  • In the past, commercial advertisements were produced mainly by advertisements that introduced functions, descriptions, or brands that the product had. However, the current advertising market appeals to the product by projecting emotion into the product in line with the consumer's expanded role of storytelling. • Nudge, which is recently in the spotlight again, refers to inducing a person's behavior change naturally rather than forcibly in behavioral economics. It is used not only in behavioral economics, but also in various fields such as design and communication, and is continuously expanding. Furthermore, it is used for entrepreneurship education as well as solving social problems in the public sector that are easily encountered in the surroundings. Given this aspect, it would be very meaningful to understand and analyze Nudge from the perspective of problem solving. Therefore, this study analyzed the usefulness and utility of Nudge from the perspective of problem solving. The usefulness of Nudge was confirmed through TRIZ technique, which is a representative technique for problem solving, and conversely, the utility of Nudge in TRIZ technique was also analyzed. The results of this study are expected to provide useful theoretical and practical implications for researchers and managers interested in knowledge management for problem solving.

  • Consumers tend to trust information provided by other consumers more than information provided by sellers. Therefore, while inducing consumers to write high-quality reviews is a very important task for companies, it is not easy to produce such high-quality reviews. Based on previous research on review writing and memory recall, we decided to develop a way to use digital nudge to help consumers naturally write high-quality reviews. Specifically, we designed an experiment to verify the effect of uploading a photo during the online review process on the quality of review of the review writer. We then recruited subjects and then divided them into groups that upload photos first and groups that do not. A task was assigned to each subject to write positive and negative reviews. As a result, it was confirmed that the behavior of uploading a photo first increases the review length. In addition, it was confirmed that when online users who upload photos first have extremely negative satisfaction with the product, the extent of two-sidedness of the review content increases.

  • Internet privacy has become a significant issue in recent years in light of the sharp increase in internet-based social and economic activities. The technology which collects, processes and disseminates personal information is improving significantly and the demand for personal information is rising given its inherent value in regard to targeted marketing and customized services. The high value placed on personal information has turned it into a commodity with economic worth which can be transacted in the marketplace. Therefore, it is strongly required to approach the issue of privacy from economic perspective in addition to the prevailing approaches. This article analyzes the behaviors of consumers and firms in gathering personal information, and shielding it from unauthorized access, using a game theory framework in which players strive to do their best under the given conditions. The analysis shows that there exist no market forces which require all firms to respect consumer privacy, and that government intervention in the form of a nudging incentive for information sharing and/or strict regulation is necessary.
