The subjects were 363 nurses working at general hospitals at G city and analyzed using SPSS 21.0 from October 17, 2017 to October 31, 2017. As a result of research, relationship-oriented culture and innovation-oriented culture partially mediated the relationship between emotional labor frequency and turnover intention in relation to emotional labor and turnover intention. The results of this study show that the importance of nursing organizational culture to improve the organization's smooth relationship and cohesion can be lowered by creating a positive correlation with desirable emotional expression. • Uncertainty of career environment driven by globalization and shift of employment context drives heavy competition of labor market and anxiety of employment for individuals. New career paradigm based on this environmental change puts emphasis on subjective career success from individual's viewpoint as important career outcome and individual's proactive career development efforts. In addition to this, importance of person-environment fit and person-job fit is growing in relationship between career planning and career success. Based on this perspective, this study aims to identify whether person-environment fit and person-job fit mediate the relationship between career development and subjective career success. Data analysis of questionnaire from 220 employees showed that both fits mediate the relationship. This result implies that individual's proactive career planning is critical to career success and this strengthens one's satisfaction to organization and job. To organization, strategies need to be developed to design career development of employees' based on their career needs and organizational intervention such as job-rotation system.

  • It is expected that labor mobility and inter-industry labor turnover would rise due to the rapid changes in the industrial structure and legal institutions of layoffs after the 1997 economic crisis in Korea. One aspect of economic costs of labor mobility is demise of accumulated skills of workers. Workers' skills could be decomposed into three parts, general skills, firm-specific skills, and industry-specific skills. Using data from the panal data of Korea Labor Institute(KLIPS), I show that the net return to seniority is markedly reduced once industry-experience are controlled for. The returns to industry-specific experience are relatively high. Particularly, the experience in one-digit industry is more important for the white-collar workers, while the experience in three-digit industry is also important for the blue-collar workers. Therefore, it seems that the economic cost of labor mobility would be diverse between the skills and between the working classes.

  • Many students accumulate work experience while they attend college. Using data from Korean Youth Panel, I investigate the effects of in-school work experience on school-to-work process. Work during college contributes to take first job quickly after school, but has no significant effect on wage level of first job. These results show that in-school work experience might help job search but not provide skills and knowledge. These findings suggest that it is necessary to link the youth internship programme to in-school learning in collaboration with school.
