The purpose of this study was to identify the crisis perception of the existence on home support service for older people and to make policy and practical suggestions for the workers who provide the on home support service for older people. For data collection, in-depth interviews were conducted by sampling four voluntary participants recommended by the Korea Association of Community Care For The Elderly 00city in the metropolitan area. As a result of the analysis, the main crisis-related factors of the home support service center for older people were found to be three: psychological, policy, and role. First, in terms of policy, not only could they not actively accept policy changes, but there were limits to their efforts for change. Second, in the psychological aspect, identity confusion and negative perception in the community. Third, in terms of roles, there was a disappointment in the active roles and support of institutions, corporations, and associations.

This study is a descriptive research study to identify osteoporosis knowledge and osteoporosis prevention activities among care providers in nursing home. The subjects were 142 care providers in S and Y city. The Data were collected from July 1 to July 20, 2019, and analyzed SPSS 24.0 Version. The result showed that the osteoporosis knowledge of among care providers was moderate. It showed differences in educational status, osteoporosis management training experience, residents number and importance awareness of elderly bone health. And prevention activities differed according to osteoporosis management training experience and importance awareness of elderly bone health. There was a positive correlation between knowledge and prevention activities of osteoporosis. Therefore, it is necessary to develop education programs for the management of elderly osteoporosis and to raise importance awareness of elderly bone health among care providers in nursing home. Further studies are needed to evaluate the effects of the program.

This study is to research the comprehensive recognition of male elderly about the sex life in old age. We collected data through face to face interview after obtaining the consents of 13 male elderly over 65 years old who reside in Kimhae Gyeongnam and Busan. The result of study showed that the sexual recognition of male elderly participants include the core concept of , , < the sex with restriction> and . In other words, the male elderly recognized the sexual life of old age as a natural and instinctive thing, the restrictions still exist including the negative recognition of family and surrounding people and diseases but it is found that the improvement of social recognition about sexual desire, the sex education and aggressive support for the various solutions are required. As the sexual awareness of the elderly is the comprehensive and broad study, the amalgamative and integrated study should be continued in the various fields. Through this, we tried to suggest the basic documents to the effective and differentiated individual sex consultation based on the empirical characteristics and desire of male elderly, and customized sex education and the development of local society program.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of empathy in relation to contact experience of the elderly and their knowledge level of ageing. For this study data was collected from 20th Dec. to 30th of Dec. 2018 355 university students from D university in J. province were surveyed. Data was analysis by using reliability test, correlation analysis, hierarchical multiful regression analysis. The statistical significance of the mediating effects was confirmed by Sobel's verification. The results of the analysis showed that the partial mediation effect of empathy was verified with regard to the relationship between elderly contact experience and discrimination of elderly people. In addition, the partial mediation effect of empathy was verified between level of aging knowledge and the perception of elderly discrimination. The results of this study confirmed the necessity of developing practical education and training programs to improve the level of aging knowledge and to increase contact experience with elderly people. There is also a need to enhance empathy in order to improve the awareness of discrimination against elderly people in health and welfare departments among university students.

This study examined the relationship between leisure needs and perception of psycho-social aging among 1307 older adults aged over 60 years utilizing social services of a social welfare center for senior citizens in Seoul, Korea. A convenience sample of this study was collected for three weeks in December 2012 among older adults via paper survey. Hierarchical multiple regression was utilized to analyze collected data. The present study demonstrated that age, years of education, perception of health status, and perception of economic status were significantly associated with perception of successful aging. However, years of education and perception of economic status were no longer significantly associated with perception of psycho-social aging, when leisure needs was included. Age, perception of health status, and hobbies/entertainment activities and employment/plan of later years activities among types of leisure needs were significantly associated with perception of psycho-social aging. This finding demonstrates that leisure needs influence perception of psycho-social aging. Implications and suggestions to improve perception of psycho-social aging among older adults are discussed.

The purpose of this study is to examined the relationship between social support, self-rated health status and life satisfaction among elderlies with chronic disease. For this study, 228 respondents suffered from chronic diseases and 75 healthy elderlies aged over 65 were analyzed. For the data analysis, a structural equation analysis and multi-group analysis were performed. As a result, higher levels of social support for elderlies with chronic diseases showed a higher level of life satisfaction, and the self-rated health status was found to be a significant mediator. The social support of the elderlies with chronic diseases significantly impacted their self-rated health status differently on healthy elderlies. To improve the self-rated health status and life satisfaction of elderlies with chronic disease, social services should be offered with social support providers. This study is meaningful in suggesting selective implications for elderlies with chronic disease.

This study aimed to validate the Awareness of Age-Related Change (AARC) scale developed by Brothers et al. (2019) for the Korean elderly. This study took the elderly people in Seoul (over 65 years old) as participants to examine the aging perception of the elderly themselves. For this purpose, we conducted exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses (EFA, CFA) with two samples (sample 1: N = 185; sample 2: N = 215). EFA revealed and CFA confirmed a two-factor structure consisting of awareness of gains and awareness of losses. Specifically, the awareness of losses had two subfactors consisting of awareness of losses in health and awareness of losses in non-health, while the awareness of gains had no subfactor. Finally, we examined the relationship between AARC, attitudes toward own aging, and emotions then discussed the implication, limitations of this study, and future direction.

본 연구에서는 한국 인구의 노인층의 증가에 인하여 높아진 노인들의 건강에 관심도 높아지고 있으며 보완대체요법은 오랜 역사적 배경을 가지고 있으나 민간 요법으로만 인식되어 활용되고 있는 보완대체요법은 노인병 예방과 치료에 도움을 줄 수 있으므로 현재 노인층에서의 보완대체요법의 사용 현황을 분석해서 추후 활용방안을 찾고자 한다.

This study was designed to analyze the perceptions of 4 and 5 years old children on the elderly, and how different the perceptions were according to the experience of living with grandparents. The subjects of the study were 54 children, 4 and 5 years old K kindergarten in H city. In the procedure of study, the children were asked to draw pictures of the elderly images, and individual interviews. The findings as follows. firstly, that the most positive perception of the children on the elderly was family-relationship and the most negative perception was physical feature. Secondly, Images for the elderly did not differ according to the experience of living with a grandparent. Based on these results, this study provides the basis for the research on understanding culture and communication between generations and gives useful information on developing of a generation program.
