Simulation on the performance of an automobile climate control system with Internal heat exchanger and TXV (내부열교환기와 TXV를 적용한 자동차용 공조시스템의 성능에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • Recently, automobile air conditioning systems have applied an alternative refrigerant that can replace the high GWP refrigerant R134a due to the global warming problem. This study simulated the performance of an automobile climate control system with an internal heat exchanger and TXV. Refrigerant R1234yf was applied as the working fluid. Amesim, a commercial software program, was used to model the main components of the compressor, condenser, TXV, evaporator, and internal heat exchanger. As the outside temperature increased from 30℃ to 40℃, the cooling capacity of the system decreased by 3.1%, and the power consumption of the compressor increased by 17.1%. In addition, The performance characteristics of the refrigeration cycle were simulated by increasing the fin pitch of the condenser from 0.8 mm to 1.4 mm. When the fin pitch was larger than 1.0 mm, the condenser capacity decreased, and the system COP was lowered by 5.9%. When the fin pitch of the condenser was 0.8 mm, which was smaller than 1.0 mm, there was no significant change in the system performance. Hence, the optimal performance was observed at a fin pitch of 1.0 mm.

  • 1980년대부터 본격적으로 제기된 대기 환경 오염 문제로 인해서 CFCs 및 HCFCs계 냉매에 대한 대체 연구가 활발히 진행되었는데, 이와 관련한 열교환기의 고성능화, 콤팩트화 등에 관한 연구도 광범위하게 이루어지고 있다. 이중에서 특기할만 한 것은 종래의 전열관보다 관경이 대단히 적은 세관을 적용하는 경우가 있으며, 그 적응 범위도 점점 더 넓어질 전망이다. 이것은 유효전열 면적의 극대화, 난류효과의 상승, 가공성기 향상, 유연성 등 세관만이 가질 수 있는 여러 가지 전열 성능상의 장점 때문이라 생각한다.

  • 과냉 촉진을 위한 새로운 열교환기(HESC)가 생활공간의 냉난방을 위한 공기-물 열펌프의 성능계수 향상을 위해 본 연구에서 개발되었으며 그 효과를 실험적으로 분석하였다. 이 열교환기(HESC)는 여러 단계의 셀과 튜브로 구성되어 있으며, 열펌프 시스템의 응축기와 증발기 사이에 장착되었다. 실험 조건으로, 외기온은 $7^{\circ}C$에서 $-17^{\circ}C$, 입구 물 온도는 $7{\sim}10^{\circ}C$ 그리고 제 2열전달매체로서 물의 질량 유동율은 시간당 100에서 $300{\ell}$로 변화를 주었다. 본 실험에서 이 열교환기가 장착된 열펌프의 압축기에서의 냉매 입 출구 사이의 온도 차이는 열교환기가 장착되지 않은 열펌프보다 $15^{\circ}C$ 높았다. 이에 따라 이 열교환기가 장착된 열펌프 시스템은 외기온 $-10^{\circ}C$에서 COP가 0.8 증가하였다. 따라서 이 공기-물 열펌프 시스템은 최근 한국에서 실용화되고 있는 고비용이 요구되는 지열 열펌프 시스템을 대체하여 생활공간을 위한 냉난방 시스템으로서 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

The Effect of refrigerant pass & distribution in aluminum parallel flow heat exchanger (알루미늄 평행류 열교환기에서 냉매패스와 분배량 변화의 영향)

  • In this study, an analysis code was created for a 190*650*25-mm (W*H*D) parallel-flow evaporator, and research was done on how to increase the heat transfer rate of aluminum PF heat exchanger for application in IDU. After varying the R410A refrigerant up-down flow to two and three passes and the distribution ratio to 1:1:1 and 1:2:2, it was determined that the two-pass flow has a 30% higher partial heat transfer rate and a 25% lower heat transfer coefficient compared to the three-pass flow. As for the distribution ratios of the three-pass flow, 1:1:1 was found to have a lower refrigerant pressure loss than 1:2:2 distribution. It was assumed, though, that the refrigerant distribution had a uniform flow and that its value was thus overestimated in the actual case of maldistribution in each pass.

