Three-dimensional flow and pressure loss of a film-cooling jets injected in spanwise direction (폭방향으로 분사되는 막냉각 제트의 3차원 유동특성 및 압력손실)

  • Oil-film flow visualizations and three-dimensional flow measurements using a five-hole probe have been conducted to investigate three-dimensional flow characteristics and total pressure losses of a row of film-cooling jets injected in spanwise direction. For several span-to-diameter ratios, experiments are performed in the case of three velocity ratios of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5. The flow measurements show that downstream flow due to the injection is characterized by a single streamwise vortex instead of a pair of counter-rotating vortices, which appear in the case of streamwise injection, and the vortex strength strongly depends on the velocity ratio. Regardless of the velocity*y ratio, presence of the spanwise film-cooling jets always produces total pressure loss, which is pronounced when the velocity ratio is large. It has also been found that the production of the total pressure loss is closely related to the secondary vortical flow. In addition, effects of the span-to-diameter ratio on the flow and total pressure loss are discussed in detail.

  • Properties of bleed air that is air source of ECS(Environmental Control System) can be rapidly changed with airplane engine operating conditions during flight. Therefore, ECS can be operated at a high performance or not during flight. So, high performance ACM has to be developed in order to flight safely. A adaptability of phase changing heat exchanger was esteemed at ACM type ECS in this study. As a result of this study, it is found that ECS outlet temperature can be controlled in a certain range with the phase changing phenomenon.

  • 날씨가 더운지방에 소규모(小規模) 목장(牧場)들이 먼거리를 두고 산재(散在)되어 있는 경우, 각목장(各牧場)에서 생산(生産)된 우유(牛乳)를 수집(收集)해서 처리공장(處理工場)까지 수송하는 데는 많은 어려움이 있다. 현대화(現代化)된 우유처리공장(牛乳處理工場)이나 저온저장시설이 충분(充分)하지 못한 아열대지방(亞熱帶地方)에 위치(位置)한 발전도상국에서는 우유(牛乳)를 장시간(長時間) 수집(收集)하여 먼거리를 수송하는 동안 많은 양(量)의 우유(牛乳)가 부패 손실(損失)되고 있다. 이 문제를 해결(解決)하기 위하여, 그곳 현지목장(現地牧場)에 강하게 쪼이는 태양열(太陽熱)을 이용(利用)하는 것은 대단히 바람직 하다. 에너지 절약이나, 우유(牛乳)의 부패손실(腐敗損失) 막기 위하여, 태양열(太陽熱)을 이용(利用)한 소규모우유처리기(小規模牛乳處理機)를 개발하여 현지목장(現地牧場)에서 직접(直接) 우유를 처리(處理)하여 인근주민에게 공급하는 것이 가장좋은 해결방법이라 판단하고, 그 실현가능성을 확인(確認)하기 위하여 실제로 태양열(太陽熱)우유처리기(處理機) 개발(開發)을 위한 그 모형(模型)의 회로구성(回路構成)을 고찰(考察)한 결과(結果) 다음과 같다. 1. 태양열(太陽熱) 우유처리기(牛乳處理機)의 모형(模型)은 다음 4개(個)의 회로(回路)로 구성(構成)되었다. 가. 우유(牛乳)순환 회로(回路) 나. 가열회로(加熱回路) 다. 예냉회로(豫冷回路) 라. 냉각회로(冷却回路) 2. 우유가열회로(牛乳加熱回路)는 태양열(太陽熱)을 이용(利用)하였으며 냉각회로(冷却回路)는 압축식 냉각기(冷却機)를 이용(利用)하였다. 3. 자동제어(自動制御)시스템을 장치(裝置)하여 태양강도변화(太陽强度變化)에 따른 우유처리량(牛乳處理量) 조절(調節)을 자동화(自動化)할 수 있도록 하였다.

Cross Flow Indirect Evaporative Cooler Made of a Plastic Film/Paper Composite (플라스틱 필름/종이 복합 재질의 직교류 간접증발소자)

  • Indirect evaporative cooling, which utilizes a cooling effect obtained by the evaporation of water, is energy-effective compared to the conventional vapor compression method. It is also eco-friendly, due to the non-usage of CFC refrigerant. In this study, three indirect evaporative cooler samples of the cross flow type(size: $300mm{\times}300mm{\times}300mm$, channel pitch: $5mm{\times}5mm$, $5mm{\times}7mm$, $7mm{\times}7mm$) were made using plastic/paper composites. Tests were conducted to measure indirect evaporative efficiencies and pressure drops. Results showed that the efficiency was the highest for the $5mm{\times}5mm$ sample, owing to the largest surface area. The saved electrical energy was also the greatest for that sample. The pressure drop of the wet channel was larger than that of the dry channel as expected. A theoretical model was proposed, which underestimated both the indirect evaporation efficiency and the pressure drop.

