The Effects of Heat-treatment on Magnetic Properties for Gas-atomized MPP Dust Cores (가스분무법으로 제조한 MPP 분말코어의 자기적 특성에 미치는 열처리 효과)

  • The effects of heat-treatment with magnetic or non-magnetic field on magnetic properties of gas-atomized MPP dust cores subjected to various cooling processes after annealing were investigated. Upon magnetic-field annealing, ac permeability and core loss decreased with the increase of cooling rate, which were attributed to the generation of inhomogeneous internal stress and anomalous eddy current loss, respectively. It was not observed the formation of ordered phase and the related change in magnetic properties at the cooling stage for MPP dust cores. In MPP alloys, magnetic anisotropy was easily induced through the directional order, and permeability and core loss were changed under the conditions of low cooling rate and magnetic annealing.

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the extender, cooling rate and concentration of glycerol for freezing of boar semen. The result obtained were summarized as follows: 1. Optimal cooling rate was $0.17\~022^{\circ}C/min$ from 25 to $5^{\circ}C$ in LEY extender on the viability and normal acrosome after thawed. 2. The LEY extender was effective in protecting frozen boar semen from cold shock among the extenders(p<0.001, respectively). 3. The sperm viability and normal acrosome rates after thawing was showed greater in the 3 or $4\%$ of glycerol concentration than $2\%$ in LEY extender. 4. Viability of sperm was higher when both 15mM of fructose and 3 or $4\%$ glycerol were added to the LEY extender compared with other concentrations of fructose and glycerol were added it(p<0.001).

  • Effects of cooling condition after solidification on the microstructure and the mechanical properties of 0.36Mn containing ductile cast iron have been studied based on the minimized addition of Cu and Sn for vehicle component applications with better quality and cost competitiveness. Cu and Sn were selected for additional elements judging from the well-known fact of strong tendency of pearlite promotion followed by the tensile property improvement. After pouring of the Mg treated cast iron melt with various chemical compositions into the block specimens, two ways of post solidification cooling conditions were applied for comparison; both cooling in the mold and cooling in the air after dismantle at 800℃. The pearlite fraction of the mold-cooled specimens was analyzed as 27-44%, with the tensile strength and elongation of 513-568N/mm2 and 10.4-14.3%, respectively. Whilest, the air cooled specimens showed the pearlite fraction of 77~85%, with the tensile strength and elongation of 728~758N/mm2 and 3.2~6.0%, respectively. It is worthwhile to note that the remarkable improvement of both tensile strength and elongation of the ductile iron was achieved by the present air cooling condition with the minimized combined addition of Cu and Sn to the 0.36Mn containing ductile iron.

Experimental study of extinguishment of the pure diffusion flame using water spray (수분무를 이용한 순수확산화염의 소화에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study describes extinguishment mechanism of the purely buoyant diffusion flame using the water spray. Experiments are systematically carried out for the oul pool fire with the six different atomizing nozzles. From the measurement of burning rate which represents the combustion intensity of fire, it is observed that the water spray is able to act to enhance fire rather than to extinguish fire. The air entertainment due to the water spray is visualized to understand this phenomenon, acting to enhance fire. In order to observe effects of droplet size on fire extinguishment, and amount of water which reaches the flame base, fuel surface, and mean diameter of droplets are measured. When water droplets are too small, they do not reach the flame base because they can the water spray having too small doplets is ineffective for extinguishment of the oil fire.

  • As a result of resistant starch yield depending on heating temperature, moisture content, storage temperature and heating-cooling cycle with RSM (response surface methodology), high amylose corn starch (46%) was appeared higher than normal corn starch in the yield (22%). At the high amylose corn starch, optimum conditions for resistant starch formation were 6 times of heating-cooling cycle, 108$^{\circ}C$ heating temperature and 67% moisture content at the 2$0^{\circ}C$ storage temperature, which resulted in 25% yield with these experiment conditions. Affecting factor for the resistant starch formation was arranged according to heating -cooling cycle, moisture content, heating temperature and storage temperature. Raw corn starch granule was destructive and appeared a porous reticular structure by the resistant starch formation. Color became dark and increased yellowness by caramelization during heating processing. Heating-cooling processing was the result of decreased hardness, cohesiveness, springiness and gumminess.

