This paper aims at providing a critical review of Alva Noe's enactive theory of perception. The discussion will be organized around the three issues: (i) Does the body make an ineliminable contribution to shaping the mind? (ii) Does Noe succeed in providing effective arguments against the brain-centrism? (iii) Does Noe's theory give a satisfactory explanation of how we can perceive external objects? In the sections 2 and 3 of the paper, I discuss possible criticisms that can be raised against Noe with regard to (i) and (ii). Although these are serious criticisms, they apply to the embodied cognition in general. That is, those criticisms are not restricted to Noe's theory. In order to understand the core aspect of Noe's theory, we need to pay attention to "the problem of perceptual presence" that is brought up in (iii). It is here that Noe's theory is supposed to make a distinct contribution to the discussion about the nature of perception. I argue, however, in the section 4 that Noe's theory fails to provide a satisfactory explanation of perceptual presence.

Since the elderly voices include a lot of noise caused by physiological changes in respiration, phonation, and resonance, the performance of the convergence health-care equipments such as speech recognition, synthesis, analysis program done by elderly voice is deteriorated. Therefore it is necessary to develop researches to operate health-care instruments with elderly voices. In this study, a voice activity detection using a symmetric higher-order differential energy function (SHODEO) was developed and was compared with auto-correlation function(ACF) and the average magnitude difference function(AMDF). It was confirmed to have a better performance than other methods in the voice interval detection. The voice activity detection will be applied to a voice interface for the elderly to improve the accessibility of the smart devices.

당뇨병은 노화와 밀접한 관계가 있다. 이 때문에 나이가 들수록 당뇨병이 많이 발생한다. 실제 우리나라 한 대학병원의 조사에 따르면 65세 이상 노인 10 명 중 3명이 당뇨병환자로 나타났다. 이렇게 노인당뇨의 발병률이 점점 증가하고 있지만 노인 대부분은 그저 '늙어서 그런가보다'며 제대로 된 당뇨검사나 치료를 받지 않아 심각한 상황을 예고한다.

미국 일리노이주의 발전설비 기술기준 체계의 근간을 이루는 것은 ''보일러 및 압력용기안전법(Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act)''(이하 ''법'')으로 일리노이주 의회의 표결이 의한 통과와 주지사의 재가에 의해 법률로 제정된다. State of Fire Marshal(이하 ''소방청'') Dvision of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety(이하 ''보일러 및 압력용기안전본부'') 그리고 Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Rules(보일러 및 압력용기법위원회)가 법의 제정, 대체 및 개정의 권한을 갖고 있다. 보일러 및 압력용기안전법은 1951년 제정되었으며, 법에서 규정한 예외사항을 제외한 보일러 및 압력용기의 건조$\cdot$설치$\cdot$수리$\cdot$유지$\cdot$교체$\cdot$사용$\cdot$운영에 대한 것을 규정하고 있다. 또한 ''보일러 및 압력용기법위원회''(이하 ''위원회'')를 설립하도록 하고 있다. 위원회는 법의 개정$\cdot$관리, 각종 수수료 책정 등 일리노이주의 보일러 및 압력용기에 대한 전반적인 사항을 관장한다. 보일러 및 압력용기안전법 2002년도 판의 내용을 기초로 하여 미국 일리노이주 발전설비 기술기준의 최근 체계에 대해 소개한다.

A taxonomic study on the freshwater harpacticoids of the genus Canthocamptus has been accomplished as one of the serial researches on the family Canthocarnptidae in South Korea. As a result of it, a total of seven species of the genus are listed, two of which are new to Korean fauna: C. kitaurensis Kikuchi and C. macrosetifer Ishida. Additional materials of five species belonging to Canthocamptus mirabilis species group are recorded. A key to the seven species of the genus Canthocamptus known from Korea is prepared.