  • In this paper, cycle performance analysis of cascade refrigeration system using alternative FREON refrigerants and natural refrigerants are presented to offer the basic design data for the operating parameters of the system. The operating parameters considered in this study include subcooled and superheated degree, and condensing and evaporating temperature, temperature difference of cascade heat exchanger in cascade refrigeration system. The COP of cascade refrigeration system increases with the increasing subcooled degree, but there is no significant changes with the increasing superheated degree. The COP of cascade refrigeration system depends on evaporating and condensing temperatures of cascade heat exchanger. Therefore, subcooled degree, evaporating and condensing temperature of cascade heat exchanger using alternative FREON refrigerants and natural refrigerants have an effect on the COP of this system. In this paper, COP of cascade refrigeration system using (R23 / R290), (R23 / R600), (R23 / R600a), (R23 / R717), (R744 / R404A) are higher 20 ~ 36 % than (R23 / R22), using R23 for low temperature system and R22 for high temperature system.

Modeling of Fin-Tube Heat Exchanger (핀-관 열교환기의 모델링)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the behavior of operational and design factors on the performance characteristics of a horizontal fin-tube heat exchanger under phase change conditions for refrigerant. The flow and heat transfer in the heat exchanger are simulated numerically taking into account the variations of heat transfer coefficients, thermodynamic and flow properties of refrigerant, and the axial heat conduction in the tube wall. As the results of this study, it was found that the annular flow model was more reasonable physically than the homogeneous one for the two phase flow of refrigerant and axial heat conduction of tube wall did not have a great influence on the analysis. The effects of refrigerant pressure, mass flow rate of air, diameter of tube and the number of fins per unit length of tube were also discussed.

Experimental Study on Performance Comparison of Air-Conditioner with PF Heat Exchanger (PF 열교환기를 적용한 공조기의 성능 비교 실험연구)

  • In the present study, the heat transfer characteristics of the fin-tube and PF heat exchangers and the performances of the air-conditioner are experimentally investigated. Also, Cooling Seasonal Performance Factor(CSPF) of the air-conditioner is evaluated. For the heat exchanger experiment, the heat transfer and pressure drop are obtained. For the air-conditioner experiment, the cooling capacity, input power and COP are obtained. The air-enthalpy calorimeter and the constant temperature water bath are used. As the inlet air velocity increases, the heat transfer rate and pressure drop of the heat exchanger increased. PF heat exchanger has smaller refrigerant weight and larger capacity and COP than the fin-tube heat exchanger. The performance of PF-2 heat exchanger with the squarer fin is more excellent than that of PF-1 heat exchanger with the triangler fin. Also, CSPF of the fm -tube and PF heat exchanger is evaluated.

  • In this study, we developed a cooling system for 1 ton size refrigeration vehicle using carbon dioxide natural refrigerant among hydrocarbon type refrigerant which is attracting attention as environment friendly refrigerant, and designed a heat exchanger and a unit cooler to raise COP. In addition, existing CNG 5 ton refrigerated trucks were converted into LNG vehicles to increase the efficiency of the cooling system and ensure safety against CNG. As a result, environmentally friendly refrigerated trucks using natural refrigerants of 1 ton and 5 ton sizes were developed.

Evaporation kent transfer characteristics of R-290 and R-600a in the horizontal tubes (수평관내 R-290과 R-600a의 증발 열전달 특성)

  • This paper presents the experimental results of evaporation heat transfer coefficients of HC(e.g. R290 and R600a), R-22 as a HCFCs refrigerant in horizontal double pipe heat exchangers, having four different inner diameters of 10.07 mm and 6.54 mm respectively. The experiments of the evaporation process were conducted at mass flux of $35.5{\sim}210.4\;kg/m^2s$ and cooling capacity of $0.95{\sim}10.1\;kW$. The main results were summarized as follows : The average evaporation heat transfer coefficient of R-290 and R-600a was higher value than that of R-22. In comparison with R-22, the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of R-290 and 600a is approximately $56.7{\sim}70.1$ and $46.6{\sim}59.7%$ higher, respectively. In comparison with experimental data and some correlations, the evaporation heat transfer coefficients are well matched with the Kandlikar's correlation regardless of a type of refrigerants and tube diameters.