  • 높은 투자율과 낮은 손실특성을 지닌(Mn, Zn)ferrite의 전자기적 특성은 소결공정과 소결분위기에 따라 상당히 다양하게 나타난다. 본 연구에서는(Mn, Zn)ferrite를 소결시킬 때의 승온속도와 냉각속도에 따른 초투자율 특성과 미세구조의 관계에 관하여 고찰하였다. 승온속도의 영향을 고찰하기 위하여 spinel ferrites 생성 및 결정입 성장 거동에 가장 중요한 온도인 800~120$0^{\circ}C$의 범위에서 속도를 변화시켰고, 냉각속도 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 1100~80$0^{\circ}C$ 온도범위를 택하였다. 열처리 온도범위 800~120$0^{\circ}C$에서 승온속도가 증가함에따라 초투자율이 7$^{\circ}C$/min까지는 증가했으나 그 이상의 승온속도에서는 오히려 초투자율이 감소하였다. 또한 1100~80$0^{\circ}C$ 온도범위에선 냉각속도가 증가될수록 초투자율이 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 치밀화 및 투자율을 높이기 위하여 첨가된 CaO, SiO2, V2O5의 분포상태를 분석한 결과, 이들 첨가물들은 입자와 입계를 따라 균일하게 분포하는 것으로 나타났다.

Study on the Fire Behavior of Spring Bed Mattress with and Without a Cooling Frame (냉각프레임 설치 유무에 따른 스프링 침대 매트리스의 화재성상에 관한 연구)

  • To improve the fire safety of spring bed mattress, a cooling frame including cooling material (water) was made and a cooling frame was installed under the bed mattress or between the bed mattress and bed mattress base; fire tests (real scale) were conducted with or without a cooling frame. Similar fire behavior was observed at the beginning of the test (approximately 3 minutes). Subsequently, rapid fire growth in the mattress without a cooling frame, but with a cooling frame, the decline progressed without growth. The flame spread on the top surface of the bed mattress was similar in the semicircular direction, and the average flame speed velocity was analyzed at approximately 0.005 m/s. The maximum flame height was found to be approximately 2.7 m without a cooling frame, and approximately 1.8 m with a cooling frame installed. In addition, the maximum heat release rate was measured to be approximately 740 kW without a cooling frame, and approximately 400 kW with a cooling frame installed. As a result, the flame height and heat release rate were reduced when the bed mattress was fired through the installed cooling frame.

졸-겔 법으로 증착된 ZnO 박막의 냉각 속도 및 후열처리에 따른 특성

  • 졸-겔 스핀코팅(sol-gel spin-coating)법을 이용하여 실리콘 기판에 ZnO 박막을 증착하였다. 증착된 졸 용액을 전열처리(pre-heat treatment) 후, 다른 속도로 상온까지 냉각시켰다. ZnO 박막의 특성 분석을 위하여 atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, photoluminescence (PL)을 이용하였다. 전열처리 후 5$^{\circ}C$/min의 속도로 천천히 냉각시킨 ZnO 박막은 산맥구조(mountain chain structure)로 표면이 매우 거친 반면, 빠르게 냉각시킨 ZnO 박막은 매우 매끄러운 표면을 나타내었다. 빠르게 냉각시킨 ZnO 박막의 c-축 배향성(c-axis preferred orientation)이 느리게 냉각시킨 ZnO 박막의 배향성보다 더 우세하게 나타났고, 결정성도 우수하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 빠르게 냉각시킨 ZnO 박막의 광학적 특성이 느리게 냉각시킨 ZnO 박막의 특성보다 우수하게 나타났다. 후열처리(post-heat treatment)에 의해 ZnO 박막의 구조적 및 광학적 특성이 더욱 향상되었다.

Effect of Incubation Time after Cooling on the Meiotic Spindle and Chromosomes of Mouse Oocytes (냉각 후 배양시간이 생쥐 난자의 방추체와 염색체에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effects of incubation time after cooling on mouse meiotic spindle and chromosome alignment and the optimal incubation time for their restoration. Oocytes at the metaphase II were obtained from superovulated mice. Control oocytes were held at 37$^{\circ}C$ during the experiment. Oocytes were rapidly cooled to $0^{\circ}C$, held for 30 minutes, warmed and incubated at 37$^{\circ}C$ for 5, 15, 30, 60 and 120 minutes, respectively. The morphological features of spindle and chromosomes in oocytes were evaluated by immunofluorescent staining. Meiotic spindle of control oocytes exhibited a normal-looking bipolar configuration(barrel-shaped) and highly fluorescent microtubles. The chromosomes were clustered in a discrete bundles at metaphase plate. Disassembly of meiotic spindle and chromosome dispersion were occurred immediately after chilling of oocyte. Fluorescence intensity index(FIS), normal chromosomes aligned and normal spindle configuration were compared according to incubation time at 37$^{\circ}C$. Restoration of a barrel-shaped spindle and normal chromosome alignment was occurring after 5 minutes incubation at 37$^{\circ}C$, improved as a incubation time increased, and decreased gradually after 120 minutes incubation(P<0.05). The optimal incubation time for restoration of meiotic spindle and chromosomes in cooled oocytes was 60 minutes.
