The data collection was conducted on 320 ordinary people living in J-do through a questionnaire, and sought to understand the operational status of in-depth interview institutions for the heads and employees of six center. As a result of the analysis, a potential user's ware not aware of the functions and specific roles of day care center, the cost of facilities was covered by the government, and that facilities and the environment were important factors when using the center. In-depth interviews show that the current policy or system is far from reality and does not fit the status or role of the workers and the operational status of the agency, requiring the re-establishment of the on-site system. Based on the research results, the development direction of day care facilities requires active promotion and strengthening of family support for improving and enhancing awareness of day care facilities to citizens at the national level. Second, the quality of nursing services should be enhanced through improvements in facilities and the environment that reflect users' needs. Third, The government should improve the quality of nursing services by improving the poor employment conditions and treatment of workers to fit the reality.

The subjects were 140 elders with dementia residing in three nursing facilities in Chungnam, South Korea. Data were collected from May 30 to September 30 in 2016, using questionnaires. The collected data were tested by t-test, ANOVA, correlation, regression analysis. The malnutritional status of elders with dementia in facilities was high in the high-risk group (84, 60.0%), and the nutritional status was appeared to be related to sex, long-term care grade, Korean version-Activities of Daily Living and feeding difficulty and cognitive function. As a result of multiple regression analysis, significant influence variables on malnutritional status were Activities of Daily Living(${\beta}=0.379$, p=.001), feeding difficulty(${\beta}=0.264$, p=.001), cognitive function(${\beta}=-0.187$, p=.014) and these variables showed an explanatory power of 35.9% on malnutritional status. • This study was conducted with the purpose of suggesting alternatives for the efficient operation of senior day care facilities in 22 cities and counties in the Jeonnam region by analyzing the efficiency of senior day care facilities. The analysis data for the study used the National Health Insurance Corporation's long-term care insurance for the elderly (2022), the Input variables were the number of facilities, the number of workers, the number of affordable, and the number of senior long-term care insurance recipients and the Output variables were the the number of users. As a result of the analysis, CCR was most efficient in Goheung-gun, Gokseong-gun, Gwangyang-si, Boseong-gun, Yeongam-gun, and Jindo-gun, BCC was most efficient in Goheung-gun, Gokseong-gun, Gwangyang-si, Gurye-gun, Damyang-gun, Boseong-gun, and Jindo-gun, and SE was most efficient in that order: Jindo-gun, Gokseong-gun, and Gwangyang-si. It turned out to be a super efficient area. In the contribution analysis, the number of affordable and workers variables were found to be variables that had a large impact on efficiency contribution. In the improvement potential analysis, the number of facilities variable was found to be a variable that had a significant impact on efficiency. Therefore, for the efficient operation of senior day care facilities, we suggest adjusting supply and demand, such as the number of facilities and affordable, and suggest that training programs to strengthen the expertise of workers who contribute greatly are required.

  • The study aims to examine the knowledge and awareness of care workers on oral health knowledge at the geriatric care facilities in order to improve and develop oral health services. For the research method, the study carried out a questionnaire survey to 163 care workers working at the geriatric care facilities (10) in D Metropolitan City from May 1~31, 2015 and then the collected data were statistically analyzed. As a result, the oral health knowledge of care workers was 20.09 points out of total 26 points (77.2%). The highest knowledge was 'proper toothbrushing method' with 93.0% and the lowest one was 'knowledge on the use of oral supplementary goods' with 58.1%. Those with experience of oral health education had higher demand on oral health education (P<0.001), and those with higher experience of oral health education had significantly higher oral health knowledge (P<0.001), demand (P<0.01) and awareness (P<0.05). As for factors influencing care workers' oral health awareness, if they had higher oral health knowledge points (P<0.01), oral health education demand (P<0.01), they had higher oral health awareness level. Accordingly, it is required to provide efficient, sustainable and practical oral health education of care workers considering oral characteristics of the long-term hospitalized patients at the care hospital. And, the role of dental hygienist as the person in charge of oral health education is necessary. Therefore, institutional support from the government is required to assign professional personnel.

Methods: Participants (n=47) whose period of stay was less than one year were purposefully selected from 3 nursing homes in Korea. The experimental group (n=21) attended 10 weekly hour-long empowerment sessions. The empowerment program comprised two components; group education and group discussion. The control group (n=26) received a two-hour education about health management. Results: Compared with the control group, the experimental group showed significantly higher mean scores of selfesteem (t=5.51, p<.001), interpersonal relationships (t=2.73, p=.009) and adjustment to nursing home life (t=2.10, p=.041). Conclusion: Findings of this study suggest that empowerment interventions may be effective in enhancing nursing home residents' self-esteem, interpersonal relationships and adjustment to nursing home life. Future research is needed to determine if such an empowerment program could be used with newly institutionalized elders to speed as well as enhance their adjustment to nursing home life.

The sample was consisted of 299 elderly caregivers working for the long-term elderly care centers from Seoul and Kyunggi areas. Both hierarchical multiple regression analysis and mediated regression analysis are used for statistical analysis. The findings from the study are as follow. First, the job characteristics of elderly caregivers have significant effects on their job satisfaction, burnouts, and emotional labor levels after controlling for background variables. Second, emotional labor has a significant effect on burnout, but it has no effect on job satisfaction. Third, there are mediating effects of emotional labor on the relationship between job characteristics of elderly caregivers and their job satisfaction/burnouts. These results suggest that enhanced supervision and stress management education as well as job improvement for elderly caregivers be carried out for the improvement of both their job satisfaction and burnouts. Furthermore, the improvement of the working conditions of elderly caregivers should be paid attention by the government as well as individual elderly care centers.

We conducted a transformed cohort-component projection method that are employed for the beneficiary population projection and applied the previous experiences in Japan and German. A transformed cohort-component method means that we also projected the increasing beneficiary of long-term care insurance for using the data of geriatric disease in NHIC and estimated the cost of insurance's financial resources. First of all, beneficiary increase and strategy of extending to level 4 are categorized 2 and the expense account projection are categorized 2. If it is thought experience of Japan and German, The Level 4 extend of insuree is projected 2012 or 2013. With the results of this study, we proposed that extended level 4 insuree include the 40%~90% of geriatric disease in elderly people. The number of beneficiaries in 2011 is expected to reach to about 342,896 and in 2015 is 415,905 on scenario 1. Scenario 2(40%of geriatric disease in elderly people), the number of beneficiaries in 2011 is 342,896 and in 2015 is 483,453. Scenario 3(90%of geriatric disease in elderly people), the number of beneficiaries in 2012 is 545,068 and in 2015 is 565,565. The cost of beneficiaries insurance benefit of scenario 1 are projected from 3,000billion in 2012 to 3,500billion won in 2015. Scenario 2 are projected from 3,100billion in 2012 to 4,000billion won 2015. Finally, The cost of Level 4 extending are need minimum 300billion to maximum 1,400billion won.