Chemical Effects on Head Loss across Containment Sump Strainer under Post-LOCA Environment (LOCA이후 환경에서 원자로건물집수조 여과기의 수두손실에 대한 화학적 영향)

  • A test apparatus has been fabricated to simulate chemical effect on head loss through a strainer in a pressurized water reactor (PWR) containment water pool after a loss of coolant accident (LOCA). Tests were conducted under condition of same ratio of strainer surface area to water volume between the test appratus and the containment sump. A series of tests have been performed to investigate the effects of spray, existence of calcium-silicate with tri-sodium phosphate (TSP), and composition of materials. The results showed that head loss across the chemical bed with even a small amount of calcium-silicate insulation instantaneously increased as soon as TSP was added to the test solution. Also, the head loss across the test screen is strongly affected by spray duration and is increased rapidly at the early stage, because of high dissolution and precipitation of aluminum and zinc. After passivation of aluminum and zinc by corrosion, the head loss increase is much slowed down and is mainly induced by materials such as calcium, silicon, and magnesium leached from NUKONTM and concrete. Furthermore, it is newly found that the spay buffer agent, tri-sodium phosphate, to form protective coating on the aluminum surface and reduce aluminum leaching is not effective for a large amount of aluminum and a long spray.

  • In this paper, a cooling system of high-power propulsion motor with Energy Saving System(ESS) is described. Normally, the cooling system for ship consists of fresh water pump, sea water pump, 3-way valve and cooler. In the cooling system, F.W(Fresh Water) and S.W(Sea Water) pump is operated on rated rpm, and the 3-way valve is controlled for preventing over-cooling. So, the consumption power of pump's motor is changed according to a sea water temperature. In the proposed cooling system, F.W. pump and S.W pump is controlled by inverter, and it is can be reduced the consumption power. Also, it is proved with simulation.

  • 팁 간격의 크기가 냉각탑용 축류팬의 성능과 누설 유동에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해서 서로 다른 2가지 팁 간격을 가진 경우에 대해서 점성유동을 해석하였다. 케이싱 내에서 작동하는 축류팬 주위의 유동을 연속방정식, Navier-Stokes 방정식 등을 지배방정식으로 사용하여 수치해석 하였다. 난류유동에 나타나는 레이놀즈 응력은 ${\kappa}-{\epsilon}$ 난류모델을 사용하여 계산하였다. 전체적으로 H형 격자계를 사용하였으며, 팁 주위의 유동을 해석하기 위해서 팁 영역 주위에 부분적으로 조밀한 격자를 두었다. 팁 간격이 증가하면 누설 유동의 증가로 인한 유동 손실의 증가로 전압상승과 수력효율이 감소하였다. 팬 직경에 대한 팁 간격이 0.4%에서 1.0%로 증가하면 전압상승 값이 약 10% 정도 감소하였으며, 수력효율은 약 3% 정도 감소하였다. 팁 간격이 팁 근처 날개 주위의 압력에 미치는 영향을 보면, 팁 간격이 증가하여 누설 유동이 증가하면 흡입면과 압력면의 압력차가 전연 부근에서 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 누설 와류의 중심은 코드를 따라서 흡입면으로 부터 떨어져 나가면서 형성됨을 알 수 있었다. 누설 와류의 위치를 보면 팁 간격이 증가하면 와류 중심의 위치가 흡입면 쪽으로 이동하고, 흡입면에서 떨어진 거리도 날개 후반부에서 증가 폭이 커지는 포물선 형태로 증가함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 고온초전도체를 코일형태로 제작할 경우 코일사이 접합저항의 크기는 운전전류 및 전체시스템의 안정도를 결정할 때 중요한 부분을 차지한다. 특히 극저온 냉동기를 이용한 전도냉각 시스템의 경우는 액체냉매를 이용한 냉각시스템보다 더욱 중요하게 접합저항에 의한 열손실이 고려 되어야한다. 현재 저자들은 전도냉각형 2T 마그네트를 제작하고 있다. 권선에 사용된 도체는 Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd(SEI) DI-BSSCO H type이다. 이 도체는 stabilizer가 없는 기계적으로 매우 약한 도체이다. 본 논문에선 stabilizer가 없는 도체로 권선된 코일의 경우 발생 할 수 있는 문제점에 대해 나타내었고 안정된 접합을 위해 고려되어야 할 사항에 대해 논의하고자한다.

  • DMFC uses oxygen by reactants. Therefore, cathode electrode must contact with outside air. However, when used in mobile devices, the user's body by blocking the air intake on the oxygen supply DMFC con not. DMFC to supply air to the cooling fan is used. However, by using cooling fan, air inlet to the pressure loss and changes will occurs, the output will be worse. In this paper, we designed air supplying system using piezo actuators. We DMFC evaluation system was implemented, verified the performance of air supplying system. And the operation was connected to an MP3 player.

A Computational Study for the Discharge Coefficient of a Film-Cooling Hole (Film-Cooling Hole의 유출계수에 관한 수치해석적 연구)

  • Computational study using the 2-dimensional, compressible, Navier-Stokes equations is performed to predict the discharge coefficient of air flow through a film-cooling hole. In order to investigate the effect of internal/external flows on discharge coefficient, the present computational results which are obtained for three flow cases, only external flow, only internal flow, and no flow, are compared with experimental ones. It is found that the computational results predict the discharge coefficient of the film-cooling hole in a reasonable accuracy and the external crossflow reduces the discharge coefficient, while the internal crossflow increases the discharge coefficient in a range of momentum flux ratio $I_{c-jet}$ > 1 due to the total pressure loss and boundary layer effect.
