyl) acetamide (CCTA) is an intermediate used for synthesizing pesticides. It is stable at room temperature and pressure but can be decomposed when heat is accumulated. In this study, the decomposition characteristics were evaluated by measuring the weight change according to temperature using a Thermogravimetry analyzer(TGA), and the thermal decomposition characteristics were evaluated using Differential Scanning Calorimeter(DSC). The exothermic decomposition reaction occurred rapidly at about 91 ℃, and the activation energy determined by using Kissinger method, Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose(KAS) method, and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa(FWO) method were 162 kJ/mol, 149 kJ/mol and 139 kJ/mol, respectively. TD24, the temperature at which the maximum heating rate is reached within 24 hours, was evaluated as 52~55 ℃ using the estimated activation energy.

  • This dissertation developed a five-story vertical livestock and fisheries farm (palm tower) model for sustainable food production in cities. It proposes to integrate marine farms, livestock raising, and pesticide-free automated crop farms to efficiently use resources and minimize environmental impact. Based on circular economy principles, the model can recycle the output of each part into resources from the other, increasing the efficiency of the system, utilizing idle space in the city, and promoting job creation and community participation. It can also contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of food production and improving food safety. In addition, the study explores how advanced agricultural technologies can be integrated into urban structures to address global food security challenges. This model presents potential solutions to the food crisis caused by climate change and population growth, and suggests a direction for the development of urban agriculture. Future research should address the technical and policy challenges for practical implementation.

Factors influencing the axes of anterior teeth during SWA on masse sliding retraction with orthodontic mini-implant anchorage: a finite element study (교정용 미니 임플랜트 고정원과 SWA on masse sliding retraction 시 전치부 치축 조절 요인에 관한 유한요소해석)

  • Objective: With development of the skeletal anchorage system, orthodontic mini-implant (OMI) assisted on masse sliding retraction has become part of general orthodontic treatment. But compared to the emphasis on successful anchorage preparation, the control of anterior teeth axis has not been emphasized enough. Methods: A 3-D finite element Base model of maxillary dental arch and a Lingual tipping model with lingually inclined anterior teeth were constructed. To evaluate factors influencing the axis of anterior teeth when OMI was used as anchorage, models were simulated with 2 mm or 5 mm retraction hooks and/or by the addition of 4 mm of compensating curve (CC) on the main archwire. The stress distribution on the roots and a 25000 times enlarged axis graph were evaluated. Results: Intrusive component of retraction force directed postero-superiorly from the 2 mm height hook did not reduce the lingual tipping of anterior teeth. When hook height was increased to 5 mm, lateral incisor showed crown-labial and root-lingual torque and uncontrolled tipping of the canine was increased.4 mm of CC added to the main archwire also induced crown-labial and root-lingual torque of the lateral incisor but uncontrolled tipping of the canine was decreased. Lingual tipping model showed very similar results compared with the Base model. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that height of the hook and compensating curve on the main archwire can influence the axis of anterior teeth. These data can be used as guidelines for clinical application.