With the result of Korean national senior's real life state survey analysis that is triennially conducted based on Article 5 of Welfare of the Aged Act, this study categorized the senior according to age norm cognition, and figured out the characteristic of each category, and analyzed their needs for life satisfaction and hoping activities. Because the senior at present are on higher level of health, education, and economy than 20 to 30 years ago, it is about time to repeat discussion about the policies established in the past in terms of society, culture, industry, welfare, employment, and participation as a convergence approach. As a result of analysis study, the senior divided into three groups:, resignation type, progressiveness type, and saving appearances type. Their life satisfaction level and hoping activities by senior segment groups are different. By results of this study, the preservation of income for senior will be needed, and they don't want volunteer activities so that there are another policy system will be needed to vitalize senior's social participation for their healthy physical and mental life. Korean senior were satisfied with family members relationship, -although Korean senior's life satisfaction level is not higher so that the new policy to care senior by senior system will be reviewed more actively.

This study aims tried to present develop a management plan for about old and big trees and legally protected trees by investigating through the present the current status and the distribution of the legally protected trees and old and big tree that range in Gwangju, South Korea. The number of legally protected plants that distributed in Gwangju City is 68 individual trees from 9 species. The largest number was found in Gwangsan-gu (18 trees). The total number of the old and big trees that are distributed in Gwangju City was confirmed as 155 individual trees from 10 species. It must to be corrected to a correct plant species name that species name is written in review articles incorrectly. The average vitality rate of the legally protected plants was 1.2 and the status of ground was 1.7 on average. And the vitality rate of the old and big trees was 1.3 and the status of ground was 2.0 on average. Vitality are not significantly different between the legally protected trees and old and big trees. Ground status of old and big trees worse than legally protected trees. Gingko biloba (found in Gwangsan-gu Songdaedong Daechon village) was only legally protected plant that requires urgent management due to low vitality rate (between 3.2 and 4.0). Among old and big trees Salix glandulosa which is found in Gwangsan-gu Sansu-dong Gamdong village was only one that requires urgent care. The most important status for the old and big tree is securing minimal space for growth. Therefore, we conclude that the most urgent measure in the management and projection of old and big trees and legally protected plants is removal of asphalt or cement above the surface of root system.

Old-growth and giant tree is a nonrenewable resource with great value. The purpose of this study is to provide scientific and reasonable evaluations for the preservation and management of the old-growth and giant tree. Until now the research of old-growth and giant tree's value evaluation and authoritative index is so insufficient and imperfection. Combining with the particularity of the old-growth and giant tree, this study analyzed the main value factors of the old-growth and giant tree and objectively selected the evaluation indicators. According to the actual situation value appraisal model of the old-growth and giant tree was builded. The main value factors can be divided into economic value, cultural history, growing place, tree state, tree form, tree vigor, protection level, growth environment, tree species, tree canopy, and so on. The evaluate indicators can be selected and the indicators' weight can be calculate using analytic hierarchy process methods(AHP). Based on economic value and indicators' weight, tree's total value can be revealed. After calculation and analysis, Gyeongju Gyerim Zelkova serrata's value evaluation results is 491,503,300 won. The research results of this study can provide scientific basis and reference to the old-growth and giant trees' value appraisal and loss compensation, and arouse people's environmental awareness.

This study aims to examine the representations of elders in reality shows focusing on gender disparity by employing a textual analysis and audience interviews. According to findings, as for elderly men, various images are presented while as for elderly women, traditional gender images are mainly reproduced. In the audience reception, the audiences' understanding of genres and their preexisting gender perceptions have important roles on their interpretations in the ways of producing gender discriminated meanings.

The purpose of this paper was to study cookies that could be sweetened by consumers through the addition of Morinda citrifolia powder, and also to examine the quality characteristics of such cookies in order to expand the uses of Morinda citrifolia. The addition of Morinda citrifolia powder did not have an observable affect on cookie density, although it did decrease pH levels. A central finding was the lack of significant differences in moisture content of cookies made with Morinda citrifolia powder at the significance level of 5%. Significant differences were found in the diameter, which represents spreadability, in the group of cookies made with Morinda citrifolia powder. The L value decreased considerably with the addition of Morinda citrifolia powder. The control also recorded the highest hardness points and had significant differences from the groups added with 3% and 6% Morinda citrifolia powder. The sensory evaluation results showed no significant differences in the taste, flavor, texture, and overall preference between the group of 6% Morinda citrifolia powder and the control except for color, which suggests that cookies made with 6% Morinda citrifolia powder seem to be ideal.
