The subjects of the study were 32 elderly women and their consent to the study was obtained. The degree of obesity was classified by measuring body composition and physical activity levels were classified based on the questionnaire survey. Body composition factors and senior fitness levels were compared. Finally, the following conclusions were drawn. 1. The body composition factors according to the classification of the degree of obesity were significantly different in high blood pressure. Senior fitness was significantly different in 30-Second Chair Stand, Arm Curl, 2min Step Test, 8 Foot up and go. High degree of obesity was associated with decreased 30-Second Chair Stand, Arm Curl and 2min Step Test for senior fitness. 2. The body composition factors according to physical activity levels were significantly different in high blood pressure. Senior fitness was significantly different in 30-Second Chair Stand, Arm Curl, Chair Sit and Reach, 2min Step Test, 8 Foot up and go. High physical activity was associated with increased 30-Second Chair Stand, Arm Curl, Chair Sit and Reach, 2min Step Test, 8 Foot up and go for senior fitness.

This study investigated the relationship among gait variables and physical fitness variables for Korean elderly people. Two hundred elderly people aged 65 to 85, (100 men and 100 women) participated in this study. They performed senior fitness test consisting of 6 tests, 3 additional physical tests (vertical jump, one leg stand, and grip force), body composition measures, and gait test. The gait test used shoes having an inertia measurement device in the outer-soles. The results indicated that the stride length, 6-min walking, lean body mass, and dumbbell curls were significantly affected by age (the above 75 group vs. the below 75 group). Among 33 measured parameters, the principal component analysis (PCA) revealed five PCs such as gait characteristics, physical features, gait variability, and fitness levels. In addition, the correlation analysis showed that the preferred walking speed was significantly, positively associated with stride length and single support time, whereas it was negatively associated with double support time and gait variability.(Ed note: please confirm my modification) In conclusion, sarcopenia should be avoided in elderly people, and resistance exercise is highly recommended to help elderly people maintain their gait ability.
The purpose of this study was to improve the physical strength through the application of the recreation combined exercise program for elderly women. The subjects of this study were consisted of 20 elderly women were 75 year ~ 88 year. The recreation combined exercise program was executed 50 minute a day, 3times a week for 8 weeks. The result was significantly improved in terms of the grip strength, sit to stand, timed up & go, one leg with eyes opened, sit and reach, 4.6meter fast walking speed. Therefore, recreation combined exercise program expect that it was helpful for the elderly women in terms of physical strength.

The subjects of this study were 463 people aged 65 and older in the senior welfare center in Seoul and Gyeonggi. The purpose of the study is to analyze the differences between physical fitness factors and cognitive functions, activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, and psychological variables in the participation of the elderly in physical activities. Data ware analyzed by frequency analysis, reliability analysis, independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation analysis, with SPSS 25.0 statistics program. The results of this study are as follows. First, there are statistically significant differences in physical fitness, cognitive function, activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, and psychological factors such as depression and quality of life, depending on whether the elderly participate in physical activity. There were statistically significant differences in physical fitness, cognitive function, ADL, IADL, depression and quality of life, depending on the frequency of participation of older people in physical activity. A statistically significant difference in physical fitness appeared depending on the participation time of the elderly who participated in physical activity. Second, a study of the correlation between physical fitness and cognitive function, ADL, IADL, depression, and quality of life revealed a correlation for most factors. Based on these research results, it is necessary to develop a systematic arbitration strategy including physical activity for the successful aging of the elderly and the independent life of old age.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the health factors of the elderly according to the region by analyzing the physical fitness and fall efficacy of the female elderly living in rural and urban areas. The subjects of this study consisted of 98 female elderly people living in rural and urban areas who exercise health and cheerleading at least twice a week at the regional center(REG; n=46, 77.53±6.37 yrs, 151.81±5.26 cm, 60.00±9.42 kg, UEG; n=53, 73.57±2.70 yrs, 154.07±3.52 cm, 57.37±2.06 kg). Physical strength was measured for muscular endurance, cardiopulmonary endurance, and flexibility. Falling efficacy was measured using 10 items of Fall Efficacy Scale developed by Tinetti et al. Significant differences in flexibility and fall efficacy were found in urban older adults (p<.01, p<.05). There was no significant difference in muscular endurance and cardiac endurance (p>.05). In the future, studies to improve the imbalance of health factors of the elderly in the region should be continuously conducted.
The purpose of this study was to observe self-reliance fitness and growth hormones in obese elderly women. Twenty-four females over the age of 65 years, who did not exercise regularly, were chosen as test subjects. All subjects were evaluated pre- and post-test. The results of this study were as follows; Results related to the experimental group revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores pre- and post-test in self-reliance fitness. Results related to the experimental group revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores pre- and post-test in growth hormone. Overall, participation in a 12-week combined exercise program had a positive impact on the self-reliance fitness and growth hormone in the obese elderly women. Based on the results of this study, obese elderly women are encouraged to participate in a combined exercises program on a regular basis.

The subjects of this study were 385 people who voluntarily participated in the elderly welfare center in Gyeonggi and Seoul the elderly people. As for the data collection methods, were measured the characteristics, depression and quality of life, cognitive function questionnaires along with measures of lower and upper body strength, dynamic equilibrium and agility, total endurance and grip strength. As a result, the first was a statistically significant correlation between integrated health of the elderly, cognitive function, quality of life and depression. Second, the analysis of cognitive function, elderly integrated health, quality of life, and depression revealed statistical significance among all variables. Third, there was the partial intervention effect of function in the quality of life and depression of the elderly.

The exercise groups performed 50 min, 3 times/week for 8 weeks at RPE 11-13. Low body strength, dynamic balance, static balance, and agility were significantly improved in all exercise groups after the intervention. Cardiovascular endurance was improved in aerobic and combined exercise groups. Consequently, any types of exercise could be improved the daily living fitness for elderly women if exercise intensity were the same. In addition, the combined exercise may be more suitable type of exercise for elderly.

Based on the findings, the elderly's life habits according to metabolic syndrome had a difference in smoking, drinking and drug, and dietary life and senior fitness had a significant difference in muscle strength, flexibility, and endurance. Thus, the elderly need the methods for exercise habits and stress relief for healthy life.
